I just cant get passed the unnecessary use of so many different shapes on the dial, triangle markers, rectangle markers, 2 odd circle markers, diamond hamd, its reminds me of childs shape learning toy!
Longines recent offerings have been A+. Reminds me of another brand…is Longines now the primary challenger to Tudor in the < 5K bracket? Happy thanksgiving, Bruce! Hope you have a good one!!
I like Longines as a brand and have owned a few in the past. I like most of what this watch offers. I like the price. Sub 3K for what is offered, compared to other competitors, near or above this price point, is inviting. Also, Longines is a well thought of brand with history, heritage, and great designs in its catalog. The only negative I have are the two round indices at the 6 and 9. To me they just look so out of place against the other stick indices. Again, just to me and my eyes, this really messes with the design of the dial and makes it look uneven. When I look at the dial, instead of seeing the design as a whole, my eyes go right to the round markers. They just look so out of place. A strong offering but just not for me. Once I see something, I just can't unsee it.
Just read your comment after leaving mine on the same subject, replace 9&6 with stick markers then have a round date window if needed at 6 or 9, I don't get it.
I bought the blue from exquisite. It’s so badass!! If you’re thinking it’s to big you have to try it on. It wears surprisingly well for an almost 50mm lug to lug.
Kind of annoyed by the constant reference to "true GMT". It's not a true GMT at all since that has no definition. It's not like any of the original GMT watches, it's unable (unlike those originals) to display any timezone other than full hours, omitting 2 billion of the world's population, and when telling the time it operates indistinguishably from the variant which has a quickset 24h hand. Also, adjusting the date - if this is one watch in a collection of several and you don't own enough winders - is kind of a pain.
So I have a Tudor, an Omega and a Rolex, and I would have never considered a Longines watch until this release. I certainly will be purchasing this soon. I typically don’t go backwards in my watch collecting from more expensive to less expensive, but that gilt on green with a true divers GMT and a matching datewheel is too good to pass up. Where was this watch when I started my journey?
Round indices at 9&6 seem strange, surely replacing them with the existing indices and having a round date window at six or 9 would of been more balanced.
Thinking of grabbing the brown variant of this, nice review, the nato looks incredible with the finish of the case and bezel. Did you purchase the nato separate?
What a beauty! I was (well..I am) saving for a Tudor, but this might take its place. The ceramic bezel and adjusting clasp take it to a whole new level, and at that price it seems like a no brainer (comparing to what other brands are offering in the same price range). But on a braclet of course. That "nato" screams cheap to me, and those crooked stitches don't belong on a 3k watch.
I got two complaints; 1) Zulu time has the quick-change strap function. Why not here???? 2) Not a complaint but…is it okay to just dump the connection with previous HC design?
Lovely watch i think they got it spot on, one thing they should have made a safety latch for the clasp then 100% perfect. i wish though you had showed the caseback better. but as always good video ! thanks
I've just bought this exact model. And it is a fantastic watch. The Nato strap changes the game and sparks many “Hey I like that watch” This is an everyday wearable and even can be worn in a smart casual setting like the office or a get together I love the Nato strap set-up too, as I wear bracelets usually it's a refreshing change and very comfy to wear. A happy addition to my ongoing collection.
I don't know if i like the green or the new brown version they did better. (I'm leaning towards brown only because I don't think there are many watches with that color).
I have the same problem with you two weeks ago, I go to boutique to see the real thing. AB side by side comparison between Green and Brown. Finally, I picked the Green. You should go to the shop and try the real thing before you order. It won't be wrong. But in Hong Kong, the Green is hard to see in display, it need to wait for the stock.
Why the GMT hand shake when you move the hour hand? also the case finishing is basic, all brushed with no polished details, for a watch at this price range they should've done better. I prefer Zulutime over this one, more attention to detail and better overall design.
Well I took Bruce's advice and bought this exact watch on a bracelet from Exquisite Timepieces. The watch has to be ordered from Longines, and I hope that it will be mailed to me in two weeks.
The only thing about that movement that bothers me is having to cycle through the hours to set the date after not wearing it for a while. No quick set date.
That's how a true GMT movement works. Can't have it all, unfortunately. It is not that bad imo and in fact it has the advantage of also rolling the date back, which is something that most quick set dates don't do.
Can we stop normalizing "true GMT" since there is no such thing as a false GMT. Traveller/Caller GMT distinguish the difference clearly without implying one is better than the other.
I'll not do that as a original term 'dual time' is simply descriptive... good for keeping track of a secondary time zone. It's a less capable version of the original complication. The term true gmt is non discriminatory and likewise fully descriptive. Some may be offended by this but it's a pretty silly thing to get offended by
I frequently use my true GMT when traveling, and the "true" variant is incredibly helpful whereas the "office" style is an inconvenience. Additionally, you might want to educate yourself on the GMT as the previous commenter suggested. Are you the guy that got offended with the term "colourway"?
@@BruceWilliams I think Breitling presents a great opportunity in the used market. The Premier B01 for example from 2021 I saw yesterday in reverse panda was a bargain at just over $6k . For watches like the Superocean and even the new Avenger, the spec needs to be greater at that price point . The Longines legend diver is 70 hour reserve, it’s COSC certified and I feel like you’re getting a lot for your money.
A GMT function on a diver makes sense. Who doesn't travel to dive right? Gotta go bracelet 😊 Longines is a fun boutique to visit these days.
I just cant get passed the unnecessary use of so many different shapes on the dial, triangle markers, rectangle markers, 2 odd circle markers, diamond hamd, its reminds me of childs shape learning toy!
these new Longines models are really looking good!!

Watching this while wearing my HC GMT Black and bracelet 🥰😍
I bought the blue from exquisite. It’s so badass!! If you’re thinking it’s to big you have to try it on. It wears surprisingly well for an almost 50mm lug to lug.
Agreed, a really nice fit. Not too large not too small
I brought this green one one week ago, wearing everyday. Love it.
Excellent
It looks amazing. Good choice.

Agreed. It's a misleading, clichéd shibboleth.

Can you please do the Longines master collection? The watch with the salmon dial.
The new gold tone one is amazing!
Thinking of grabbing the brown variant of this, nice review, the nato looks incredible with the finish of the case and bezel. Did you purchase the nato separate?
They nailed it; so much better than the previous incarnation
When they bring out the smaller size it will be my holiday watch, unless Tudor does a thinner GMT Pelegos in 39mm which I highly doubt they can....
Hope they do make a non gmt version, a no date would be so symmetrical and beautiful too!
No date would be amazing

I definitely think the bracelet is the way to buy this watch
It's would look good on a green Artem sailcloth strap.
That green looks magnificent.
It looks too much like a sub now, that's why I prefer the Zulu time
I have both Zulu Time and Hydroconquest GMT, from time to time, I love this Diver Version more.
I got two complaints;
1) Zulu time has the quick-change strap function. Why not here????
2) Not a complaint but…is it okay to just dump the connection with previous HC design?
Good looking watch.
Nice watch. Great brand. Not liking the markers at 6 and 9, nor the Nato strap.
Agree!
Since it only has a few mm of micro adjust, do you think I’d have any issue with getting the perfect size?
I hope they make a 39mm.
That green looks amazing. A classic vintage look.
I would love a comparison with San Martin's new GMT. Not a homage but similar and only $250.
The marker make me OCD from square to circle and it is not even balanced.
The round indices at 6 and 9 are unforced errors. Did an adult make that decision?
Why do longines put an inferior bracelet on the non gmt diver?
Nice review, thank you Bruce 🙂👍. Watch is beautiful. Love the green.
Lovely watch i think they got it spot on, one thing they should have made a safety latch for the clasp then 100% perfect. i wish though you had showed the caseback better. but as always good video ! thanks
Thank you!
I just couldn't get over the 6 and 9 circle markers. if the markers were different with a 6 oclock date, it would already be on my wrist.
It is inspired on Longines Admiral diver from back in the day. Same markers at 6 and 9.
I'm torn between the blue, brown and green. Which would you go for?
Yeah, I get it. I bought the green dial.
I think steel belt matches better
Nice video... and a top watch....

Nice watch, recalled. It would have been a killer on the mat green colour. I love my HC with that dial
It was recalled? What was the issue?
Question is, is it better finished etc than a Monta gmt ??
I would give the nod in finishing to Monta
I don't know if i like the green or the new brown version they did better. (I'm leaning towards brown only because I don't think there are many watches with that color).

Yes, I really want to see the brown in person too. It's definitely a color not done enough

The crown guards on the original were a deal breaker for me. These are so much nicer. It is a beautiful watch. Personally, I would want the bracelet.

Yes, no quickest can be annoying if you don't keep your watches running

Looks great. Do you know if Longines offers a brown leather strap for this watch?
I don't think they do, but I'm sure you could buy a leather from Longines that would be compatible
@@BruceWilliams - Thanks for replying.
What is this strap? Original longines?
What is the accuracy of this watch?
First here - gimme a free t-shirt! Beautiful watch. Longines hits another homerun.

Learn the history of GMT before being too proud of ignorance

Confidently incorrect lol
BTW did you know this is a true GMT! 😂😂😂
Longines are doing everything right that Breitling are not.
Really. Personally thing both are making some great watches right now
Agree with Adam. Big fan of both brands overall. Like some models more than others
@@BruceWilliams agreed, just look at the new Navitimer. Can’t think of a better version they’ve made….stunning watch, same with the AVI line

too bad its not 40mm with 47mm lug to lug like the pre ceramic rolex submariners.
otherwise way too chunky for my wrists. this is excellent however.
Believe me, as Longines listen to customers, they will issue the 39mm version next year.
