Oh, I'm so glad you finally reacted to Zhou Shen (Zhou sounds like Joe). Some background on him. His voice never really descended when he hit puberty and he was bullied when he was younger. He had a passion for singing, but even his parents said he didn't have the look of a star (he's also short at 5'3). Don't get me wrong. His parents loved him. Every culture is different. He dropped the music and ended up studying dentistry in the Ukraine, but with the language barrier and the pull of music was too great, he wanted to pursue his passion. In 2020, he had 101 stage performances which showed that he is a very hard-working and well-loved singer. The stage designs for this super-star are all spectacular. The band and orchestra players love him so much that they often clap hands to show their applause and appreciations after his live performances with them. He is very humble and often bows to thanks all the musicians and workers. He was often invited to perform in the festive days and he had to fly to different provinces all over China. Many producers of the shows have to compete for his performance as his singing never fails the audience which his presence is often a sure guarantee of gaining super audience ratings.

Charlie tried out for it once, but was rejected. Two years later, Charlie tried again and finally got approval for it. To tell you a bit of his background. He got bullied when he was young just because his voice didn't change when puberty came but that was not his choice and people called him names..... because of that he didn't sing in front of people for a long time and he even tried to tone down his voice when he speaks. It takes a long time for him to accept his own voice again and gets where he is now. He has studied Dentistry in Ukraine when he was young but because of the language barriers, he changes to studied Classical music there instead. His goal is to combine Classical and Pop music together to introduce to those who didn't know what Classical music is. His vocal range is very wide and his breath control is very good. He is a polite, funny, and humble guy. He can sing at least over 12 different languages. He can even sing 6 different voices in one song which is what you guys are reacting to on this video. He also got a song that sings without lyrics, just by humming, and still touches our souls. His music has so many different genres. If you are willing to dig into his performances, you will be amazed by his talents. A lot of music can heal people's bodies but not many can heal people,'s, souls. Even during interview, he just start sing without any prepare, anytime he want too. You are not wrong, his's live is very alike with album recording. "Think of Me" (his concert version), "Memory" and "The Lonely Goatherd" (in the Super Vocal 2018) are my favorites. I hope one day you would also find Tia Ray, a Jazz singer. She's one of the contestants together with Hua Chen Yu and Zhou Shen on that very stage--"The Singer2020". Her song "Love can fly" was really good and so far not many people outside China did reaction video on it.
Some background to this song, Da La Beng Ba, is about Dragon Quest, a game developed in the 80s. Written in 2017, the song is about this young man, Da La Beng Ba, who fought bravely against the dragon to save the king’s daughter, and at the end married her and have their own baby. In this version, Zhou Shen delivered very well all characters, a little girl, the king, the brave young man, the dragon, and also the narrator. You know, even for a Chinese speaker, the lyrics are hard, cos just the name of the characters are unusual. For example, Da La Beng Ba’s full name is Da La Beng Ba Ban De Bei Di Bu Duo Bi Lu Weng, which is impossibly long and are just meaningless sounds. The fact that it was first written for the Vocaloid competition and was sung by two AI characters, this song is extra difficult to sing, as there is little space for breathing in between lines. Zhou Shen is simply unbelievable.

Really hard to tell which song... There're sooooo many songs that represent a different version of him, in varying languages as well...... One of his iconic songs is Big Fish, which obviously has multiple versions, from the original movie theme song, to live, to duet, pick any and it will still sound great. For English songs, my personal favorite from him is "This is me". Yet, another song that comes to my mind is his cover for "Unravel", which is in Japanese. So forgive me, is impossible for me to just pick one. I still have dozens to go. But I will just pause for now.

Oh, I'm so glad you finally reacted to Zhou Shen (Zhou sounds like Joe). Some background on him. His voice never really descended when he hit puberty and he was bullied when he was younger. He had a passion for singing, but even his parents said he didn't have the look of a star (he's also short at 5'3). Don't get me wrong. His parents loved him. Every culture is different. He dropped the music and ended up studying dentistry in the Ukraine, but with the language barrier and the pull of music was too great, he wanted to pursue his passion. In 2020, he had 101 stage performances which showed that he is a very hard-working and well-loved singer. The stage designs for this super-star are all spectacular. The band and orchestra players love him so much that they often clap hands to show their applause and appreciations after his live performances with them. Charlie tried out for it once, but was rejected. Two years later, Charlie tried again and finally got approval for it. To tell you a bit of his background. He got bullied when he was young just because his voice didn't change when puberty came but that was not his choice and people called him names..... because of that he didn't sing in front of people for a long time and he even tried to tone down his voice when he speaks. It takes a long time for him to accept his own voice again and gets where he is now.
He has studied Dentistry in Ukraine when he was young but because of the language barriers, he changes to studied Classical music there instead. His goal is to combine Classical and Pop music together to introduce to those who didn't know what Classical music is. His vocal range is very wide and his breath control is very good. He is a polite, funny, and humble guy.
He can sing at least over 12 different languages. He can even sing 6 different voices in one song which is what you guys are reacting to on this video. He also got a song that sings without lyrics, just by humming, and still touches our souls. His music has so many different genres.
If you are willing to dig into his performances, you will be amazed by his talents. A lot of music can heal people's bodies but not many can heal people,'s, souls. Zhou Shen's music is one of them that can heal your soul. Thank you again for reacting to Zhou Shen's performance.

Even during interview, he just start sing without any prepare, anytime he want too. You are not wrong, his's live is very alike with album recording. Hope you see microphone he using also very different, i not sure what it is, but heard it was use to record his live voice more accurate and intensively.
👍 I enjoy the journey traveling with you and glad you found Zhou Shen. Zhou Shen did many nice cover songs in different languages. "Think of Me" (his concert version), "Memory" and "The Lonely Goatherd" (in the Super Vocal 2018) are my favorites. I hope one day you would also find Tia Ray, a Jazz singer. She's one of the contestants together with Hua Chen Yu and Zhou Shen on that very stage--"The Singer2020". Her song "Love can fly" was really good and so far not many people outside China did reaction video on it.

Some background to this song, Da La Beng Ba, is about Dragon Quest, a game developed in the 80s. Written in 2017, the song is about this young man, Da La Beng Ba, who fought bravely against the dragon to save the king’s daughter, and at the end married her and have their own baby.
In this version, Zhou Shen delivered very well all characters, a little girl, the king, the brave young man, the dragon, and also the narrator. You know, even for a Chinese speaker, the lyrics are hard, cos just the name of the characters are unusual. For example, Da La Beng Ba’s full name is Da La Beng Ba Ban De Bei Di Bu Duo Bi Lu Weng, which is impossibly long and are just meaningless sounds.
The fact that it was first written for the Vocaloid competition and was sung by two AI characters, this song is extra difficult to sing, as there is little space for breathing in between lines. Zhou Shen is simply unbelievable.

Calm down guys, 1st thing 1st, this video is not a pre recorded video like those music videos it is an actual live recording bcos it was a competition between professional singers in The Singer China back in 2020. As a fan of Charlie Zhou Shen, I was in awe by this performance of his as I didn't know the real talent of this incredible young man until he performed this on a live show!!! You probably would like to check out some of his other performances in the same show 👉 The Singer, China 2020 as he gave many more excellent performances, 2 of which was recorded live from his bedroom during pandemic lockdown. And boy he sings beautifully, not scream but really sing! But pls exclude the song he performed with a band during the semi bcoz it was arranged for him to makesure he wouldn't proceed to the final (as the way I see it) His voice is beautiful & angelic, his signature song is Big Fish or 大鱼 & he sings in multiple languages. Another few which amaze me no matter how many times I play them are 'Song of the Paradise Island', 'Ring the door bell', 'Tokyo Ghaul', 'Rubia' & 'Monster' 🥰 Tqvm for doing a reaction video on Charlie Zhou Shen 👍🥰 and pls dun compare him to other singers like Dimash etc bcos they sing different genres of songs ya 😉

this song was originaly sung by an AI about a princess getting caught by a dragon, the king is looking for a hero, a hero apeares and saves the princess from the dragon, and this story is told by a little girl which is why his voice was a little girl at the start, well anyways because this song was sung by a AI it caused a whole ruckus about wether AI's could sing better then human, that's why Zhou shen which is this singer, challenged it, he's a very talented singer can switch voices and honestly this performance was perfect, from all the hard lyrics, to the switching in vocals, it's amazing.

Really hard to tell which song... There're sooooo many songs that represent a different version of him, in varying languages as well...... One of his iconic songs is Big Fish, which obviously has multiple versions, from the original movie theme song, to live, to duet, pick any and it will still sound great. For English songs, my personal favorite from him is "This is me". Yet, another song that comes to my mind is his cover for "Unravel", which is in Japanese. So forgive me, is impossible for me to just pick one. I still have dozens to go. But I will just pause for now.

This song is a comedic play on the usual "hero fights a dragon and saves a princess" . The reasons for switching voices is because they are the sound of : the narrator, the hero, the princess, the king, the infant (baby), and the dragon.
“Time to say goodbye” was when he was discovered in 2018. “Big fish” is very popular. “China in light” he’s dueting with another famous female opera singer Zhang Ye. “Star fish” was played in the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympic.

Zhou Shen grew up in a very remote village in Southern China; bullied and criticized for his female/girly voice. His parents decided to send him to Ukraine studying Dentistry but he went to music school to study classical music instead.
