Leave alone the thought process & the homework he did for these discussions, what amazes me is his skill of weaving his thoughts into effective yet simple words that are able to convey his message to his audience even if they are someone not very proficient in english or conscious about geopolitics. There is no lack of intellect in our country but intelligence plus oratory skills plus his talent for negotiation makes him the best person to be India’s foreign minister. He also has a good leader who not only picked him, but also supports him. A good supportive team nurtures good to best. Once Dr. Manmohan Singh said,” Enjoying his(P.V.N R)confidence, I went about my job to carry forward his vision.” As Dr.Singh is remembered as the FM who took India out of economic crises, Dr.Jaishankar will be remembered as best Foreign Minister by future generations.
Simply Brilliant. I could have never imagined Sri Jaishankars depth and breadth of knowledge. Lecture every one should listen and imbibe.

BTW, the least you can do is to read his book "India's way: strategies for an uncertain world".
A lot of what he says is from that book.

What a great thinker. The wisdom this man converts from education & life experience and imparts on the world is absolutely necessary to hear.
Choices and lessons our western an wannabe 'western' European politicians have moved away from. The fact that he refers to The Thucydides Trap, directs comparative thought & a multitude of alternative choices towards world peace and away from hegemony and wars.
Since Ghandi and Freedom from Colonialism, India has always had a lot to offer in terms of wisdom (and a lot more).
The slogan of vasudeva kutumko should first be applied to India which is conspicuous by its absence. Example Manipur.
@@DheerajNavin-ln5wn From what I gather, he's very diplomatically referring to (&against) the US/UK/EU hegemonic attitude. I tend to agree with him on this level.
He's suggesting there are many more cultures, writers, philosophies to add in the mix of strategic thought other than just the west's single-minded hegemonic push for "rules based order" (which is made up & not credible or lawful)...young west thinks itself wiser than older existing countries/cultures, & trying to force all others to fall in line with them, right or wrong.
Well, I'm a westerner, though I consider myself well read, I doubt I'm anywhere near educated in Indian history, thought and philosophy.

I found it & other sources on the subject. I got a general sense of what the ideology is about on Wikipedia. It's frightening to think this sort of thought is so widespread... we saw it in Ukraine, many other Baltic states, here in the US, also in Israel, but Ghandi's India was the last place I'd expect this. Seems to be a sort of protectionist response to neighboring (over-reaction imo) to theologies of other cultures...ie; exclusion of Christianity, Islam.
I will study the subject further, however, it must be my unfamiliarity of your culture, I just didn't pick up such messaging in Jaishankar's speech although I pick up all insinuations, lies and intents from western politicians.
