I just spent the weekend demonstrating spoon carving at a festival. I still learned something from watching this video since everyone has different styles, techniques, and tools. Thank you!

Have a question for you sir.i have been carving black walnut spoons, and some people said you can't use them for eating or cooking? We have used them for yrs.

I have never heard of any reason why you couldn't use Black Walnut for spoons. If in doubt, google toxicology on specific species 👌

Thanks, i love see your gestures, it's very helpful for me. Do you always work with dry wood ? (i think that it's a dry wood) but perhaps it's a fresh branch (sorry for my english i'm french). An other question where do you live ? it seems so " exotic"around you

Just curious, do you carve things other than spoons in your own time that you don’t post on UA-cam?

I work in Masonry, so my other time is spent using much heavier material. Spoons are a wonderful break from that 🙂

Hey Buddy you make it look a little too easy. I’ve made a lot of spoons but I still can’t match your tool handling. Nice work, please keep posting.

@@andyspoonsI must remember the Latin name... Just switched over to one of your videos for a bit of calm... Andy, am I VERY RUDE if I ask you if you are religious - because I always feel such peace and calm coming at me from your videos... I always watch one of your videos when I feel a little rattled or upset inside.
