- Mr. Goodpliers catches the bids and auction action in Galva Kansas! Check out cars, trucks and tractors from the 1920s to 50s, and see... what did I buy?
that 49 Fleetline is a beauty. the 48 Packard was a beauty also.
The auctioneer is amazing. He takes his time, has humor and can motivate the potential buyers.
He's definitely our favorite, but doesn't schedule as full a roster as other auctioneers do.
We invited him to my high school graduation party and he came
that was a great auctioneer
Awesome Video thank you so much for taking us long thank you for the video
Great vidio. Thanks
A lot of amazing vehicles for sale at this auction, great video, and thanks for sharing Mr. Goodpliers
always luv your auctions you go too as you always show the price what they sold for and even what you paid for some you got!!!thanks
listening to that auctioneer would drive me insane
It's supposed to.
Great video, I wish I was there,
My 59 chevy pickup has a throttle cable!
Awesome auction loved every minute! Was hoping you would get the Packard. But very nice chevy
Well bought on the '49 ,sir! Sure do wish I could find out where these auctions are,,,,😂
prices are CREEPING SKYWARD
What a sale!
Had to reach deep in your pockets to buy anything at this Auction. Understand cutting loose of the 49 Chevy. Lot of money to tie up in one car with other cars you want down the road. Thanks for sharing 💯👊
Land o' lakes,wi......here ! ..................best vids on cars AGAIN.......we like what you do,,...tnx,,pat & family.
The 58 Del Ray was the deal of the day
I thought these beautiful cars went pretty cheap...compared to the rust buckets in some of your other auction videos. You chose well....too bad you couldn't keep it
Mr. B. Here ! Mr. G. You made you good buys any way !👍👍👍👍👍👍
The auctioneer was really good
love the auctions thanks
..that Packard's sharp...good bidding though!...:)
The DelRay was the deal of the day. Congrats on the 49 too, can’t keep ‘em all. I’m sure you’ll find another one.
Most trucks up until maybe 55 had the Choke and Throttle cables to the carbs too.
Like watching the videos that show the items selling
Reminded me of the best parting shot at an estate auction 30 years ago from Randy Smith ( AAA R@J a legend in his time). After an unbelievable 20 hrs of auctioning , the wrap up was at 3am, he takes off his cowboy hat ( of course) and declares " Now get this junk outta here"
Very cool!!!! 👍👍
Lots of good buys here including the 1958 DelRay which sold for $6500.00. For comparison sake I looked back at your year old video of a Chevrolet dealers vintage auction, with all their cars being in mint condition. One of those cars was a 58 DelRay which sold for $11500.00. Both DelRays appear to be in equally as good shape,
The one here was significantly worse. It had rust in the lower quarters, and tire well, plus the front fender was scraped. The one at Hill City was by far the better car
@@mr.goodpliers6988 Didn't realize that. Maybe the one at the dealership was worth the extra $5000.00. This one was still in better shape than most and had only 53000 miles.
My family and I saw this in the 1060s at farm auctions - Auctions being stuffed with old cars, trucks, farm equipment, and other merchandise from various sources to make the farm auctions look plump and ripe for the picking... however, it was a ruse. We would see the same things time and again at other auctions, and the same cars too. It was then we realized that the auctions were a gimmick and a con. I have a hunch that online bids are nothing more than a way to fatten up the price when auction buyers aren't bidding the kinds of prices the auctioneer wants to see. After all, he gets a commission! They are still playing this game with people up to this day.
Yep.... Its called Shilling
FUNNY... I HIT MULTIPLE SUCTIONS WEEKLY, HAVE BEN GOING TO AUCTIONS FOR 5O YEARS AND SEE NOTHING LIKE THAT....
They certainly sold cheap based on Mecum auctions but then I never did believe the Mecum and the others were legit. The Del Ray was exceptional. Very rare to see such a budget old 4 door sedan car in that condition. Probably one of the nicest almost all orginal ones on the planet. Sorry you had to sell the 49 Chevy.😢
Remember where Mechem is. It take $2k-$3k to get these cars anywhere from where they are.
Thanks!
That auctioneer is great
He is our favorite
Excellent video. I hope all of those cars got new owners that will drive them. If the man that was explaining the throttle control to you was the owner, I believe he did keep them in running condition. After some maintenance, many of them would have been great spare, short-trip cars.
He was the mechanic/caretaker for the collection
Yup, working class small business life pretty much a process of desperate survival but I'm at the other end now and gotta say the 5 cars I struggled mightily to keep kept me sane and real glad I still have them. Save yer favorites otherwise life leaves you less than a cup of cold spit.
I was rootin for you to get the Runabout. Sorta got the feeling there were some back up bidders in the mix.
That was my favorite car. Everything about it was just... right.
Can't believe they didn't start those cars up just before selling. No way I would have bid on any of them either without hearing them run.
Sorry you couldn't keep the 49 Chevy as it seemed like a nice one. My Uncle had an early 50s Dodge panel van that he used in his refrigeration business. I rode with him once for us to cut two Christmas trees out in the country. His had that same throttle knob. He would get up to 50 or so on the two lane highway and pull out that throttle and I guess it was early cruise control as long as the road was flat it would maintain the approximate speed. Hope you kept the IH freezer. The old appliances are so well built and unique.
That auctioneer squeezed every last nickel out of each sale, I reckon that's his job but he just wore it out...
This auctioneer is good, seem to be working alone, but pulling bids on each and every car gets old when you are waiting on a car wayyyy down the line.
Rich mans
auction
Lewis Martin ! Mr. B. Here ! As vehicles number go down the price go’s up that is market ! And some vehicles that may little or no work price is high ! 🚗🚗🚗🚗👍👍🚗🚗🚗🚗
These sold for a fraction of the cost to restore a rough one to the level that they were
What year was the beautiful 1930s Buick? Amazing car.
Like to find a early 40's chevrolet or ford truck for a project I have in mind had an old 30's model stolen from chicken coop when I was young kid they stole my coin operated horse along with the truck
That's a bummer you had to sell it that was a nice car.
Amazese me how people like the man continues to stand in front of video recorder and he is not even bidding on the 1934 Buick
Why do the auction companies tape vehicle data papers to painted surfaces and then the tape cooks in the sun ? It makes no sense to me when there are windows side,/front that can be clean easier and safer from damaging paint
That auctioneer is taking too long on each car a few hundred more. Take the first bid on the first car and set off a bidding frenzy on the rest. I like the 58 Delray and the burgundy Buick sedan.
It has to be that way when there is online bidding. There's a lag on the internet connection, so they take a little extra time to make sure no bids are missed.
Also, when the vehicles are selling under market like these did... he wants to make sure no one's sleeping on a deal
@@mr.goodpliers6988 good points, not much competitive bidding by farmers, I’m surprised if you don’t get internet bids from the Swedes or Danes. The Delray was a nice survivor example.
Jeep was a buy
It sold online. I really wanted to talk to the person who bought it. Hopefully it gets restored back to its combat specs and appearance.
You’ve mentioned your bad luck a few times. Can you elaborate?
An unfortunate health circumstance which remains unresolved for the indefinite future
I hope it all works out ok for you 👍
Wow, some that have unbroke engins that run on their own power?
Amazingly, every vehicle drove out on the field
To rich for me....they auctioned some very nice cars & trucks.... especially the cars that were original
They all sold for a fraction of what it would cost to restore any of them
IF YOU GOT THE 49 CHEVY / YOU GOT THE RIDE / WHAT A CAR BUILT SOLID AND MADE TO RUN / BUT PLEASE DON'T SAY THE WORD "REALLY " AFTER SOME ONE TELLS YOU SOMETHING / IT MAKES YOU OR ANY PERSON SOUND PHONY AND I MEAN PHONY / NOW I DON'T KNOW YOU / BUT FROM WATCHING YOUR CHANNEL THE ONE THING I DO KNOW ABOUT YOU IS , YOU ARE NO PHONY, FOR SURE ! / BUT IT SOUNDS SO PHONY WHEN ONE SAY " REALLY " ?
Stole that!!
When was the auction? Prices seemed ok, but it wasn't the crowd like in Ft Collins and some others.
This was in May of 2022.
All of these cars sold for a fraction of what it would have cost to restore them. Each one was a nice survivor, or a quality restoration. This will be one of those "once in a decade" or perhaps a generation, sales.
@@mr.goodpliers6988 Thanks for the info, Tim.
We’re do you get time to work on any of these vehicles you buy 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔.
do you have a website where you sell your cars ??
Not yet, but I have it on my list to work toward that
koooooooooool
I can't believe how cheap the '48 Packard and '34 Buick went. You can't even get a front clip for a 1970's clown muscle car for that kind of money
extremely cheap for cars in this condition
Yep
To long on each vehicle 🙀🤦🏼
