    Any hole in the ground, let's water, air, and nutrients down into the hole where the roots of the grass are. Its may not be the best form of airation but it will and does help do the job.

    They are cheaply made & hard to use. You will feel burning in your shins very quickly. I only use mine early in the morning before the neighbours are out. I must admit though I found the results outstanding. My lawn holds both water & fertilizer better. I don't see any run off when watering..excellent absorption...less water...Saving $$

    I saw these back in the 80's and 90's. As a kid, I didn't have the money to buy them, but I figured I could make a pair in the garage! It turned out that the soil in my parent's lawn was so dense that I couldn't get 2X4 nails to penetrate the dirt! They just pushed back up through the block of wood instead. Ahh, childhood engineering!

    To be fair soil compaction is not the only reason for aeration. These are useless for that, but they do help with getting nutrients and oxygen to the root system. I use them on my customers with very small yards when I'm over seeding and they do just fine.

    Hello. You Missed a very usefull job for the sandals. It’s true it does not involve lawn or grass, I agree with you on the lawn part. If everyone needs this advice , they do a great job for construction people who do self leveling concrete slabs, as they can walk in the same time they level the concrete without leaving any marks as the concrete levels after the leave the area. It’s their only use. Oh and you forgot to mention, on the lawn, sometimes if the soil is clay, they also rip big junks of soil stuck between the pins and you also get huge holes in the ground. That’s if you do not actually fall on your face as they stuck in the ground too Deep. Really dangerous things!! 👍

  • @crazysquirrel9425
    @crazysquirrel9425 3 роки тому +1

      Thats a good question since I hav gotten this comment before when I used we we call a mulching fork. Maybe some names are wrong, I guess the important part is just get the one you really want in the end.
