I’m totally okay with the date. I prefer it, even find it charming, like a unique quirk. But I want a great on the fly adjustment clasp if they are hiking the price up and up without tightening the accuracy tolerances.
I have a steel on steel Tag Heuer Aqua Racer Calibre 5 with blue dial as a daily and I have been on the market for a simple looking, affordable, and decently sized daily diver in black! Could not find any but this one ticks all the boxes! Just ordered it!
I have an Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean and a Brietling Superocean II, but the watch I wear most often day to day is my Seiko solar dive chronograph, I've had it for 10 years and just recently had it fully overhauled and restored to new condition, the only change I made to it was to replace the original bezel which has the first quarter in blue with the prospex all black bezel. Such a good and tough watch, and it often gets compliments.

At first I wasn't sure about Seiko's new models either. worried there is an issue like the previous models. last week, I saw this model in a boutique in my place. I tried this watch on there. I'm not sure, this watch is the same as in other boutiques or not. The bracelet is much more comfortable than the older 62 mas. The bezel alignment is also in the right place. Did seiko really upgraded their product on this model? 😅
I wonder why the gilt and the blue ones have black date window and not the same color as the dial. Imagine a no date version, that would bring this one to (almost) Tudor level.
Tried these on in an AD last week. Somehow they feel significantly more premium. I was seriously debating upgrading from the 147. The new bezel is a big improvement and the case wears so much better even though the changes are small. The dial symmetry really helps too. This thing will absolutely slay as soon as they release the 147 + 143 equivalents

No. What we really need is a certified quality control and movement accuracy to justify the prices. The -6000 - +50000 seconds per day policy is annoying cause you never know if you get a good or bad one and in addition they still misaligne their bezels and even dials on a regular basis. This just has to stop. Nobody needs 3 days power reserve if the accuracy totally goes down the drain after less the one day of winding your watch. I own 6 Seikos and I love them but I can't ignore the facts.
Alguien me podria decir cuanto sale en dolares cualquiera de estos relojes ??? Me gusta el de bisel amarillo..donde podria comprarlo ??? Muchas gracias.
The 3 days text bashing is getting annoying, basically every new single mid tier Prospex and Presage will have the text, we have to get over it , it is not worst than the original text Dialshock 24 jewels
Overall very nice. BUT, I won't own another Seiko Prospex until they update their clasp and get rid of that damn diver extension and replace it with one that looks, functions, and wears a lot better and looks worthy to be on a premium $1k
I want to like seiko watches, but the bracelets and clasp like you mentioned just ruin it for me. Idk how I feel about an aluminum bezel as well. Overall very nice, but don’t think I’ll be spending my money with seikos watches until the clasps and bracelets get updated
@@josephcastillo6742 regarding the bezel. I personally like an aluminum or steel bezel over ceramic. I know less scratch proof. I would say they are not necessarily less durable. Ceramic can crack where as metal may get dented, but it should still hold. In either scenarios, if watch bezel insert takes hard enough impact to crack the ceramic or dent a metal one, it won't be a good thing. But, the finish of a metal insert looks better to me, too.
Well said!! They make the worst bracelets and clasps yet charge $1400!! Then they’ll put this clasp on their Grand Seiko and charge $10K!! Lol 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
I tend to dislike the 4:30 date window particularly because the numbers arent aligned with the wearer's eye and if the shape of the window matches the indicies it's pretty awful. Having it like this or like B&R do it is as good as it gets.
@@TheAlbert12397 Fair enough. There's a lot of choices to be had. Personally I'm not in the market for more divers so that's why I'm out. I could still understand someone liking this.
The black and gold is really nice. I'll say this again and again...Seiko needs to fire whoever designs their bracelets and clasps. This bracelet is better but the clasp looks cheap.
I seriously hope that it’s a 120 click bezel and the offset (read: misaligned) pip on the 455 shot at 2:46 is just one click offset and not the real watch as it shipped…
There will be SRPK99K1 soon. There are SRPD51K1, SRPD55K1, SRPD57K1, SRPD65K1. But to be honest, nothing is close enough, as those are seiko 5s, with different braclet, different finishing, different movement. They are not 62mas remakes. Usually these are sold with 4r36 (day+ date). 4r36's accuracy is -35/+45 seconds per day, hovewer they are more accurate. PR is 41 hours, wr is only 100m. 6r55 is -15/+25 seconds per day, with 72 hours power reserve. You might want try spb147J1, cheaper than new 62mas versions. With 6r35 movement.
@@tebetmania Seiko 5s are not real diver watches, I would say they are diver style watches. Orient Kamasu/Mako are better as diver watches. Seiko 5 has usually 100m water resistance, Kamasu has 200m. Kamasu has sapphire, that is much better. The movemenet is F6922, with ~40 hours power reserve, accuracy is -15/+25 seconds/ day. Bezel is good compared to its price, finishing is good compared to price, movement is good compared to price, sapphire is a huge advantage. Screw down crown. The bracelet can be the the issue, but probably better than seiko 5s entry level bracelets. I would chose Orient Kamasu over Seiko 5. But I wouldn't say they look like 62Mas. Kamasu has day and date, the hands are different, and of course the finishing is also different etc. etc.. Orient Kamasu is a good, cheaper, entry level diver. In most of the cases better than Seiko 5. Try one newer version with sapphire crystal, you get good value for your money. (There were a lot of Mako versions in the past) But never forget these are automatic watches. If you don't have an automatic watch there are things you need to consider. The accuracy of a quartz watch is better, you can put down a quartz for days and they won't stop. Usually automatic watches are thicker, especially divers. I beleive there are two options: you can buy an Orient, or you save money and buy a more expensive watch. There are microbrands out there (Christopher Ward, Baltic), there are the Seiko prospex watches, there are Seiko turtle or Samurai watches (look different, the case style is different than 62MAS). And there are brands like Certina or Mido. In the Orient Kamasu price range Kamasu is a very good watch or can be the best.
These upgrades are amazing and the watches look even better proportioned than their predecessors. How glossy/shiny would you say the 455 gilt is in person? Is it comparable to the SPB147 in terms of looks?
I seriously think that some watch companies give these text details to just anyone. So many brands get this wrong. Put more things on the back of the watch keep the dial clean
I prefer the 143. A future classic. Firstly, I like its dimensions and I definitely don't want a smaller watch. Next, the gray dial and brushed bezel look stunning. Finally, only two micro-adjustments on the clasp of the new watch is pathetic for a diver. I don't care for 300m and smaller links on the bracelet. 143 for me and I will buy a second one for my personnal collection.
They could've just gotten rid of that stupid power reserve line, move the text up, maybe shave a tiny little bit off of the hour marker at 6 o clock and put the date window there. This is just terrible, not only is the date too small, it's also in the worst possible spot, in my opinion.
