I've read versions that say that Lilith was replaced by Eve because Lilith was sterile, which also explains why she targets children specifically. @@GiraffinMeCrazy6834 There are a few versions. There's also the possibility that she's a remnant of Babylonian mythology, or at least it's where her name came from
none of these descriptions of lilith are actually "real", they were made up quite recently. lilith is mentioned a single time in the bible, that being in a short list of creatures of the desert. it is likely that she was originally, in ancient jewish myth, a harpy-esque animal-woman creature as there are many similar such creatures with similar names in bordering cultures such as the akkadian lilu. the story of her being "adam's first wife" was invented in the 19th century by Jewish scholars in an attempt to fix a perceived "error" in the old testament in which the first woman is created twice (once alongside Adam and once later from his rib).

As a German, I can say that a) Willie's pronounciation of "Waldeinsamkeit" is awkward, but essentially correct and b) nobody actually uses that word in Germany, except maybe in a poetic context.
thats true for most of these words theyre literally there for some chucklefck on the internet to go "wooooow the language is so pretty" while its just a compound word that can be made with anything in fact, the english translation would just be woods-loneliness. so poetic...
There’s a line from the play Betrayal by Harold Pinter which always makes me laugh because it’s just so wildly pretentious, and I’m pretty sure if Pinter was writing in German he could have just used “waldeinkamseit” in place of “I read Yeats on Tortuga”
Nice Spanish word!! It can mean goblin, but "tener duende" can also mean having charm, charisma, a special talent for flamenco, for singing and dancing and creating art.
Karina accurately explaining Odlaw as a Houstonian ascended me to heaven. I don’t know why I get such a kick out of Karina also being a Houstonian. It fills me with such joy. I love my horrible, construction-riddled, spiderweb-shaped, swamp
Waldo is actually called Walter over here in Germany. And funnily enough, the bustling scenes from the Walter/Wally/Waldo books are quite literally the opposite of what "Waldeinsamkeit" means...
Ironic that just in the moment when he escaped to the skies to experience Waldeinsamkeit for the first time he was finally found and stabbed by his nemesis because he left the cover of the crowd...
I'm actually legitimately surprised that after Willie trying to get everyone to draw full Where's Waldo group shots that the episode didn't end with Julia doing one. Not that I would want to put that on Julia, but it absolutely feels like something she would do.
Something about the render on Julia’s drawing really brought out how happy Duende goblin is to see their lovely partner after a long day of work and it really warms my heart.
I'd love to see you guys draw some ponies based solely on their names. Some of them are kinda crazy, like Princess Mi Amore Cadenza. I just think it'd be fun to see the kinds of designs y'all would give them :3

I love that at the end of every single episode Willie comes he starts reading a long list in a tone that makes it feel like a group of masked thugs broke in and are threatening to execute him if he doesn't tell us about his "tasteful" nudes
The epitome of Drawfee is Jacob saying “what about ‘Man-horse-ton’?” and nobody acknowledges he said anything only to have Julia say “so here’s my opinion on grilled cheese sandwiches…” and everyone is like “yes say more”
suggestion for julia: fun fact: dorf means village in german so ganondorf could be literally translated as ganon village. i think it would be cool if julia drew a village full with all (or at least a few) of the different ganons from the past zelda games
Ganon means Demon. In the first game where Ganondorf exists (ocarina of time), we get backstory about his village (gerudo valley). Literally the demon village
Fun fact, the word Wally in Australia is not only a common mans name from when they started printing this book (it no longer is) but also a slang term for a practical joker. So it fit better than Waldo the literally nobody is called here.
For real, what kind of name is Waldo? Wally makes sense because he’s supposed to blend in and be hard to find so of course he would have a common name that doesn’t stand out. Also in Britain Wally means a silly person. So if you said “stop being a Wally.” It means “stop being stupid.”.
Im a bit late but as a Spanish person i think i have to try to explain the "duende" thing, so in 99% of the cases is the thing that willie said, like a goblin creature, so i was a little confused about that word been here, but in Andalucia (the south of Spain, where i live) there is a thing called "el duende" that would be the other definition applied to music and things like that
Oh damn, thank you. I'm from Argentina and never, ever, ever in my life heard that second definition used in any context or country. I was massively confused as to where did they take that from.
I don’t know, I’m a Spaniard myself and I have heard it a lot, specially related to the world of flamenco. Even Cruzcampo has used it in the past for some ad campaigns related to its “identity” in Andalucía. It’s by no means a common word, though, if you never interacted with that subculture.
My shameful confession is that for some reason, I imagined Bronie Sanders as centaur the whole time they were talking about it until she actually started drawing his body.
I'm a native Spanish speaker (from Argentina) I have never hears Duende used with that meaning, I always knew it as a goblin/elf/folklore little guy... also search Los Peques, it was an Argentinean cgi show that's really close to my heart and part of my childhood
I'm a Spanish literature/culture teacher, and from my understanding I've always seen it used in that way related to flamenco/cante jondo/poetry, especially in Southern Spain. "Tiene duende" basically meaning like "it's got soul". You'll hear it a lot in writing from Lorca, for example! But it's definitely a regional thing 😊
Jacob in the intro to this episode is me in college agreeing to only use words of two syllables or fewer because my friends were annoyed I used long words. Then almost immediately being told the game was over because I was having too much fun with it, and dredging up even more obscure words in order to abide by the rule. Words are fun! Have fun with them.
I don't know what he put in his yogi before this ep, but Jacob is out here dropping jokes that were killing me over and over, and he finally noticed my constant questions about Lilith being cast from Eden, I feel so seen.
There is something incredibly funny about Nathan not being in the episode but still being in the apartment. The mentions of Nathan in the other room and hearing him laugh really adds to the episode😂
can we get a whole hour long video of Karina just explaining random tid bits of mlp lore and everyone else is just confused and asks clarifying questions
My marching band instructor in high school was aggressively Hispanic and taught us the meaning of duende. We were putting on a performance that incorporated flamenco and when we weren't being emotive in our movement "DUENDE!" was the command shouted. That was over twenty years ago. Good memories.
The funny thing about Julia's breaking the spacetime continuum joke is that there's actually a rpg where Waldo/Wally is an eldritch entity that just warps reality around him and you are someone trying to track him down and stop him, which is played using one of the Where's Waldo books, and part of that is you actually have to essentially kill the people who aren't Waldo but are wearing stripes because they are infected by him, becoming his follower, and if you don't, they would spread it further.
I’ve got a drawing challenge suggestion. Take a couple of your favorite characters from media, like Yugi, Luffy and Moonpaw for example, then take your favorite pieces of your favorite characters, like Yugi’s hair, Luffy’s arms and smile, and moonpaw’s legs to combine them all into your new favorite favorite character.
Can we just appreciate Nathan here? The commitment to the job so strong that when he's locked out of the room sobbing on the floor begging to be let in, he still will participate in bits when asked. Real growth and commitment right there

in fact, the english translation would just be woods-loneliness. so poetic...
I use it all the time but I´m a pretenious fuck

There’s a line from the play Betrayal by Harold Pinter which always makes me laugh because it’s just so wildly pretentious, and I’m pretty sure if Pinter was writing in German he could have just used “waldeinkamseit” in place of “I read Yeats on Tortuga”
sometimes I see the thumbnail and immediately start laughing and I know it's gonna be a banger

Nice Spanish word!! It can mean goblin, but "tener duende" can also mean having charm, charisma, a special talent for flamenco, for singing and dancing and creating art.
From what country? I'm a Spanish native speaker and never heard of "tener duende"

Karina accurately explaining Odlaw as a Houstonian ascended me to heaven. I don’t know why I get such a kick out of Karina also being a Houstonian. It fills me with such joy. I love my horrible, construction-riddled, spiderweb-shaped, swamp
Her explaining that Houston is a swamp full of traffic made me go right passed laughter into hyperventilation.
Same, neighbor. Her explaining slime in the ice machine a year ago on a stream elevated me.
Karina kinda knowing the meaning of waldeinsamkeit via a hetalia song is so on brand for her
Willie said a lot of things confidently and i'm glad the only one he was right about was Lilith being a dommy mommy.

Waldo is actually called Walter over here in Germany. And funnily enough, the bustling scenes from the Walter/Wally/Waldo books are quite literally the opposite of what "Waldeinsamkeit" means...
Walter mit Waldeinsamkeit
A lonely future where all those bustling places are now empty and it is just Waldo all alone.
Ironic that just in the moment when he escaped to the skies to experience Waldeinsamkeit for the first time he was finally found and stabbed by his nemesis because he left the cover of the crowd...
Something about Jacob drawling out “Howdy Drawfans” does wonders to lower my blood pressure
I'm actually legitimately surprised that after Willie trying to get everyone to draw full Where's Waldo group shots that the episode didn't end with Julia doing one. Not that I would want to put that on Julia, but it absolutely feels like something she would do.
Just a room full of goblin vampires
Julia doing research during episodes and streams is my favorite ongoing bit
Is it a bit. Or just a trait?
Something about the render on Julia’s drawing really brought out how happy Duende goblin is to see their lovely partner after a long day of work and it really warms my heart.
Nothing can change my mind that 'Evil' Waldo should be Maldo.

It's always fun to hear English natives pronounce German words. Not in a judgemental way (I know its difficult) but its just so adorable. 😊
I found it really funny to hear Julia try to say Holger as a dane
Same with Spanish (when you're a Spanish native speaker of course)
These comments are so wholesome! English-speaking Americans are so *cranky* about pronunciation! I have just the very slightest Southern accent and boy do I catch way too much shit for my pen-pin merger! I've become so defiant about it that I just look them straight in the eye and say, "Yeah, that's my pin-pin merger you're hearing." Why say *pehhhnn* when you can just say pin?
German was always my favorite language to sing in when I was taking voice lessons. It’s so expressive, and so much easier to sing in than English!
SCHMETTERLING!!
The 1% of this video with Nathan in it was a true gift.
Karina's ability to confess a sin and unearth forgotten sins of my own is unparalleled. That einsamkeit mention took me all the way back to high school, jeez.
Right?? I heard her say "I recognize the word einsamkeit" and my dumb ass was like "well surely she knows it from a much less cringe source than I do" and then she kept talking and I felt so SEEN
I got whiplash when she said that lol. Took my ass straight back to middle school.
I love that at the end of every single episode Willie comes he starts reading a long list in a tone that makes it feel like a group of masked thugs broke in and are threatening to execute him if he doesn't tell us about his "tasteful" nudes
The epitome of Drawfee is Jacob saying “what about ‘Man-horse-ton’?” and nobody acknowledges he said anything only to have Julia say “so here’s my opinion on grilled cheese sandwiches…” and everyone is like “yes say more”
I loved Nathan's contribution of yelling through the locked window from outside bc he's not let into the episode
suggestion for julia:
fun fact: dorf means village in german so ganondorf could be literally translated as ganon village. i think it would be cool if julia drew a village full with all (or at least a few) of the different ganons from the past zelda games

I don’t think anyone is called Waldo in America either
For real, what kind of name is Waldo? Wally makes sense because he’s supposed to blend in and be hard to find so of course he would have a common name that doesn’t stand out. Also in Britain Wally means a silly person. So if you said “stop being a Wally.” It means “stop being stupid.”.
It's fitting that they were discussing Pokemon while Julia was drawing Duende like she draws Pokemon: an adult man.
Thanks! I'm also from Argentina and was wondering where that meaning came from since I've never heard of it. Langugage is so interesting!
yea i was kinda confused too
not me living in spain myself and also being confused 😂😂 thank you
As a Spaniard I’ve never heard the second meaning of the word “duende” but Julia’s piece sure is a duende
I was looking for a comment like this.
@@cesargpfis Thank you, I'm Mexican and assumed it that meaning was from Spain or one of the many other Spanish-speaking countries
Same lol I'm from Castilla y Leon and I don't think it exists in my zone

weirdly good timing for Willy to use "duende" as a word so i can finally know what it means when my favorite funny streamers say it.
Nathan's distant laughs are so delightful
I can't believe they duct taped Nathan to the ceiling to keep him from drawing this episode
I love how the outros are insanely long whenever Willie hosts ❤
Absolutely insane to me that Jacob’s word is a legit good description for the works of transcendentalist writer Ralph WALDO Emerson 😭
🤯
The only time I think about Hetalia is when Karina reminds me it exists. It’s truly cursed
Reset the clock it has been 0 days since Karina Farek caused me psychic damage by reminding me of Hetalia
Nathan most certainly made this episode worth it
I was so caught up in the Waldo/Odlaw thing that I completely forgot these weren’t all Waldo themed.
Karina knowing about MLP lore feels like a prerequisite part of her, why would anyone be surprised. Rarity being her fave is also very good
We call Wally "Waldo" in the states to use up all the leftover "-do"s that had stacked up from snipping them off the game Cluedo
oh I absolutely am accepting this as cold hard facts
But that leaves you with a pile of leftover "-ly"s instead! Where are those going?
I don't know what he put in his yogi before this ep, but Jacob is out here dropping jokes that were killing me over and over, and he finally noticed my constant questions about Lilith being cast from Eden, I feel so seen.
There is something incredibly funny about Nathan not being in the episode but still being in the apartment. The mentions of Nathan in the other room and hearing him laugh really adds to the episode😂
I love the Willie episodes breaking the barrier between the recording the host that isn't in the episode
My favorite part of the episode was when Nathan yelled his Bernie impersonation from the other room 😂💜
The insane whiplash of having such poetic words from Arabic and German and then hearing Willy say DUENDE 😂
can we get a whole hour long video of Karina just explaining random tid bits of mlp lore and everyone else is just confused and asks clarifying questions
"Okay so, one of the big villans is an insect horse monster who is also a succubus. Another one of them is just racist."
Thank u for posting these videos that help me sleep for the past few years
Had a dream that Jacob said, "Remember, children only experience fear in public." I woke up in a cold sweat.
Now I'm craving Brownie Sanders: a new baked dessert consisting of one layer chocolate brownie and a base layer of pecan sandy cookie.
God I love when mlp become relevant in a drawfee episode, Karina's drawing is so accurate with the "20 percent cooler" 😂
Love Willie’s channel plugs at the end of drawfee eps, they’re great every time. Got me to subscribe and occasionally watch part of his videos
