Got a copy of Bitwig cos I purchased a Nektar keyboard and really really fascinating and fresh DAW. I would be very intrigue to change. BUT, I know it's a stupid thing for probably everyone but I really hate that orange color for volume, samples and buttons all over the interface (fine in the effect chain). Will you ever add the possibility to personalise the GUI like most of softwares out there?! Again, I know it's trivial but if I have to look at an interface all day it needs to look pretty for me
Bitwig is amazing, so glad I bought it. Though the clips time signature changes need a serious look at. Instead of working similar to automation when you change lots of time signatures it needs to actually change the global time signature so we don't end up with issues with the pre count being wrong sometimes or counting in to play in a different time signature when the scene you are playing is not the main time signature in the transport section. Posted about this on twitter, reddit, the discord and emailed support so hopefully we can get some help with this! Looking forward to the new updates for Bitwig anyway.
Bitwig Time signature thing has always (along with its audio editing system) have been its weak points, at least as long as I've used it (since v2). DAW with the most fluid and easy audio editing capabilities has always to me been Reaper, but also the fact that time signatures can be completely absurd in it are great. I haven't actually tried this in a long time, but Bitwig used to just basically go "no, I can't hear you" if you wanted to put in anything other than 3/4 or 4/4 (or any multiplier of those) as time signatures.
It's not very good even in 3.3.1, especially using the clip scenes, playing the wrong measures, counting wrong if you don't manually change the time signature so it makes it a nightmare to do 5/4 into 7/8 to record. Ableton does this well with their edit launch time signature they need to take a look at that and possibily emulate it, if it actively commits the change and keeps the time signature change the last one played it might solve their issues. I made a post here if you are interested : www.reddit.com/r/Bitwig/comments/kyu44h/time_signature_issues_bugs/ But if not, hopefully they fix these problems because as you say it is a weak point!
That is an interesting problem. My guess is that creating an automation lane on the master channel in the Arrangement view is the intended solution, but I have no idea how to work around that in the clip launch view
Really glad you enjoyed it! And I'll note it down, maybe I'll drop it on my website sometime as a free preset/rack thing. I've got a few that might be handy to share!
Bitwig is great no doubt, but the lack of feature of exporting midi and wav files by just dragging it to the browser needs to be looked into (instead of exporting a clip which is not what we want most of the time. Also grouping of effect send busses cannot be done due to some kind of bug (the feature is available in the menu but does not function as it should, and doesnt create a group).
@@skatechatham still takes a few extra steps, no? It would be more convenient if this feature was added. (Also im managing with your method for now lol)
Great fundaments. I think Bitwig should invest even more into these: transparent mastering grade/more true analog modeled ZDF filters (accesible in every device and for "transparent" oversampling where it is needed), smoother dynamics. With this you can build galaxy of tones :) EQ5+, new filters in Grid and new saturator is good example of finetuning what we already got. I think with new engine oprimizations they are heading there. More quality than quantity of functions and workflow.
Can you just praise Bitwig without putting other DAW(s) down? In several ways what you've said is not 100% true and Live has several advantages over Bitwig in other areas, so it's not so black & white.
@@Artek604 yee, I said its better in terms of modulation and technicality. Bitwig has its bugs, the bug which does not allow me to group effect tracks hasnt even been fixed. 7:22, 9:03, 12:19 are those clicks normal? Part of the synth? Do they present in final rendering, or in other words is this some preview artefact? ? How do I get rid of them?
It's hard to say exactly where those artifacts are coming from. Possibly related to playing back while simultaneously doing screen capture, or that the audio latency setting is too low. Or maybe the signal is peaking somewhere in the chain. Many possible causes, many ways to fix it.

Whenever I consider a DAW other than Logic, Apple seems quick to release the ‘best of’ features to stay competitive.
