Total Overdose speedrun tutorial

This video goes through the entire current route for Total Overdose any%.

This run is somewhat simple so I explained most things more deep than they probably need to be explained :D

Great video man! Super in depth and really informative, I’m really trying to get into the run I want to make sure I’ve got the game running as optimally as possible, what version of windows do you run with this? The game seems to be running ok on windows 10 but I am having some sound glitches

Not sure if you will see this but, whenever I move my mouse, the sensitivity just accelerates randomly and moves very fast for no reason, please help me fix that. I have a logitech G502 and have enhance pointer precision turned off. Thanks! 🙏
EDIT: I finally figured it out, it was much simpler than what I thought. All I had to do was lock the game's fps to my monitor's refresh rate! for example, a 144Hz monitor = lock fps at 144

How can i have my timer on top of the game? Seems like the game only works full screen no matter widescreen is installed or not

I used to run game fullscreen on one window and timer on another, and just using OBS to put it over a game. When I play in single-monitor setup and can't get windowed running I just don't see timer but it still runs properly and OBS captures it

I've played this game since I was a kid and I know some things that might help the speedrunning comunity so here they are:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. You can drive a taxi if you kill the driver first
2. If you press shift or space you can cancel the slow motion in the shotdodge
3. It might be slightly faster if you shotdodge into the plane door on the first mission
4. A risky strat would be in the good son level where after you kill the enemies if you finish the level on the part with the trailer,you can climb on the trash bags and jump over the wall,but it's pretty hard to pull of consistently

I hope you didn't already know all of these, i might add more if i remember. And also is speedrunning with the 1920x1080 resolution patch legal or will the run be disqualified?

Didnt know about 1 actually. Everything else I knew about or mentioned. About patch, as far as it doeant change version of a game and just unlocks resolutions it should be fine.

1:09:30 hmmm sometimes i am getting toro there instead of mariachi, why is that? i don't know what to do if i get to that part without mariachis and the game gives me toro instead

it won't give you toro if you have 2 of them there.

as far as you exit previous mission with 5k points and 1 Toro, you'll get 1 more toro for points, capping you at 2 and essentially then will prioritize giving you mariachi (or whatever else you are missing). Atleast that's how I always observed it working.

It should be the same
Being able to autosplit on each individual mission/challenge could be a nice thing for sure. Too bad I haven't been playing it recently.

@@Tezur0 i made it split on each mission/challenge and added a optional feature to also split on each fertilizer tank you destroy, each truck you return and allso segmented the last mission into 2 segments (wagons and turret chase)

There's no autosplitter, only load-removal tool
