      I think this is a response to our friendship with China.
      For that reason, I don't think it's a debt trap. Also, I think the guy being interviewed said that the terms and conditions have been read, there's no strings attached.
      While I don't necessarily like the West, I welcome their money.

    Where will they get the water to make this hydrogen?, I hope it will be from desalination plants but not fresh water that are supposed to be for the communities.

    • @flabelflabel7913
      @flabelflabel7913 Місяць тому

      most likely through a nearby ocean. Namibia is using a system in the desert near a ocean

    • @fancyIOP
      @fancyIOP Місяць тому

      @@flabelflabel7913 if it’s ocean water then it will be desalinated water from the ocean. Because you can’t use ocean water as it is since it’s salty it needs to be clean unless if technologies have changed now. And has Namibia started theirs yet?. I don’t think so but I may be wrong though I follow such news and haven’t heard anything yet.

      @@fancyIOP solar.
      its most likely going to be located in the somewhere near the namibia border where there is nothing but sun and semidesert. the hardest part about desalination is the power needed. but if u are in a semidesert there is a near infinite amount of solar that can be used to power the plants
      also the profit and job oppertunities for hydrogen outway the costs of making a desalination plant.
      finaly the excess water can be used for the locals who live in the desert regions

      @@bongaradebe4072 they get a source of hydrogen that we sell them that they cannot produce in large amounts and can move away from their reliance on natural gas which is getting more expensive

    hydrogen is likely to replace many fossil fuels making it very profitable and not many countries can cheaply produce a large amount of it. South Africa is one of a very few countries that can produce hydrogen easily. if the government actualy wants to fix this country they better make sure that every cent of this investment is used to the best of its value.
    If they prove that to the EU we may see many more millions and possibly billions

    • @flabelflabel7913

      probably making sure that we use the money effectivily before dumping a couple billion only for it to disapear into a few ministers pockets.
      if it is used as planned then we can expect more money. until then we will have to do the best we can with what we have
