Excellent idea to have a QR code for a translation. I’m originally from Wisconsin. I have lived here (Prévost) for 40 years so I don’t really notice if I’m reading French or English anymore. But, I think they should have translations. The history is very interesting and tourists are missing out! (I watched the 'part 2' first…lol).
What an amazing trip. I love how you and John surround yourselves with such positive people, that makes life that much richer 💗 Can't wait to read your book on "Age is just a number." Just saying 😁 Continued blessings, and thank you for sharing such an incredible trip. Blessings, Yvonne 🥰
It’s so good to see you guys in our region. We leave in Gatineau and we used to have a Pleasure Way Plateau and we have been following you since we bought our class B in 2020. We wish you a nice bike ride on « Le Petit train du Nord » and enjoy the rest of your trip in Canada. 👍
I recommended this rail trail to you and John on your Jan. 21 video - Answers, Channel Update, Finding Balance. We were to do it in 2020 with friends but that did not happen. Next year 😀 It is about a 9 hour drive from our house in Southern Ontario. I am glad you enjoyed it!
Hi Deb--Google translate is a great tool (IF you have cell service). Open Google, select the camera icon, point it at the text you want to translate. At the bottom of the screen scroll to Translate. I use it when traveling to read menus. Hope this helps!
Yes, it's great if you can copy and paste but not so much if you are trying to interpret long paragraphs of texts on a sign. Would be great if you could take a picture and then have it translate. There's probably an app for that.
I'm not an expert, but I think that's what you can do. I was able to aim it at a paused sign on my TV, pushed the shutter button and it pretty much translated everything into English for me
Merci beaucoup pour votre video. Je n'ai aucun problème de comprendre même le français canadien. Enjoy your mainly sunshine bike rides. I have been enjoying four days of heavy rain in Normandy (today: Fécamp). No biking possible 😥.
We just returned from Quebec and completed the Petit Train du Nord. Your comment on signage is telling, we don’t speak French either. I have yet to see QR codes across the US that provide French or Spanish translation on historic plaques, etc. So, while I agree with you, this is not uncommon and across the States. Love your channel.
From one bike rider to another, how did you keep the bikes charged along the route? I agree with you, I was thinking the same thing when seeing the signage along the route how much us English Speaking people would be missing.
I am subscribed and have been watching your videos. May have missed some. It's September now and summer is over. Do you have actime frame when your new van is ready? George hasn't posted videos in a few weeks.
I am really enjoying this adventure. A few questions: how many kilometers did you bike each day? Were you riding e-bikes? Did you have a secondary battery or just the one? Looking forward to part 2.
Thanks. Probably between 30 and 40 miles per day. We all were using ebikes although our friends' bikes have a much more powerful motor and a larger battery. But no one needed more than one battery.
Just spent the better part of a month in Canada and my take is...avoid Quebec if you don't completely understand the French language. The rest of Canada is so welcoming. We loved Labrador and newfoundland. New Brunswick and Ontario are great for us non French speaking folks.

Thank you for making this enjoyable video. Merry Dairy is a real neighborhood gem. Waving hello from Westboro Village 🇨🇦
It’s a good thing they aren’t in my neighborhood. 😅
Love your black and white and peach shirt John!

@@BobKeefe Thanks. I’ll give it a try.

I should have continued on with my french after high school but it just wasn't as interesting as volleyball. 😁
Wondering when you take delivery of your new van? George hasn't posted any updates lately.
Enjoy your videos!
Very soon!

I guess I'm just used to what we see in the west where most signs are also posted in Spanish.

Every place we stayed was set up for ebike charging. Worked out great.

George is working all out to get our van finished and we hope to pick it up in a few weeks.

We had the best time! It is so much fun reliving that trip months later. ❤
Have u had to extend your trip bc of the extended delivery date for your new van?
We flew home.
@@FromShetoMe Did u sell your van and deliver it out east?
How long (distance) is each day’s ride?
30 to 40 miles per day.

Sorry you had a bad experience.
