I remember thinking "Where are the loops?" when this first appeared on the fairs in 1983, but for a family coaster it offers some surprising thrills. The first drop is amazing! But the airtime hill only works when you have your restraint quite high and you have to actively jump up a bit, then you get a good floating sensation. What I really like about the ride is the "analogue" feel it offers. It´s not heartlined to oblivion and so you have some surprising moments of sudden laterals. The jump into the 2nd block brake used to almost throw you into your co-riders lap. It flies through those brakes in you POV! Oktoberfest operations are super efficient.
Alpina Bahn looks a great coaster & similar to Olympia Looping it would be good to see Alpina Bahn at Hyde park ww , great onride pov too 👍
