    Great video! I just worked on one of my rusted hickory clubs. Fabulous to be able to read everything stamped on the head for the first time. Next time I will use gloves because it stains your hands a bit.

    Considering I have no interest in restoring old golf clubs (I haven't the patience), this is pretty darned interesting. Actually found this while looking up featheries and gutta percha balls.
    Now I kinda wanna go find some old hickory clubs

      If you'd like to know about feathery and gutty balls I'm your man! What would you like to know?

      @@timewarpgolf Oh, I watched all of your videos on those subjects....very interesting, thanks for putting them up! You pretty much answered all of the questions I had. Didn't know much about either of those types of balls, got to googling and wound up on your channel. I think it started with the video from 2007 and I went from there.
      I kid you not, after I watched a bunch of those, I felt like I wanted to go play golf with some old sticks and an old ball, although probably would reach for either a gutta or maybe a Haskell....I need all the help I can get!

    Glad I found your channel (and subscribed). Seems like my milled (sp) clubs start rusting within an hour or so after I clean the original rust. Is there any way to treat the club to prevent rust? Thank you!

      a few ways... cover the metal parts in an oil type spray...WD40 is a brand we use here in UK....or smear with beeswax furniture polish...or cover with polyurethane varnish...

      @@timewarpgolf thank you. I have WD 40 so I will try it out.

    How would you clean deeply pitted clubheads Gavin?

    • @timewarpgolf
      @timewarpgolf  3 роки тому

      Hmmm...tricky...you can grind them back using very rough sandpaper or mechanical sander/ grinding wheel...but you will risk losing the stampings and quite significantly reduce the swingweight. The other thing I've done is painted the head with lots of PU varnish before poising back so it improves the aesthetic look of the head without altering it majorly. Regards, Gavin.
