Imagine getting a full flashback about skullnight and void like the golden age arc
that would be awesome! we need it ASAP
@@melissagarcia3998 agree
Broo
Imagine getting Berserk chapters... :(
I don't know, Berserk is really Guts and Griffith's story to me. I wouldn't think it worth it. Especially for that long.
You think Miyra is putting berserk on hiatus just so he can watch all these theory videos to give him material to work with
Dude, I hope that you are right, though I am not sure he understands English.
Hmm, interesting!
It's the hyper details miura has in each panal that's causing the delaysl. His backgrounds are never lazy.
I'd do that to be honest
I can get in on this.
This is a big brain theory
But not big brain enough to admit that Donovan is Skull knight
Lol
Rofl
I believe this theory.
Think about it... we’ve never seen Donovan and Skull knight in the same place 🤔
Bruv if you just read the chapters you'll realize berserk is like nutty professor and all the characters are actually Donovan he's just am insane character actor
I like the thematic parallels, but continuity wise it's a little shaky. Like, if Skull Knight isn't King Gaiseric, then why does Slan call him, "Your Majesty"? Overall though, I thought it was really well thought out. Great vid.
I always felt like the "your majesty" was an insult. Maybe referring to his appearance.
RealLifeRyan I think it was her patronizing him. All signs point to him being Gaiseric, it’s pretty clear as day. What I DO like about your theory is your take on how Void came to be and the counterpart band 1000 years prior to Serpico and Farn and Isidro and Shierke, it would be awesome to get a flashback to them way back when, using the same fetishes that the gang uses now in battle, their demeanors. I do definitely like that concept.
RealLifeRyan I think it is an insult too because she meant that Skull knight (being Gaiseric) lost his kingdom.
@@RealLifeRyan If it was just an insult then why does he have a crown?
RealLifeRyan I take her saying,"your majesty" as an insult for sure, but I feel like it's to belittle him for losing his kingdom. Where's your crown, King Nothing?
I honestly think that skull knight and void have a history much like Guts and Griffith.
they got beef
Time to update this theory after the new chapter
As we've seen from Femto, the God's hands appearance corresponds to how they were living at that time of their ascension. Just like Griffiths's torture helmet becomes Femto's helmet. So my theory is Void was getting tortured at the time of his ascension. My theory is that Gaesric was a warlord and Void is one of his ruthless adviser but the king changed when she met her queen and thought of leaving it all behind. But Void got disappointed cause he wants Gaesric to continue conquering cause it's his dream too and that's where complications erupted.
There appearance is more so based upon who they truly are. A reflection of their inner self given flesh. Femto's appearance isn't based upon Griffith wearing the helmet, it's based upon what he's always envisioned himself to be. Whether he had the helmet on or not he would of still transformed into the same being.
As for Void, there's still a great deal of questions and mysteries surrounding him. Your theory might have some merit based upon who we all think he was and his link to Gaesric. It's very possible that his appearance much like all other apostles is a true reflection of his inner self in that if he truly is the sage that we've heard about then perhaps his exposed brain is a reflection of his wisdom/intelligence.
If we look back at the tower with all the skulls that had brand marks this could be a clue as to what he was doing that got him trouble with Gaesric. It's possible that as the sage he was trying to make contact with the astral world through an experimental ritual. A ritual that perhaps predates the Behelit. Given what was revealed in the latest chapter, everything about him and the previous God Hand seem very different from the present group. Could they have been the first? Even the apostles in Void's ceremony look vastly different from the one's currently, they look primordial.
@Wesker JHG Possibly, but then how do you explain the previous Godhand appearances? One looks like an Olympian God, another barely even resembles a human form. It makes more sense that their forms resemble a dark twisted version of their true selves. Not saying it's impossible for the other theory, but we are more led to believe that these forms are of their own choosing.
4:27
If that's true, Griffith will sacerfice his kingdom like void did to ... Ah crap
Just like the reincarnation ceremony in the convention perhaps to give the other godhand members a physical form
I always thought the point of falconia was to bring people to one point to sacrifice them in order to bring the other god hand members, the idea of evil etc, something into the normal world.
Kinda like building a giant house of cards... when you knock it over (cards meaning the kingdom in this case) they go freaking everywhere, making things way worse than before.
I don't think Griffith would sacrifce his kingdom. He's ALWAYS been the type to talk about his kingdom and his dream BEING his kingdom and for him to suddenly give it up without warning....well, I dunno man
@@srslydoatm9251 but isn't it not Griffith? I thought it was Femto pretending to be Griffith to trick everyone. Could be wrong but it could make sense that femto is just an entity made purely from the darke aspects of Griffith, making him completely selfish and intent on ruling everything even in darkness
I love this theory, it feels very Miura. It is so tight and logical, fits perfectly in the story, but tweaks it enough to provide the “whoaaa” moment. I would love to see what kind of theoretical backstories you could come up with for Slan, Ubik, and Conrad.
At first I was like this in insane then at about 7 minutes in I was like this is 200 iq. We’re all losing our minds waiting for more chapters to be released.

You are forgetting one major detail that puts a big hole in your Skull Knight was just a knight and not Gaiseric himself. In the Qliphoth when Slan was in physical form due to the troll intestines, she refers to the Skull Knight as, "Your Majesty" Basically stating that yes, he in fact is Gaiseric.
I believe that the 4 elementary kings were invoked by Flora to fight against Void. During the match Void used his powers to redirect the attacks of the kings (destroying by default the capital). That would explain why everyone has the mark of sacrifice, but their bodies are not mutilated (since at that time there were no apostles).
You’re onto something, but I believe the branding ceremony was carried out by Void, as he does during the eclipse.
I totally agree with u bro!!!
That's what I think too I mean why else is there confusion between there being 4 or 5 angels. The reason Is I think because the 4 elemental Kings were fighting were against void
Aldo Kurti Right!
I mean the newer chapters prove their were apostles at the time however what if the reason they aren't mutilated is because the four King's interrupted the ritual like we see SK do to save guts and casca
Twist. King Geiseric is actually Void, and Skull Knight was the sage trying to right his wrongs.
It is within the realm of thought that they would transform into vile versions of their counteparts to reflect their own flaws in allowing their differences to remain unchecked. So they could actually be resembling eachother and not themselves.
But then all the stuff about Gaiseric using skull-themed armor would be a red herring. Muria doesn't do that.Everything is foreshadowed in Berserk.
@@serioushamster wrong...sheirke thinking moonlight boy was the elf king was a red herring
Void doesn’t resemble anything gaiseric would, he seems more like a wiseman Druid to me. Also on elfheim they called SK “King”.
@@TheStatisfiedOne
The whole point of a twist is to subvert expectations. It would be to obvious for a Warrior-King to become an armored ghost knight, and a sage to become to a death wizard looking thing. If their destiny is to mirror eachother, then we have something interesting. Gaesric's skull motif is a bit on the nose for the skull knight, as well as people using royal honorifics. Bu
Hey this is actually pretty good you definitely on to something here mate! Cheers
Skull knight is gaiseric, slan sarcastically said your heirness and even on elfheim they called him king. And the reason that gaiseric didn’t get branded at the first eclipse is because he is nobody dear to void, infact I think that always void disliked gaiseric as being a prick of a king and being a wiseman he was loved by many others. And he set his people against gaiseric. But something probably happens with his people turned against him and gaiseric put him in prison for doing something bad, he then with the help of IOE sacrificed the people and became an so-called angel himself which is also why the story has 5 angels. 4 angels where the heavenly kings trying to prevent the eclipse and stop the other angel who was void who was ascending into the entity he has become
I always thought the real parallel stories were where Gaiseric and Griffith shared the same kind of destiny, and the Guts from Gaiseric's story was actually Zodd.
always thought this too. zod is the guts of his era
That actually makes a lot of sense seeing just as Guts' goal is of course to kill Griffith and the god hand, Zodd clearly has something similar with Skull Knight seeing as he takes every chance, he gets to fight him. The only potential problem with this theory is that, when Rickert tells the band of the hawk about Zodd initially, he says "his name has been heard for more than a hundred years" which in this case, Zodd would have had been alive for over 864 years which of course, is over a hundred years but if that were the case, I feel like there would be different wording for how long 864 years is. However, this could have been from the point Zodd used a behelit. I like this idea though because Skull Knight gives an idea of what Guts would become if he let the berserker armor and the beast of darkness consume him while Zodd is an example for what would happen if Guts uses his behelit and makes a sacrifice.
My personal thought is that Zodd and SK are the same person: the King.
After perishing inside the Berserk Armour, the King’s beast of Darkness manifests as Zodd, and the body of the King is animated by his soul and lingering will.
Think of it like the heartless and nobodies of Kingdom hearts.
Well this theory is mostly out the window because its been confirmed in the latest chapters that the skull knight was king gaiseric
it was always kind of off because skull knight was referred to as your majesty by one of the god hand, why would they refer to him as a royal if he was only a knight.
I thought skull knight was confirmed to be king of the elves not king gaiseric
@@Jambiiiii king of the elves is the flower storm king danan the chick with the big hat who sent farnese and schierke into cascas dream to release her from retardation
@@rssy3819 yea that’s right i forgot they call that lady a king even tho she’s a woman.
6:40 skull Knight was friends with Flora though. She even remember his smile. She's old as him.
Skull Knight is a Millennium old. Confirmed by Zodd.
"You've been our enemy for a Millennium!"
Zodd
Flora isn't evil. Otherwise the Griffith wouldn't want her dead . She wouldn't have helped Gutts.
Flora can contact sprites to attack. Flora could have gotten then to save skull Knight kingdom from voids demons
History do get facts wrong. Who's to say void didn't spin the story to make skull Knight look bad? I don't think a self proclaimed "sheep of the unholy* demon who server a idea of evil has good intentions.
Makes sense
Interesting
Also the 4 or 5 angels is delivery told to confuse who side summoned the true angels
I firmly believe the Sage pulled a Coup on the King, then ruled in his name. The King was the one tortured while the Sage corrupted the kingdom, so the King called his 4 elemental friends (he knows magic users) to burn it all down. Sage survived as Void, and that's why he is the only Godhand at that point and why the story is what it is. Everyone thought it was the king, but it was ALWAYS the Sage.
@@CNNBlackmailSupport do I have news for you
My theory is pretty similar to yours but maybe a little simpler:
There is no cycle predating the current God Hand. Void created the first eclipse himself along with his followers. The first crimson behelit was crafted from his own face and the people in the bottom of the pit were branded voluntarily by hand. Maybe the elemental Gods trashed the city to show their disapproval of astral/inhuman occult magic, or maybe an eclipse destroyed it since we know it resembles a huge tornado from the outside.
I agree for the most part about Skull Knight. He is one of Gaiseric's descendants or followers, not the man himself. I suspect if he has any motive other than vengeance by killing the God Hand it is to protect Gaiseric's bloodline, now dependent on Charlotte. Since SK took a run at Griffith I bet the prospect of Charlotte giving Griffith an heir will factor into the story soon.
Damn I kinda like the theory about the behelit and voids face. I just really wanna know whats up with this void dude >.>
That behelet creation/ritual theory is fantastic, I love it🤘🤘
smoogy 2 Idk man I can’t hang with SK NOT being gaiseric, I think that just over complicates the plot and in hindsight berzerk isn’t all that complicated. They have all but officially made SK Gaiseric, he is referred to by Slan as “you’re majesty” and wears a crown. He deliberately attacks Void who is 99% the sage. I feel like guts is too unique to be some next gen struggler and the SK doesn’t really seem to have the mentality of some other deranged struggler. He’s royalty and it shows in his character, if he wasn’t Gaiseric then this is all some scooby doo shitshow. The references tie together and they don’t tell Gaiseric’s story for no reason and exclude Gaiseric from Berzerk.
@@brojangles8816 I agree that the simplest explanation is probably the correct one in this instance but there are some inconsistencies with SK that make me doubt it will be so straightforward. e.g. If he died in the Berserker armor why is he wearing a different set? If he's a despotic emperor why is he so courteous and knight-like?
Edit: As for the "Your Majesty" comment from Slan, if SK was Gaiseric's first born son that would still be a correct way of addressing him.
@@RealLifeRyan I doubt I'm the first person to make that connection but some light searching on reddit didn't come up with anything about it. I'm also a pretty new Berserk fan like yourself. Your videos are a great addition to the fandom so thanks BTW
I always saw the branded corpses under the old kingdom as ritualistic branding. Like the brands were done by humans following a cult (maybe even self inflicted) instead of supernatural branding like we see centuries later when the Godhand and the apostles have been fully realized.
You forgot the Puck feels that the Skull Knight is an elf back when they met him on the beach
I like the idea that Void doesn't have that brain look because of any other reason that he in fact looked like broccoli when he was a normal human
He had an Afro when he was human void is actually Kobe
@@DEATHWISHVQ LMAO
What if- after all of this is over... Kintaro drops a prequel story he’s been holding since the beginning, telling the story about the first god hand
Whats funny is thinking about all these theories on your own while not even taking into consideration whether Miura himself has thought about them in the future, its so fun seeing the plot lines other people create, berserk is AWESOME !!
2:27 looking at this panel in black and white I'm surprised at how much the berserk armor reminds me of Griffith's old armor
Welp. We know now that SK was indeed a King. And void was a friend of his. The timelines are probably similar but the roles are swapped. Skull Knight was the one who united the whole world under one banner, and Void was the one who took it away from him.
No Schierke on the top of the church roof while the trolls attack, said a spell to call upon the "Four Cardinal Guardian angels written of in the holy scriptures"...she tells the priest after save everyone with the barrier using the "Four Sacred Lieges"
Voids design has so much presence. I saw him and immediately knew he was the b0s.
Are you kidding! Your story sounds legit! Great job!
I like most of your theory, except for Skull Knight's identity. I still think he and Gaiseric are the same person.
The reason I have is when Slan meets Skull Knight in the Qliphoth, the demon queen refers to him as "your majesty". In a world where royalty is highly regarded, names and titles, like that, are not freely given but earned. So Slan may know of Skull Knight's past identity and is most likely mocking him for that.
The second reason is that Guts reminds Skull Knight of his former life as Gaiseric. I am guessing both had a hard life of struggle, yet well-earned victory. Skull Knight is well-versed in the idea of struggle, possibly due to his long conquest and hardships as King Gaiseric. Since Gaiseric was still human, his large empire struggled to thrive. So Gaiseric imposed higher taxes to try to keep everything together. And at times, Gaiseric might've taken some time off to collect himself. This is similar to Guts during his time with the original Band of the Falcon (Hawk). Guts fought hard to achieve victory and survival. When their leader, Griffith, achieved lordship, Guts decided to leave to find himself. As everyone knows, this decision led to their downfall. If Griffith had not sacrificed the Band, Guts would have ended up leading them and becoming King too.
The third reason is that both suffered a betrayal. Not any betrayal, but a deeply personal one. Since you mentioned that Gaiseric and the priest (or magic-user) might've had a friendship, the priest used his feelings for him and his kingdom as a sacrifice to become Void, the first God Hand. After losing everything, Skull Knight (Gaiseric) swore an everlasting vengeance on Void and his kind. This is similar to Guts' relationship with Griffith.
And the final, obvious, reason is that Skull Knight and Gaiseric have similar armor and fighting style. Of all the armor that they wore, they all bear a skull-shaped helmet. This most likely reflects on their inner selves or their Beast of Darkness. Also, Skull Knight and Gaiseric are shown with a sword and shield. Since Skull Knight is a master of the blade with supernatural speed and agility, Gaiseric must've achieved that by donning the Berserker Armor (and possibly nearly dying from it).
Thank you for reading my theory on Skull Knight's identity.
**UPDATE**
After reading chapter 362, glimpses of Skull Knight's past was shown. In the past, Skull Knight witnessed a brutal massacre, similar to the Eclipse while alive and wearing the Berserker Armor. Also, he was holding a dying branded woman who could be his lover. Even, Skull Knight comments to Guts that he bore witness to the final moments of a foolish king who becomes a deadman hunting the night (himself).
Void and gaiseric (SK) where not friends of eachother, because SK was not branded because guts and caska where the first eclipse survivors which means SK never participated at the eclipse. Void as the wiseman disliked Gaiseric
It was confirmed by Shierke that the previous user died donning the Berserker Armor.
@@jomsviking5976 He did die, but his soul became trapped in the Skull Armor that he now wears.
The last paragraph makes alot of sense
Good theory 👌👌
I'd say that Gaiseric is a mirror of Guts if he was the one who had the dream of making his own Kingdom Whilst Void was basically a magic using Griffith who had no dreams of his own to begin with.
I'm still convinced that Gaiseric became the Skull Knight but a lot of the theory you've proposed has a lot of good ideas to it.
What if Void is the sage that Gaiseric imprisoned and Void's offering was the kingdom he thought he was protecting. Gaiseric loses it and goes on a Guts style revenge quest on Void for taking his kingdom. It would also explain why Gaiseric would have come in contact with the berserk armor (rage for Void)
Hey Ryan! Great video. Sorry for not joining your 10K live stream, I was working when you were online. But better late than never, congrats on your 12K subscribers! You did it! And I look forward to your collab with Boofire, spired, and the masked man on Berserk
Thanks man, always appreciate your support!
My prediction is Void became a religious leader who he preached to against Gaseric. When he ascended to become a member of the God hand his sacrifice was everyone in the kingdom except the king but the king did witness the slaughter simmilar to Guts this drove him made with rage allowing the berserker armor to take over completely.
Skull knight is actually a dark wraith who used a red eye orb and invaded the wrong world
Skull night was a king himself and the proof is that the mages and even the female demon angel adress him as his majesty .
Void likely was somebody close to The Skull Knight when he was King and used the egg of the king to sacrifice Skull Knight's entire kingdom to become Void.. and that's why Skull Knight hates him.
I always believed Void used to be Caiseric. When Caiseric conquered the land just like you mentioned, there was one thing left to conquer, time and death. I don't think he started living lavishly like you said, but rather became crazy in pursuit of immortality, just like real first emperor of China. So he sacrified all to become immortal and what sure to have existed from the beginning and will never seize to exist? "Void", and his sacrificed subjects is similar to the terracotta army.
Yeah it doesn't make sense because what of the tortured sage? You can see the torture in void's face - and if Skull Knight to Void is what Guts is to Griffith, that would make sense because Griffith was also tortured - it's the same thing all over again. And people are thinking way too deeply... Skull Knight is Gaeseric, that's why Guts had that epiphany when learning about Gaeseric and how he 'wore a skull into battle'. Gaeseric wearing a skull... And look at skull Knight. They are the same.
@@samuelrichard8849 i really don't think SK is Caiseric, for the simple fact someone else can't sacrifice what is dear to Caiseric (the conquered land and people). I also think it's not necessarily a tortured face Void has, but rather he sees and tastes nothing because he is "void". Otherwise Femto would have similar appearence.
@@yea8794 That isnt necessarily true, no where does it say that one God Hand member is transformed in the same way as another God Hand member, especially when Femto has a divine role of being the final king/leader of the world. Also, no where does it say Void is called that because he is 'Void'. That is just a very far reaching theory you heard in the video you just watched. Void's most precious thing to him was the people and the land, he would have worked as a sage to help the land and people and grew to love the peace and success he shared with Gaeseric. So yes that would be what he sacrificed - and I am guessing SK escaped the first eclipse, and either became an apostle or died in the berserker armor and became an astral being (Puck noticing he feels like an elf).
I agree with the poster. Caiseric was becoming too powerful but he wanted even more, the Behelith made it possible for him become too powerful, Caiseric did it with Skull Knights lover turning him into rage. Skull Knight tried to defeat him but failed, then obtained the Berserker armor and defeated him, the Behelith triggered and Caiseric turned him into God Hand, sacrificing his lover and everyone, now SK wants to take revenge. Paralells with Guts and Griffith.
Seriously, this is genius, if you'd want to make your own franchise, whatever the medium, you could do it 100%
uh ok, but a lot of this theory never lined up from the start, now its been straight-up confirmed skull knight is king Gaiseric in the latest chapter but even a decade ago one of the god hands referred to him as your majesty, why would a knight be referred to as a royal.
@@JaJaBi its not about being wrong or right here. He has the mind of a genius plot-writer ;P
Last chapter busted this theory; there were 4 other different God Hands with Void at the time, all replaced by the time of Griffith's Black Eclipse, with Void the last remaininf member from the Skull Knight's time. More mysteries, more cool theories to make up.
Damn do you think that skull knight killed the other members except for void
Great videos. Whenever I watch them I immediately want to go back and read more Berserk!
I personally call it the roller coaster time line. It's an endless cycle, but the players are different. Like how a roller coaster needs to go through the same turns and loops, but the passengers are different every time.
we know that skullknight is the king because in the manga is refeered to as "king"
Well well well and here we are after ch 362 haha great theory here buddy, interesting to see if you were close with some of your ideas. Also your latest video on the theories of the old god hand has some parallels to this one too! Causality strikes again with a *CLANG*
nice, I just started reading berserk - im around chp 270, and ive been thinking this about specially skull knight and void.
Rest in peace Kentaro Mirua, im sad it took his death for me to finally read into this story but im glad he took his time to tell this tale - even if unfinished.
Even after re reading berserk I still have so many questions. Who is slan to skull knight, just someone’s he’s been fighting or is there a deeper connection? Why was skull knights lover sacrificed and by who? Also wtf is skull knight I get that he’s supposed to parallel guts but as far as we know he isn’t branded so what exactly happened in that flash back with him an his lover during the eclipse? Did he make the sacrifice?
I think it’s fairly safe to say that skull knight died/lost to his inner beast from the berserk armor as he warned guts about. And when that happens his body/spirit/astrol self have transformed to the state he is in now but I’m also guessing flora had to help skull knight by bringing him back from his rage when he lost to the inner beast of the armor.....
IMO skull knight was king gaiseric, gaiseric was essentially Grif, with void being his "guts" though with the dynamic changed in several ways.
i think void, as some kind of wiseman, mage or master of intrigue was probably Gaiseric's man behind the scenes pulling strings and someone who helped forge the kingdom at gaiseric's side. they were likely friends/rivals as well. i think gaiseric likely became an asshole tyrant (possibly due to effects of berserk armor), and void began plotting against him (a la varys x dany in GOT)
void was imprisoned, tortured, and brought to his moment of desperation.
now to void, imagine his dream being to bring peace to a united kingdom, but seeing how its leader oppressed them. in a twisted way, sacrificing them to make him a godhand would be a kind of release for an oppressed population.
so now you have the eclipse, gaiseric would be tough enough to fight off the demons eating his people and possible chase void to the peak of the hand and witness that whole thing in the same way guts did with griff, but would similarly fail to change anything.
Void, now godhand, allows gaiseric to live as a sort of punishment (kingdom gone, unable to stop void in any capacity as his plans to build a new kingdom under griff unfold), or he otherwise escapes
You are assuming the stories are correct. For a being 1000 years old, how hard would it be to twist the story? What if Gaiseric was always good, but was taken out in a coup by the Sage/Void. Sage runs the kingdom into the ground Jafar style while blaming Gaiseric who is captive. Gaiseric knows the elves, so he must know magic. He could have called the 4 angels(elements) himself to destroy his corrupted kingdom. Void/Sage was the 5th, like Griffith, so he would have easy access to the physical world. The 5th angel was Void completing a ritual or maybe stealing the power of the actual 5th godhand, leaving him the lone survivor. The ritual goes off, but it is limited by the kingdom being destroyed.
@@CNNBlackmailSupport equally as possible. hope we find out one day.
@@kanyewest6539 Yep, I hope so too.
It just doesnt make sense that the King was evil, was punished for evil, then became good.
There are no characters who could say the same. If anything, evil becomes worse after punishment.
It's almost like being evil despite punishment is what gets you the "blessing" of the Godhand. Total corruption gets rewarded with power, not penalties.
Rick Ross i don’t think that skull knight was a friend of gaiseric, since he was not branded. He was not branded because he himself said that nobody ever escaped the eclipse and guts and caska where the first one, so if he was branded then he would be dead. However I think that void in his wiseman years always disliked gaiseric (SK) and they never where friends at all. But void did something bad that put him in prison and later even sacrificed something what was dear to him just like it was to gaiseric which creates they’re rivalry
How you predicted this is beyond me
Aristotle also added aether or quintessence to the classical water, fire, earth, and air elements to describe a medium in the void of space that light waves can travel through. :D
I personally think Void is the old king and Skull Knight was his right hand.
What happened to them is what's happening to Griffith and Guts now
very interesting theory dude, could definitely be plausible and this is a super cool take on Sk's and void's backstory. I think its even better than the theory at face value. Its so cool to incorporate causality and the idea of evil in this theory. I never thought about the deeper parallels between Griffith and void, this entire theory seems like something Miura himself would write. Very epic video my guy keep it up. I'll be tuning in on your berserk content in the future, im hooked.
Great theory man, very extensive.
You should write some stuff like a novel, cos this idea is not only very interesting and extensive, but also correct within itself.
Great vid bro
I haven't watched yet but really looking forward to your take on this; the scraps of backstory we have around Void, The Skull Knight and Gaiseric is the most fascinating in all Berserk imo
This is as solid of a theory as any other given so far, this one doesn't even have to stretch the known lore out that much at all to fit in comfortably. I believed a iteration of this will eventually happen because its seemingly leading up to that.
@RealLifeRyan I pretty much subscribe to this fan theory. The only thing really different in mine is that SK is Gaiseric’s son. This way Slan calling SK “your majesty” still makes sense since he would be a prince. I’m pretty much basing this on the The Princess Bride also because Void has six fingers like the guy Inigo wants to kill for killing his father. It’s probably not true but yea we gotta fill our time in between hiatus’s somehow lol. Awesome vid my dude
I was just thinking that, and it ties into the parallel with Guts' struggle very well I think. The idea that the Skull Knight used to be this supposed villainous tyrannical emperor doesn't really seem likely to me what with him going out of his way to save a random person like Luca out of nowhere during the Conviction Arc.
Great video bruh!
This is my take about skull king, void and flura.
Skull king had a right hand knight (void) and friend flora .void was in love with skull king wife (queen of the fairies in chapter 343) he tries to skip with her but king skull find out so he put him in prison. Flora was a talented mage. And skull king after he ruled the physical world he wanted to rule the astral world too. But he had no idea how to go there so he asked flora. Flora find out how to go there and she bring the first behelte thinking that she is helping skull king.
Now back to the jail where void is been tortured. Flora (casca of that time ) is void (guts of that time )and king skull fried (is grifith of that time ) she tried to help void but she find him semi dead she helped him to escape because he is her friend ( and she also have feelings for him but he loves king skull wife) he escaped but he also take the behelte that flora took from the astral world. He activated the behelte and law of causality because he was so disparate and he branded all of the kingdom and sacrificing everyone flora escape with her power and she also save king skull too. And that’s why flora is vanished from the mage village because she brought chaos to the physical world and she joined with king to stop void because both of them realized that the physical world need not join with the astral world because if it did humanity will disappear.
Latest chapter just confirmed (no surprise) that the Skull Knight is King Gaiseric.
How so?
my theory is that skull knight is guts who is from the first iteration of the godhand. my theory goes, ever 5 iterations of the eclipse, a "struggler appears" it mirrors the "5th godhand will bring a savior of man and demon " theme.
If you think about it skull knight has gotten further than guts ever will. Literally making a sword that can allow him to go into the astral world and back out. Skull knight is still fighting
My headcanon is that Geiseric feared the influence of the priest over the people and that's why he had him imprisoned. The brand of sacrifice might have been a religious symbol. It makes sense as far as you gotta sacrifice somebody you care about because the priest might have cared about his followers. And the appearance of the behelit in the physical world might have caused the destruction of the capital just like Griffiths did to the holy place thing. Anyone else has some fun theories?
My theory is that Mistress tried to revive her master - and that is the taboo. Gaiseric and Void was once a friend and they kind have a triangle with the girl who died in SK’s arm, yeah really like Griffith, Guts and Casca. And they have a bond of course, you can’t sacrifice something that isn’t important. And rhere are 5original angels, either SK was able to defeat the other 4 or they just vanished only to be reincarnated thru some real human.
it’s a good theory, but a little complex. I prefer the idea that Skull Knight is Gaiseric as it simplifies the story and better explains the hatred portrayed towards Void specifically.
I like to think that Gaiseric was powerful enough as just a human to battle the apostles, and that his armor was just armor; realising he couldnt keep fighting, Gaiseric asked a dwarf to give his armour teeth, to hold his bones together as he fought and better better aligning his furious od with the armor.
As for how Skull Knight appears and disappears at crucial moments like an astral being? pfft, I’m beat. Maybe he’s just that angry?
Believe it or not, I've had this same theory that Skull Knight isn't Gaiseric, but someone who wore his armor into battle, and Void was someone important in his court.
A soundly sane theory, flawless. Only, who will take the knight of skeleton's place if Gattsu is capable of changing his predetermined fate?
I was thinking exactly about the similarities between SK and Griffith these days. Very good vid, loved the theory!
could not avoid to laugh, knowing that skull knight was the king all along and it was so obvious since that panel was drawn.
My theory
1
I think that in berserker universe there is a god with light soon his four angels betrayed him and killed and sucked remained his hand only and this were casuality began.
2
Is the picture of former godhands are implying the 4 elemental angels and they are trying to create 5th angel that is the void or sage
3
Later a man like guts will terminate God hand concept in later berserk chapters if there is and that's how our new eras of development began
I believe Skull Knight was going to be a God Hand and rejected it. That's why he lost his look of human. Hence only 4 GH until Griffith showed up.
I feel like people often miss the mark on their interpretations of the Holy See in Berserk. Sure, they are portrayed as misguided and blind time and again, but I don't think the organization was meant to follow the God Hand's designs upon their inception. They have a prophecy about Griffith/Femto that portrays him as a bad figure, after all. This alone seems to put them on team humanity, to me, at least until they started being manipulated by the God Hand (via the Hawk of Light vision), and started being used to subvert their own values. Other than that, all the bigotry we've seen has more to do with people corrupting the organization from its original purpose (much like how Chrsitianity has been used by corrupt people to do some very un-Christian things) or generally being bigoted and using it as a shield for their behaviour.
In fact, the Holy See in its most basic form seems to me like a great way to fight against a supernatural threat in a world such as Berserk, by reinforcing the separation between the physical and astral planes using the sheer power of belief (or lack thereof). Everything the God Hand do seems to go diametrically opposed to what they originally intended. Separating people from the "good" intentioned spirits (if there even is such a thing, we've seen many times that spirits are actually very orange-and-blue when it comes to morality) was just a side-effect from trying to isolate humanity from EVERY supernatural influence.
This Void/Griffith - SK/Guts theory is actually kinda nice
2 days ago looked void up for his 'spatial manipulation' technique. I'm a writer and must say you'd make a fine one Ryan.
Liked and subscribed, because as a big Berserk fan, your theory holds a hell of a lot of water. I need a conclusion to this epic of storytelling.
here is a thought. slain (the female god hand. i cant remember if thats her name) could have called the skull knight majesty because people back then mistook SK as gaiseric due to both of them wearing skull shaped helmets
I actually laughed at the Void joke...
please release more chapters im addicted
Just finished up all the berserk chapters and waiting for the next 😢, but your vids make me feel better ♥️
Wow what a fascinating theory my guy, again this seems highly plausible and im amazed you came up with this beautifully connected story that ties up many mysteries in Berserk. I think this is must be close to what Muira had in mind due to causality and time working as a spiral so props for coming up with this. I do hope to see more theory vids as i love these, your monster manuals, and chapter reviews so keep up the good work👍👍
I like it, but where the small twist is, I don't think it's necessary to separate Skull Knight from being Gaiseric. Imagine in that prior cycle, Griffith of before - the man who would become Void - has the same self-espoused superiority complex that Griffith does. Whatever sets in motion Gaiseric's desire to unite all kindgoms is that same line of thought, "To be equals we cannot share the same dream; he should have a dream of his own." What then, would be the easiest way to prove to that man that Gaiseric was in every way his equal or better? Take his dream.
What I think is he, the man imprisoned, was forced to watch his better take his dream. The sins he proclaimed were the sins of betrayal. I think that for their time, like you said, it was a true fantasy world. Gaiseric and Void's Human Form were probably both somewhat versed in the supernatural, in the same way that Guts and Griffith at least have a brush or two with it during the Golden Age (obviously to a greater extent though). If Void's Human Form was the analog to Griffith, then he surely had followers who were not on board with Gaiseric's usurpation, probably like the man who became Zodd. We can speculate and hatch theories on this time period endlessly because we have so few details. I would think though, that in order for the stories of the Supreme King's sins to be heard of outside of the tower, that Human Void's words must have been getting passed along to those still loyal to him on the outside.
There were a couple of times where Guts could have killed Griffith. He didn't, due to causality, but in a very similar way he was responsible for the delay and the God Hand's intervention to fulfill Griffith's dream. By leaving the Band of the Hawk, and beating Griffith in their second duel, Guts proved Griffith didn't have the power to fulfill his dream alone. Without Guts's strength, many of Griffith's military strategies could not have worked, and honestly without Guts, Griffith could not have beaten Boscogn at Doldrey. Either way, if Guts had opted to usurp Griffith, similar to what I've said about Gaiseric, the result would have been the same. Griffith would have reached his lowest point, used the Behelit, and then become Femto.
Of course, my idea is just as fan fueled as yours, and also plays off of yours, so it's not you know, right. I would also point out that if life is a spiral, then either Void and Skull Knight already disrupted this cycle by becoming immortals cognizant of the cycle itself, or they also had supernatural "mentors" or foils so to speak in that time 1000 years ago. It'd be kind of silly if it went into one of those Naruto gaiden things where they literally show the exact precursor people in like 82 different incarnations, but it would be nice to know exactly where this cycle began. To me it has more the tone of Xenogears' cycle with Lacan, Sophia, and Karellen --> Fei, Elly, and Karellen again because he extended his life with nano-machines since he wasn't part of Deus's or the Zohar's cycle thing.
Not bad bro. I like the theory and I actually think it's not too far out there. Good vid. I'm subscribing
Had to come back to this after the recent chapter
Yeah, the video didn’t age well
This is some serious theorycrafting. Sounds very plausible!
This theory might be right, considering the first episode of 97 berserk says that since griffith became king, he has given up
TBH The skull knight not being gaiseric Throws this theory out the window I think it's mirrored. Guts for gaiseric had the behelit or the Scholar called upon the old god hand and was incarnated as void and gaiseric fought to prevent that
Only tangentially related, but the Greek elements also hold a fifth: Aether. It is the universal element that permeates all things, and is responsible for both light and gravity, and is the living essence of all things.
In Greek myth, Aether was also the air that the gods breathed as well as an entity unto itself, the son (or brother) of Erebus, hatched from the same Cosmic Egg, encircled by a snake composed of Time and Inevitability. Causality.
In Orphic lore, Phanes also hatched from this egg. Phanes means "Light-Bringer", much the same as the latin "Lucifer".
Who else do we know that is a bringer of light and hatched from a cosmic egg encircled by causality?
I herd a really good theory that the sage went behind the abyss that Flora mentioned and found the idea of Evil and had the first behelit
No, it's a fun theory! But we still don't know how Skull Knight's disembodied "soul" was sealed inside another set of armor, and not the Berserker Armor itself.
Kinda reminds you of _FullMetal Alchemist_ in some ways.
Has anyone explored skull knight being gaeseric right but flora being the sage? Void being the “guts” character? Flora kept saying she lived too long and that her and skull knight were old friends..
Maybe they are the same king, but berserk armor had his soul, so during that event, they became two. That one called Void because that form has no soul.
A theory I've been kicking around for awhile now is that the Skull Knight was a member of the Godhand who was the Griffith of his time, contrary to the idea that he was the Guts of his time.
He was made a member of the Godhand (the woman in his arms with the brand was his sacrifice), and was then granted incarnation. He united the world under one banner similar to how the world seems united by Griffith under the banner of Falconia. In time the sage who decried Gaiseric (Void) ascended to the Godhand at the nexus of their world (the tower of conviction) sparking a massive culling of humans and fracturing the world (and Gaiseric's kingdom). The amount of people sacrificed was substantially large and traumatic to the existing human world, and is directly correlated with Void's prominent role/power within the Godhand (because it served as a greater tribute to the Idea of Evil as a much more evil act). It then follows that Griffith can't go back to the Godhand as Femto and reside there like Void/Slan/Conrad/Ubik, and that the interacting flow between material/astral generally trends out as opposed to in (many behelits kicked out to material world > humans allowed in). He may, in time, have the same fate as the Skull Knight. Have his toybox taken away, forced to wander the land until the end of days.
0ne RING to rule then all!!!!
Oh, you said king......... 🤗
Best theories I ever heard
Debunk: “Your Majesty” - Slan to Skull Knight
Thought provoking, though
I love this theory ❤ awesome video man
It’s an interesting idea that the Godhand are the evil versions of the elemental kings of the world that were born of people’s fear of magic and nature’s capacity for destruction. The only thing missing here, regarding the Godhand’s origins, is an explanation for why the Godhand members have changed over time.
Man, I was so happy to see the Skull Knight at the end of the latest chapter.
im only on chapter 90 and was thinking that guts and skull night are pretty much the same. glad you pieced my thoughts together lol
Miura: "Take this down, take this down!"
Bro if you're right and Miura finds out about this we're never gonna get a new chapter lmaooooooo
Skull night is Geiseric and it's not debatable.
