Louisville JUST MADE a PROGRAM CHANGING Hire (Jeff Brohm)

- Jeff Brohm was a former Louisville QB who became a big time coach at Purdue. After 6 seasons, Brohm has decided to go back home to Louisville and today I want to talk about Brohm, his story so far and why this is a program changing hire, enjoy!
He's a quality coach, that actually WANTS to be at UofL. He's going to have an excited fan base and hopefully, start putting butts into seats again. Best of luck coach!
Why Satterfield got hired at UC is beyond me, it almost feels like they just hired the closest coach available
Great video man! - Louisville fan
Bro that whistle you use at the beginning of your vids 😩 that shit just has me feeling emotions I can't explain
It's a big deal for Louisville to finally have a quality coach with actual roots (very deep ones) to the city. My one concern had been defense, which like Petrino while at UofL, always seemed to be an afterthought for Brohm-coached teams. It appears Brohm turned that corner at Purdue and started taking that side of the ball seriously. As long as he brings his usual offensive flare and puts a competent defense on the field, UofL will become a contender in the ACC. And Brohm is finally the coach that likely won't get the wandering eye after just a few years of success.
As a Boiler alum and fan I really liked Jeff. He made Purdue really fun to watch. I do agree that he should cracked down on those stupid penalties. I don’t remember any player issues off the field so he recruits decent guys. I can only imagine what he could have done with an Alabama offense. Good for Louisville and I hope he does well. We knew all along he’d be going back to Louisville so that was no surprise.
As a Louisville fan, alum, native and current West Lafayette resident, I am blown away by how gracious the Purdue fanbase has been. Nothing but thanks and well wishes. I don't think I have ever seen that before. I know our fanbase is certainly not capable of that
Ty for him
We feel like we found a coach who really wants to be here and will stay because he is home! He loves Louisville like we all do!!!
Scott Satterfield was Steve Kragthorpe 2.0
Nah Satterfield is a snake. Glad his ass is gone.tks Cincinnati 🤣
Look man satt wasn’t good but that’s too far 💀
Nahh bro I don’t like him either but kragthorpe was awful his best season was 6-6 with a top ten preseason team lmao
Yo great video...we need more coverage of the Ville
As a UofL student, great hire. We wanted sat gone anyway but the wake win saved his job, at least now we don't have to buy him out. Louisville seems to be going all in on alum coaches, most likely to raise ticket sales because we have old fans. Hopefully we can get back to consistent 7-10 win seasons. Also that fsu game was crazy to bad the team had zero clutch genes that game 😭
The Virginia game saved his job they said if we lost to he was gonna get fired
L’s down for life
Jeff is not only from Louisville, both his parents are as well. He is a legacy at UofL as his dad played there in the 1960s. His dad went to the same high school as Howard Schnellenberger so when Howard took over it was a lot easier to recruit Jeff who could have played for Lou Holtz at Notre Dame. His brother Greg had already made the decision earlier which made staying home and playing for the Cards even more appealing. Their sister was also a UofL athlete and of course baby brother Brian who may have been a better QB than either Jeff or their dad Oscar, also played for the Cards. All the Brohm brothers still have homes in Louisville. All this to say that Jeff's Cardinal roots run deep and there could not be a choice out there who would care more about the program or want it to succeed more than he. There is no choice that would get 99 or 100% acceptance of the fan base but like with Kenny Payne and the basketball job there is no choice that would come closer. As a local legend and legacy he'll get more time than an outsider to get the program back on track. If it works out, it's much more likely that he would not leave for another program.
sick of legacy. lol our football team has never been good. picking from mediocrity because it makes you comfortable is the epitome of what this state s about apparently.
@@statpadford you butt hurt, Matty Bangs (guys)?
@@statpadford the fuck are you talking about? Did you forget about 06 when we were ranked #3 in the country? Have you already forgotten Lamar Jackson? We are far from a national power but, to say we have never been good is just a plain old lie.
And to be sick of legacy, I'm not sure why you would be in this case. Unlike Kenny Payne, Jeff Brohm is a proven winner who will now be coaching in a much weaker conference
@@saviorself1164 stfu jeff brohm ain’t won shit. WE HAVENT BEEN GOOD BRO. Stop squinting tryna make it seem like something it ain’t. no cfb championship or playoff appearances. lamar had us relevant but not good. i know what i’m talking about.

Finally a Louisville video
Day 1 of asking scott fisher to make a video of the year when ucf got robbed in the college football playoff and they were undefeated.

Cal
Jaquinden Jackson. He's gonna light it up next year for the Utes.

Let's omit his 5+ years as a NFL back up
As a Big Ten fan, I'm glad he is gone. He is a really good coach, I look foward to Purdue being a basketball school and a easy win again.
Who’s your team? You’re a big ten fan but you look forward to a big ten team being an easy win? Make it make sense
@Mister Ceo oh, I graduated from UMD and grew up around Rutgers lmao. We enjoy easy wins as well as watching Penn State fans trying to make a rivalry happen with Ohio State or Michigan. I actually root for most of the Big Ten against outside competition even Ohio State, I hope one of them can knock off Georgia
@@Delmarvafishing born in Michigan and go blue til I die! Georgia about to beat the living u know what outta OSU lol
@Mister Ceo probably, we will see. I'm waiting to see who come out with their hair on fire, im just glad that Nick Saban is going to be watching the CFP on TV
Coming back to these comments and UC is 2-6 and the cards are 7-1… 😂 GO MOTHER FUCKIN CARDS
What do you think of Louisville & the hire?
I think it’s a good hire I don’t know much about Louisville but I think they can be back to competing in the ACC
Home run hire!
His experience, passion , and offensive schemes bring excitement back to the program!
Purely looking at statistics it’s a strange hire. But fans like the hire so it should increase moral and support for a fan base that’s exhausted.
I didn’t believe he would leave. I’m kinda relieved, I was tired of hearing about this possibility every year. I’d like his brother to be hired as HC,
I'm from Louisville I love the hire more then anything it's nice to have a good coach that wants to be here it's been ruff since Charlie strong left we won the sugar bowl and that year we went from BigEast to the ACC was a good year but Teddy Bridgewater and Devante Parker went to the NFL but felt good having a good coach I thought after saying he's going nowhere and talking about Louisville giving him a chance to be a coach and Tom Jurich that gave him that coaching job said he will do whatever to keep him and match any offers he gets then the next few days I see a post with him and his family throwing up the Texas longhorns and its been a Rollercoaster every since 2013 and don't get me started on Bobby petrino we had good year's with lamar jackson cause it didn't matter who coached him he was a beast and still is so feels good to not be worrying about a coach every year I like Jeff Brohm it says alot about him when you knew he wanted to come home but didn't want to leave Perdue in a bad spot seems like a loyal and good man never liked Scott Satterfield after the first year he goes to South Carolina for a interview knowing all that Louisville been threw and took him from small school making less then a million a year to making millions a year and football players saying he made them send out tweets about how good he's doing and treating them dude only care about his self and money Cincinnati can have him GO CARDS!!!
Louisville seemed giddy about Satterfield leaving. He has a .510 winning percentage as a Power 5 coach. Louisville seems to be losing its mind with happiness over Brohm taking the job. He has a .514 winning percentage as a Power 5 coach. Aside from Brohm being an alum, what's the big deal? Maybe the .004 difference speaks to what will make Louisville fans happy in the future. Looks like a pretty even trade. Good luck! Go Bearcats!
You are laser focused on the "as a power 5 coach" aspect and not really looking at the differences in the conferences. Satterfield WAS a power 5 coach but Clemson is really the only ACC team that could hang in the B1G. Satterfield never beat them. He may (barely) have a better winning percentage but those stats are helped by the fact that the quality of opponents is VASTLY inferior to what Jeff Brohm had to face at Purdue.
Hey, if you’re okay with, we’re okay with it! Go CARDS!!!!
Tks Cincinnati 🤣🤣🤣
Opie Satterfield just isn't cut out to be a successful Power 5 head coach. He should write a book and title it 'Diary of a Whimpy Coach'. Just doesn't have any stones. His personality AND coaching is meh and extremely vanilla. oh and Cincinnati chili SUCKS...just as overrated as Gomer Satterfield. Enjoy!....We sure as hell will. 😁 GO CARDS
@@blankman4457 This poor soul just has no clue...am I right? Bless his heart and GO CARDS !!! 🤠
Will Coach Brohm do like Petrino & Strong which was recruit heavy in Florida?
Louisville should hope so. That's where the talent is. It won them a Sugar Bowl.
@@jasonmilly3320 and a Orange Bowl in 06'
Idk what to say about this hire. I guess this is a good hire he did made Purdue is relevant and somewhat respectable.
it’s a lateral hire. i hate this school man
Tired all Louisville news we need NBA TEAM! ASAP NEW FOCUS!
As a Louisville fan I don’t know how I feel about this move. The guy was 36-34 in the big10 west which sucks. I get Purdue was trash before Brohm got there but he brought them to a level where Louisville expects to be annually, therefore, I don’t see how this hire advances our program. His recruiting classes were in the mid 30s at Purdue. Just not sure if this was a good move when you have guys like Paul Chryst and great coordinators out there. A lot of Louisville fans and boosters are homers which paints anyone with Louisville connections as legitimate.
Yep. He was not always good at in game management for Purdue. There was a percentage of fans that are happy he is gone.
Purdue was 9-39 in the four years before brohm.
I think his recruiting classes will be much higher with a program that has more money to put into nil. And honestly, is easier to get into, academically.
Just crazy to me the delusion that Louisville is a better program than Purdue. You are highlighting the worst stretch in Purdue history before Brohm got there. Purdue football expectations were to win the conference in the 2000s. You say Louisville expects to be 8-9 wins annually but... playing in a much inferior conference leads to an easy path to 8 wins. For Brohm this is a step down for sure as the B1G is miles ahead of the ACC. But for Louisville, you get a coach that should sleep walk to 8 wins a year.
@@mpzurlino but Purdue is not miles ahead of the acc. Purdue hasn't been good at football in about 2 decades. Thats a looong time. You got two good teams in the big ten. Ohio state and Michigan. And Michigan wasnt great all that long ago. I find it funny that you use recency bias to pick the big ten as head and shoulders above the acc. And the quip before that, ignore it. (I.e. Purdue was good in the early 00's). I chuckled.
@@TruckerCardsfan Purdue was good all the way up until 2008. So not two decades. More like one decade stretch. Only Louisville fans believe this is a step up for him. Historically, Purdue is a much better football school. For 2022, Purdue has 15 players in the NFL. Louisville has 10. Historically, Purdue has had players in the NFL with much more successful careers.
Brohm led Purdue to its first-ever Big Ten Championship Game appearance ... and their first-ever Big Ten Championship loss.
This feels like a lateral move.
Lateral move? Satterfield wasn't fired, he left. So, we went from nothing to Jeff Brohm. Seems like a step up to me.
Right.... lateral from a guy who took Purdue a HISTORICALLY non competitive team in the B10 and took them to their first B10 championship game lol.
@@taylorj3700 Program wise it was likely a step down for Brohm. Going from B1G to ACC. Louisville is not on the same level as Purdue in the grand scheme of all sports and national attention. And once there are just two super conferences, players will only want to play in the SEC or B1G. Not the ACC that is quickly dying off.
it is. we’re obsessed with picking legacy people from our school when we have been mediocre historically. this love affair we have with people with louisville ties is annoying. brohm is going to suck just like satterfield and kenny payne. atp someone needs to investigate and figure out who in the louisville board is working for kentucky
@@taylorj3700 Right!! 🤣🤣
How many coaches have returned to their amamater and lead them to a championship?
Clearly Frost didn't do that
@@huskerfanmannow that’s quality! 😂🤣👏
I will always say this. Tom Jurich would Not have hired Satterfield. Once Louisville fired him and Pitino, Louisville was done!! And what makes things worse is, the Ncaa said Tom and Rick didn't do anything wrong!!! The school fired them for nothing.
Best possible hire and situation here for the coach. People outside of Louisville dont understand how well loved Jeff Brohm is in that town. Its basically a coach for life situation (thats 5-6 years in college football I guess) and there isnt many coming for his bump unless they put deon, or Brian Brohm in the spot. Perdue was about to get shook up in the new b1g divisions, and it seemed like he hit his ceiling. He is great recruiting the south and midwest, and gets you a weirdo gadget playbook and some cool passing spread stuff, though his offense is going to need a lot of work. If his spread couldnt work in the big with mid conference talent and push past the one on ones on the outside, I dont know how much success you might expect from him vs. the Clemsons, FSUs, VTs, and other ACC defenses that play well against his scheme. Bobby bolted, Charlie bolted, Vance was charlie's guy, and scott needed help recruiting. They got their alumni to keep the boosters happy, and the brohm family is always charming in the sports community, so its all on the up and up for him as long as he can make changes to keep succeeding. Im not a big fan of his stubborness and clock management. I feel like he gets qbs and receivers hurt with bad playcalling after he baits defenses into a blitz. Watch the last 3 plays of the B1G championship. Two nothing plays, then a sprint out like hes got patrick mahomes in madden with 90 seconds left, after not scoring a touchdown for two hours previous, going no huddle, like hes going to march down the field and score 3 touchdowns, recover 2 onsides, and convert a 2 pointer TO TIE THE GAME. They couldnt score 2 touchdowns all night and Jeff wanted to push that team down the field, not even 2nd team. His QB ends up getting blasted out of the pocket after he called two time outs, down 3+ scores with a minute left. He called the sprint out with no time outs and got a sack. Having a running qb will be good for him, and I think we could see a cool evolution for him the same way harbaugh went from this big set pro style offense, to using his offense with a more mobile qb. Brohm is going to have some atheletes that can make plays, and someone that can tuck the ball, and make a defense give up a first down on a keeper if they want to go man and shut down deep routes. UL is a way better team in a competitive conference. Great news for everyone. I hope perdue can get a nice step up hire and keep the big a strong conference, but there are tough roads to california and new jersey ahead for all the b1g schools.
Brohm only took this job because it is his alma mater and hometown. But it is clearly a step down going from the B1G to the ACC. Also, not sure why Purdue is considered the dumpster of the conference. Historically, they are much better than Maryland, Indiana, Rutgers, Illinois, Minnesota, and Northwestern. But yes... let's pretend they are the worst of the conference.
Maybe he can coach the basketball team
I really don't understand this
The penalties always boiled my skin dude. So aggravating to get unsportsmanlikes and kick from the 10 yard line. One thing I hated about having him as a coach. He was never disciplined. He bought purdue back though so I’m happy about that.
I think Brian Harsin or Jim Mora would be a good fit at Purdue.
Nah I’m good
I like how you made a video covering the “harsh truth” of how you saw Jeff Brohm’s Purdue Team was essentially going to underperform and then you call him a “program changing coach.” Do you truly believe that he’s that kind of a coach, or do you just make videos that contradict your previous opinions to get clicks?

Dude how many teams are you a fan of like Jesus

Jeff Brohm pisses excellence!!
I am glad Satterfailed is gone. Bye bye Goober.
Going from the Big 12 to the ACC seems like a step down to me. If it wasn’t for Clemson there would be no decent teams in that conference.
I agree with this statement except Purdue is in the B1G Ten, not Big 12. Which to me is even worse of a step down.
@@mpzurlinoGAT DAMN IT!😖 How could I have screwed that one up. Nice catch my man.
WE NEED TO STOP HIRING PEOPLE BECAUSE THEY HAVE TIES TO KENTUCKY/LOUISVILLLE. it’s not like we have a history of success so picking from mediocrity is dumb. brohm is going to run us into the ground just like satterfield and kenny payne. we could have had deion smh.
Deion said he wasn’t going to a power 5 team he wants to build up the fcs schools also Jeff is the right coach cause he’s already been a coach Kenny hasn’t been a coach for more than on season chill out also Jeff knows how to beat Kentucky Ik u tried of losing to Kentucky
@@trxulyking3487 if deion went to colorado, he would have came to louisville. point blank. and kentucky isn’t hard to beat. a competent coach could out recruit and beat kentucky regularly at louisville. is jeff going to get us in the playoff? the answer is NO. and if the answer is NO then he’s the wrong coach. i’d rather they try to get urban meyer or something. and kenny payne is terrible. we’ve never sucked so bad. he gotta be a double agent working for kentucky. he needs to go asap.
