  • For this adventure we are going international - cycling the Niagara peninsula offers great views of Niagara Falls, wonderful wineries, and large ships navigating the Welland Canal locks.
    You are never far from water on this route. You are either riding next to the Niagara River on next to the Welland Canal. Ride through Niagara Falls, Niagara on the Lake, St. Catherine's, Port Colborne, and Port Erie -- all great Canadian towns. The entire route is 86 miles long. This ride took place on July 30, 2022.

    When I was in my early twenties I spent a lot of time down in that region visiting my buddy who went for college. After watching your video I’ve realized I haven’t been down there for over a decade. I may have to plan a weekend to explore by bike. Thanks for sharing. I’ll follow your channel.

      The bike trail along the Niagara River has great views. We didn’t show all of it but you can ride from Niagara Falls to Niagara on the Lake. We hope you get a chance to get out on the trails soon. Thanks for watching and taking a minute to share a comment. It really helps our channel.

    Great bike video with very interesting route. My wife and I are from NYS and we have 750 watt Himiway cruiser ebikes. Did you notice if there were other riders with similar powered ebikes along the Niagara River Recreation Trail from Niagara on the Lake vineyards to the Butterfly Conservatory section of the trail? We would love to ride this trail soon but we are weary of having our bikes confiscated for being overpowered.

      If I understand your bikes, you can either have peddle assist -- or just run the motor? I can't say that we say anyone riding a motorized bike on the trails. I'd suggest you Google the rules in Canada for your type of bike to determine if you can ride them or not. Thanks for watching.

    Great video. We have done all these trails. We really like the trail that goes from Niagara Falls to Fort Erie. Great views and flat. We stop or start at the Willoughby Museum, where are picnic tables and washrooms. The section from Waverly Beach Fort Erie is now all paved. How often would you use the battery, as opposed to using the pedals? Thinking of getting an e bike..any suggestions which type etc.?

      Hi John, Thanks for the extra info on the trail; and thank you for watching. If you are thinking of getting an ebike, key considerations are: how much money do you want to spend, how will you transport them (critical for whether you want a fold up, or a regular bike), where do you plan to ride (road, rail trails, mountain bike trails), how far do you want to go on a battery charge, and how much comfort do you want in your ride? We upgraded our ebikes two years ago because we wanted more distance on a charge and to sit up a bit straighter when we rode. We are currently riding Gazelle Ultimate C8's. We have a video in our channel on this subject you may want to check out: ua-cam.com/video/5dFkqoccbQY/v-deo.html

      Hi. Thanks for watching, and for the kind comments. We did skip the piece of the ride from Niagara Falls to Niagara on the Lake -- there are several things to see and do in that section.

    Great video. Thanks for sharing. We’re thinking to take our e-bikes to canada next year, but also heard the e-bikes have to be limited to 500w. Did they actually check your bikes on the border?

    • @Adventuresonebikes
      @Adventuresonebikes  2 роки тому +1

      They didn’t pay any attention to our bikes at the border. We went over the Lewiston Bridge and came back over the Peace Bridge. Thanks for watching.

    Some friends and I will bike this route in June during a ride from Mankato, Minnesota to Albany, New York. Thanks for giving us a glimpse of the route, really looking forward to riding it, more so now after being able to visualize it! 😊

      WOW! That sounds like quite a trip. Sounds like you'll ride the Erie Canal towpath probably from Buffalo to Albany? There is so much history there to take it, including the canal going over the road. I hope you have a fantastic ride! Thanks for watching.

      @@Adventuresonebikes we have ridden the Erie Canal trail 10 times but never knew about that road going under the canal until recently. I’ll be keeping an eye out for it!

    Nice film! My buddies and I do the entire loop at least on e a year. Sometimes we change direction and it look completely different. There are a lot of hidden gems along the way, including restaurants and refueling stops. If the weather is good, one should go for a dip in Ft Erie - our halfway point 😊

    That run looks like a lot of fun. You said there are not many amenities on the Quebec side? Is it because the towns are not close to the trail?

    • @Adventuresonebikes
      @Adventuresonebikes  2 роки тому

      Hey Don -- sorry, but we weren't anywhere near Quebec -- guess I should have put up a better map! Several parts of the ride didn't have many amenities near the trail, but on the Welland Canal if you could figure out how, you could pop into one of the towns for something to eat. The Friendship Trail was pretty much farmland. Thanks for watching.

    Thank you for another helpful video. It’s good to have some idea of trail conditions, sights and even a bit of history so appreciate your nicely done reviews even if you aren’t always able to complete an entire trail. (Looks like you can add another canal to your list:)

    • @Adventuresonebikes
      @Adventuresonebikes  Рік тому

      Thanks for your kind words. We share your thoughts -- you don't have to ride an entire trail to get an idea of what it is all about. Hopefully we can slow down a bit this year and get more done end-to-end. We've been on the Welland Canal before, but that was before we started our channel. It was good to go back, but we couldn't find the restaurant we liked that was right on the edge of the water. Thanks for watching.
