Good video, thanks for sharing. I'm American living in Sweden for 20 years. Me and my wife are planning on moving to Spain and considering Valencia one day. My next vacation will be Valencia for sure.

I'm British and I used to live in Benimaclet during the 1980's. It's largely a modern district but it's on the edge of the city and it's nice to walk into the countryside towards Alboraya. But Benimaclet also is the district with most speakers of Valencian in the city because most residents of the city speak Castellano and you only really hear Valencian in the rural areas in La Huerta.

It's not the same being a true-blue Valencian as being just an immigrant in València. The latter tend to be monolingual in Spanish and are not knowledgeable about local culture or history. @@carolinafernandezgomez8149

    Hello Antoanetta,
I've been following you for a long time and I'm always pleasantly surprised by the conviction you put into your videos.
I'm lucky enough to come regularly to Valenciennes, our beloved city. It's love at first sight, for its architecture, its gastronomy and its atmosphere. So much so that 6 years ago I bought a flat for our retirement.
Our closest friends are from this magnificent town.
    Keep that mentality!
    Kind regards,
    Amar,

I LOVE this video. I'm going to be moving to Valencia for a year in eight months. So your personal insights and perspective has been very helpful. It is a beautiful city that I've enjoyed from visiting. You have only increased my desire to be there. Solo has aumentado mi expectativa de estar allí. ¡Un beso!

Hola! This is great information! Question for you... how difficult is it to get around the city? (I will be there for Spanish classes in July)... gracias! 😊

    • @ANTOANETTA
      @ANTOANETTA  3 роки тому +3

Hola 😊 the city is VERY walkable. You can get almost anywhere within 30min. The metro is good it is not extremely connected like in New York or London but it is good enough. You can use ValenBici these are the city bikes you can ride and leave at stations through Valencia. You will love it!

Hi Antoanetta, first I'd like to say that you and a few others have convinced my wife and I to move to Valencia from Florida (I've mentioned some of our reasons in a previous video of yours.) Question about the "modern section" you mentioned that you were in the Quatre Carreres areas but the section you circled with your finger appears to be more of the Camins Al Grau area (according to Idealistas map.) Could you clarify that for us?
    Thank you for you videos!

What about l'olivereta, is that neighborhood so unattractive that there is no one video about it? It lays next to center, next to el rio, and still it is novhere to find information about it.

We don't want any more expats in València, locals are being expelled from their own city. Go gentrify somewhere in your own country, please.
