Chicago drill is one of the most aggressive beats in US music. Historically it’s tough street music from African American communities of Chicago. You felt the swagger, attitude, anger and frustration inherent in the genre. It’s daring for such a young K-POP group to be inspired by it. It is NOT drill but inspired by it and then infused with their own ENHYPEN style. They did it. Bravo!
This MV is insanely intense 🔥😂. ENHYPEN is not even 2 years old and yet they out do every comeback 🥰. How Amazing is that. This is the reason I Stan them since I-Land. Dark Moon: The Blood Altar is their webtoon. I truly love your reaction and Thank you 😂 💕
Dark Moon is a webtoon featuring the members of Enhypen (as fictional characters in a fantastic environment). The webtoon is referenced in the MV (Sunghoon's eye being red namely). I won't spoil it here. But more importantly I think the song and the MV refer heavily to the nasty rumors surrounding the band members since their debut. Because they debuted during Covid they had little chances to sing in front of an audience and there were always doubters wondering if they could sing while performing their very tough choreos. All that is to be changed because Enhypen is about to embark on a world tour. So I think "pass the mic" is their answer to those saying they can't sing. They are about to show everyone that they actually can. Hence the numerous references to planes (the world tour) in the MV. I'm looking forward to your I-land reactions keep them coming thanks.
oh wait this is why i think the cb show performance of this sounded crisp and raw, i think they used less to none backing tracks and low instrumentals? it was so cool!
Fun fact: the line “I got pushed pushed, 떠밀려 왔어” (it’s the first line of verse 1) is also the first line of Into the I-Land, the main song/theme song kind of thing for I-Land
A lot of the MV visuals relate to their webtoon (not many are into the webtoon so🤷🏻♀️). The guy on fire, the moon, Sunghoon’s eye color change, their being in school clothes and in the classroom. The VesselSoft promo + private plane makes me hopeful for an ENHA world tour, let’s gauuur!

They're continuing the vampire concept & it takes place at a school. The webtoon is on hiatus until August. So is BTS's webtoon. TXT's will be back in September. I can't wait for them to start again. Hmm, I feel like I didn't love this title track as much as their others. I feel like it went the way of other 4th Gen boy groups and was power over substance. But I think this style suited Jay so well. Like he looked really in his element here. Niki too. Overall, they did well--I like the choreo a lot. It maybe just lacked a bit of an x-factor for me. I heard the album is really good though so I can't wait to check that out!
I think they walking on they their own path saying this is what we wanna sound like and not do what others are doing. Like how they sing “walk the line, I hate the line”. Like the photos from the M concept with the men in suit all going in a certain way but the boys going in their own direction. I think they finally know how their sound.
Umm Sammy when a group drops an MV you should first watch MV and then the lyric video cz so many things are spoiled beforehand if you watch lyric video first
I agree. I think kpop is very visually focused. For a first impression the song is meant to be heard along with the visuals to get the full delivery, the full impact.
