Aquarium Co-Op i have a painter turtle, few years old, humanitarian save mission. Everything i watch has to do with fish and i dont have a fish yet, just started a tank have yet to put some of my plants in (80 year old vines, philodondrons) will wait till its seasond as you say in cycling vid. Once a week i do a total water change and scrub the tank and everything in it and rinse. Massive undertaking and i know nobody else changes water that much. New tank will likely have snails, alge control not eliminator style setup as it will be for helping with the turtle. Running 6 filters and massive airstones in a small tote. Few lights, heat uv, florecent tubes and plant light. (living area is a jungle). Turtles are messy and mine is quite rambunctious to say the least. Trying to get an 8ft x 4ft x 2ft pond thing from Ireland holds 1000 litres. Cant set up a swimming pool in my aprtment but i can do a pond linner as my landlord knows and loves my 🐢. So wont be able to just pick this thing up like a 50 gallon tank and clean like im use to. Unfortunately i dont think i know enough about what i need to be doing, other than i want the best for my turtle and go to the extreme. The more you can inform the better me and my critter are, as I dont have anywhere else to turn to. The most i have at access is a walmart 😒.

Running two companies and 2.5 fishrooms keeps me busy and guessing...! Absolutely LOVE it and wouldn't change anything...! Loving what y'all are doing for the hobby...! Hey Cory, the next time you have turtle eggs, my family learned when we bread bearded dragons that it is easier to put a mark with a marker on the actual top of the egg to make sure it keeps the same orientation. Always worked when the eggs were fertile.
Yeah I know of that trick. I don't do it because I know the egg membrane releases and takes in moisture and feel that some of the chemicals from the marker can get inside. I'm just careful when I move them.

All of the animals must be very happy with you taking care of them. It is very hard for angel fish and turtles to breed in captivity. But they must be happy to be with you. Keep up the great work. Take it easy.
Squirrel pee is the worst! As an Australian the first time I saw a squirrel I was so excited, until it ran up my leg to try and get the food I was holding ... And it peed all down my leg 😂 was not fun at the time but it makes for a great travel story! Keep up the awesome work! Love your channel

make a ghettobater out of an old cooler, those eggs won't survive where they are, make sure they stay oriented in the same direction EDIT: oh, i should have just kept watching, carry on
Candle your eggs by putting a flash light on the egg so the light can shine through and If you dont see red blood vessels or the egg is just yellow that it's infertile

for the betta tank, what if you put the tank a a slight angle so the mulm ends on one side. be easier to manage/remove that way. or maybe thats a terrible idea... i only take credit if it works! ;)

The Turtles are so cool :) I had a small taste of what it must be like for you daily Cory, Someone wanted to buy 30 of my f1 yellow tail fry about to sell and I asked, you do have fry food yea, and he said no ill just feed them my flake food.... so I decided to dig a little deeper, Is the tank heated and filtered yes? "No but they do not need it do they? They are cold water fish" ........... Sorry mate I cant sell to you, then educated him a little and gave him some videos to watch lol oh also the tank was just brought and filled up 1 hour prior lol you must get this so much
Yeah, I typically don't bother cause if they are fertile they'll hatch. If not they wont. If I had like 100 eggs and was running out of space to incubate them for sure I would.
While I'm not turtle expert, Lamont taught me to use lots of tanins from wood or catappa leaves to fix it and I haven't had issues with it but I always run tanins also.

I just bought another pack of filter media, it's Fluval 500G Biomax Bio Rings, I guess I just picked up the wrong box. I didn't really look, I just went in and grabbed a box and walked out (I normally order online). Will that still fit in my Aquaclear 30? They're pretty good sized rings, I've never used anything bigger than what the filter came with itself.

With the filter for the gold fish you could put some sponges on top of the pvc so there's more mechanical filtration

I haven't really considered it as I"m not sure how it would help. Possibly if I put gravel on it and ran it in reverse.

Actually I don't feed shrimp anything intentionally. They most want to eat bacteria.
