I wish Nintendo would do a closing down sale where everything is at least 50% off
Bruh, *consumer friendly*
Nintendo was found guilty of price fixing in the late 80s, they also lobbied to make rentals illegal and won in japan, lost in the US. They also lobbied to make their games unavailable in libraries. They destroyed several emulation sites.
Nintendo has told people to buy used or go to garage sales for older games they refuse to sell. You know, where the dev still gets no money but $300+ is reasonable for a loose cart?
They don't care. They want you buying what's new for $60 because it makes their latest games look better. There's a reason they stopped selling the NES/SNES classic so fast- NSO Online.
They are absurdly protective of stuff they haven't sold for years. I couldn't find the article, but I recall reading that they sued someone for sharing their save data via a cheat device.
@@Snotnarok
Yup
@@getgle I'd rather them sell their games so we can support & get them instead of going the emu route.
I only go emu when it's been 5+ years and the company has done nothing with the game.
EA with Road Rash, SEGA with Ranger X or heck Sonic 3 & Knuckles sure ain't being sold on anything except PC these days.
Lots of games you haven't been able to buy for the better part of a decade.
So when that comes up? Sure.
They will probably do a huge discount sale around the last day of the eShop next year.
I wish we could get a huge sale everytime this happens. Just to let the consumers get as many games as they can lol
I don’t understand why they don’t. They quite literally have nothing to lose
Yeah same
Yeah, same here! They probably don’t do it because they know people will buy the game sale or not.
Pilotwings Resort never dropped in price on the eShop below $40 USD. Not gonna happen
I agree. I noticed a few publishers put their games on sale, but it’d be nice if Nintendo did it too. I regret not buying a bunch of games during the last holiday sale.
Another thing about vc Pokémon Crystal is that it’s the only way to get the celebi event in gen 2. The celebi event is the only way you can actually battle celebi as well as the only way you can shiny hunt it.
You can get them in Pokémon Go now, thankfully!
@@TurnaboutAdam That’s true (and there’s also been events where you get given shiny celebi) and it works if you just want a shiny celebi, but if you want to hunt it yourself (or miss the events) the only real option outside of Japan was Crystal vc.
I picked up Crystal as well even though I still have my copy of Soul Silver. I actually caught a shiny Pidgey, and I’m not some who shiny hunts
It's not made available at all on the original Pokemon crystal at all in the US. Althogh I did trigger something from Kurt, in Pokemon Gold and Silver, saying something along the lines pf maybe making it possible to happen without the event flag being triggered inside the game. Nintendo made sure that Spiritomb could still be accessed with certain items in the parry in the original pokemon diamond and pearl games, so perhaps it is possible to trigger the celebi event the same way. There is a video showing someone injecting their save file into the virtual console version of the game being finally able to capture Celebi in the game.
It might have been snuck in while the game was still in development like how Mihiyo apparently made it possible to drain the lake water before Dragonspine was even made available to be explored in the game.
Steve: “Did you get FE Fates Special Edition?”
Jon: “Yes.”
Steve: “What did it cost?”
Jon: “One Derrick.”
Mine cost $36.
Today over 300€ and that makes me very angry 😠
The dual screens wasn't a gimmick. It was revolutionary and Nintendo just killed it off instead of building upon it. If they released a 720p dual screen handheld I'd buy it in a heart beat
Reminds me of the the nx rumour that had a second fold out screen.
@@PeliicanA The dual screens was just awesome. You didn't have to pause your game to access your menu, and on Zelda/Chrono trigger you had a map in the bottom screen so you could see where you were going. Just doesn't make sense why they would just kill it off the way they did. There was a reason the DS family was their best selling handhelds.
There were handhelds that introduced the DS setup before Ninshito.
@@GenMaster what's a good example
@@The_MEMEphis Those old handhelds, "Deep Diver" is an example that comes to mind. Triple-screen setup even!
Loved Dragon Quest Wars. Played that game a ton till the online died.
Kid Icarus 3D also improved the controls which makes the game much better to control. Definitive version by far.
Sakurai already commented on the idea of another Kid Icarus game being made on the Nintendo Switch. I forgot where exactly I initially found the article at, but it is real and authentically honest.
Would you say Dragon Quest Wars is only worth it with online support? Still on the fence to get this one.
@@joshernsteen2066 I'm pretty sure he said something along the lines of "If a sequel to Uprising happens, I don't plan to be a part of it"
@@VogueDistortion I don’t even remember if it had offline play in any meaningful capacity. So no. Strictly online only
@@TheLonelyGoomba That's a bummer...
Nothing says "I love you" more than installing Bomberman Blitz on your partner's 3DS.
Truer words have never been spoken before
I got it yesterday. It was nice to see Hubson logo again.
This is my first time watching a Good Vibes Gaming video and I MISSED Cartwright's voice. :)
This is why its good in certain cases to pirate stuff. All of this stuff is available online and even stuff that never released in certain regions.
Agreed.
*almost all cases
Something else that you didn't mention was the 3DS Theme Shop! While I believe that the few free themes are going to stay available, the dozens of alternative home screens you could purchase will be disappearing soon. It's definitely worth popping on there soon to see if there's anything you'd like.
**laughs in Anemone**
Thanks to preservationists and modders, as soon as the shop goes down all of this becomes fair play to get from archives.
Where are these archives? Thanks man.
@@pizzahighfive2612 hshop
@@BruhMoment-dt2fh Just to add to this though- I believe Nintendo sends you a code to unlock the Celebi event when you buy the game on virtual console, so that should be bought before it disappears because hshop doesn't have a version with Celebi in it.
Willing to be proven wrong there, however.
@@EvenFlow391 i don’t know much about this but feels like pretty much everything could be unlocked via homebrew these days lmao
@@EvenFlow391 even if that is the case it means I have to risk an account with a modded switch for it to be of any meaning to me. At least I have it already for the shiny hunt.
Something interesting to note about the Pokemon content that's going away with the 3DS eShop is, that as of right now, the only way you can get Ash-Greninja is through the original Sun and Moon demo. As far as I'm aware they never released a Battle Bond Greninja since, so the only way to obtain this form of one of the most popular Pokemon of all time is going away next year lol
theres about a billion clones and more people able to clone, you will always get one of those if you really care about it.
@@clydefrosch yeah and that's also literally illegal, no thank you.
@@ShinyKyu show me the law against cloning pokemon
Also Therian forms in BW2
Get Pokémon dream radar too (nvm he mentioned it)
Did you know? BoxBoy has an overarching story with each of the 3 3ds games, while the switch one is either a prequel in single player, or an alternate timeline in multiplayer. Crazy. HAL does love their unexpected stories in there unsuspecting franchises
Jon gets it, honestly.
I'd honestly be okay if they kept the 3DS eShop up but we had to lose the WiiU eshop.
I hope they do the runback for the 3DS like Sony did as unlikely as it may be..
That's messed up, they should keep both.
I know that I found the page that made mentioning why they had to keep up both of the Eshops up a decade, and the page confirming that Nintendo got sued by a former employee. It might the same webpage, I do not really remember anymore. I believe that they said something related not keeping up the both of the Eshops open for the sake of going to focus more on the future unless they somehownchsnge their minds later on. I know they fully explained themselves on the reasons why they are doing what they are doing as well. They also clearly said that they might keep the Eshops open more with plans to shut it down a few years later maybe only just a few more years if they see a good enough convincing reason(?) It is annoying how Nintendo operates their business in a way that post the information for the public to find a while before it comes actually relevant to what is going in with the company. I am sure that they their own reasons besides for legal matters, keeping the company safe from further lawsuits, and with them obviously eventually forgetting to do it in the long run.
Nintendo did confirm that both of the Eshops are on the same server. Also both the European Winter Drakrai and the American Dark Explorer Drakrai, for Pokemon Black and White, are also on the same server as well. I only found the direct proof stating the evidence, nothing about Nintendo talking about it. I also tried to recieve itnvia wireless with the official event cartridge that I won through an auction on Ebay, and the game would not let me recieve it since I obtained the authentic Dark Explorer Drakrai obtained via wifi on that copy. The way that you obtain it matters. Technically you could load on the wondercard to your game save if you have the right equipment, and training to use it as well. Rhe website should still be around that has some event pokemon tied to the game save to pick up, which is apparently owned and operated by a Gamestop employee. Nintendo is very strict about which countries get which products. There was someone from another country only coming to America to pick up the authentic English Drakrai figure TCG set, which included the official English version of the Drakrai figure.
UA-cam became a little flooded with videos of "These are the 3DS games you should buy now", which is fair enough, it's a hot topic. But this is easily the best. Mentions so so much that other videos didn't touch on, a bunch I never knew even existed, and has a white guy rap. Well done Jon, you really outdid yourself with this production
Yeah, there's a lot of people just making dumb lists and just trying to get attention but John actually cares and made a great list and talked about it in a good way.
Exactly right.
Fr that white guy rap part was golden
As a Zigzagoon fan I appreciate Zigzagoon being used as the example of something precious enough to transfer 5 generations forward through the use of at least 3 different consoles.
actually just 2
play through it on a ds phat or lite, dump the save file to an r4, put the microsd in your 3ds, move the zigzagoon to gen 5 through pkmn-chest, use poke transporter to get it into bank, and then transfer it to home
The 3DS XL will FOREVER be the *greatest handheld console I ever owned.* Not only that, but it is also the console with the *highest ever number of games I have purchased for* (exceeding *well over 30 games).* Thankfully, most of those games I have *purchased physically* so I don't have to worry about "re-downloading" them in the future, but it is still sad to see the 3DS eShop being discontinued in less than 15 years from the hardware's original release. :(
*Looks at my list of PS3 games*: “people can top at 30?”
i have 170 games on the switch....
This guy's voice is oddly calming in this chaotic noise of losing this massive chunk of Nintendo content
Fell asleep during... Not gonna lie.
We're losing literally nothing don't people know cfw is a thing ????.
He's also really good looking no homo
@@carolusrex9138 some people don't want to have to resort to piracy, plus nintendo has a history of trying to ban 3ds's if they detect cfw. They probably won't do it anymore since the 3ds is dead but still. Really it's the principle of the matter. Nintendo despises emulation and piracy yet removes the only legal way to get many of these classic games without bringing them to modern consoles.
@@turboshell since I saw that a physical copy of monster rancher for example costs around 180€ and no download available i honestly don't give a hecc about pirating Nintendo anymore and as you said they remove any legal way of playing these games besides that the cfw community got that good and fast the last time Nintendo made the jailbroken Ds brick there was an update to fix that not even 24 hours later
I just got my 32GB SD Card for my 3DS delivered and installed today (200,000+ blocks feels unreal) so I'm definitely going to be getting a lot of games from this video. Thanks a lot Jon!

While Dual Destinites and Spirit of Justice were mentioned here, there’s another interesting Ace Attorney game on the eShop: a remaster of Apollo Justice! This seems to have flown under most people’s radars, which is unsurprising considering the Switch had been around for almost a year by the time it released. It’s only 20 US dollars, and it looks gorgeous compared to the original DS version!
I actually had to do that transfer process from Gen III to Home the other day, except I went from Colosseum to Home, so there was an extra tedious step.
Colloseum, haven't heard that word in a long time. That game has th best soundtrack.
Thank-you so much for making these eshop videos, Jon. It's so overwhelming trying to narrow down what to pick up before it's all gone and these help a lot. There's a lot of significant stuff here that I either forgot about or that wasn't even on my radar!
Oh my goodness he did it. 100+ games. Well done, Jon!
3DS is Nintendo’s last greatest handheld ever.

technically, the Switch is a home console WITH the ability to also play games on the go, NOT the other way around
@@martinde-serres8724 it’s the other way around. You don’t NEED to plug it into the tv, but it has a screen.
Jon- as a one year old 3ds owner, i came to the 3ds scene quite late. but thanks to your video, it has piqued my interest and became more aware of what i wanted to play. massive thanks from the philippines!
Great video, probably the most comprehensive and varied list I’ve seen so far. The GBC Legend of Zelda Oracle games are also significant Virtual Console releases. The 3DS is the easiest and cheapest way to get both games.
After getting back into the 3DS last year, I’ve bought a couple of games and was looking at more before this announcement, so it’s had me really thinking about the last little bit of money I want to spend on the eshop, between exclusive games and Virtual Console
3Ds is a Jewel. Honestly it's the best hand-held platform we have ever had, and probably we will have, as hybrid switch console did work fantastic, so i guess Nintendo will stick to hybrid for the next generations.
There's switch lite...
I'm glad I stuck around to the end to hear such a quality rap 32:37
At this point I’m just wondering how much Derrick is going for
BEST part of the video.
Oh freaking hell, you LITERALLY saved the best for last. That bit was hilarious. I enjoyed it waaaay too much.
10/10. Would listen again... and I think I will.
I want an extended cut
I know you briefly mentioned them, but Mega Man V on Gameboy really deserves extra mention. Instead of bosses from older games, you get a fully original set of bosses that can’t be found anywhere else known as the Stardroids. Also, this game runs you 500 dollars for a physical copy, so get it NOW if you ever want to experience the best portable Mega Man game out there.
I never realised how many 3DS eShop games there where as I wasn't a huge 3DS user; purchased BoxBoy recently and downloaded demos for Pocket Crad Jockey and Harmo Knight to see what they're like. Interested in the 3DS Phoenix Wright and Fluidity, may get around to buying but I'll have to wait and see, there's so much stuff coming to Switch this year/interesting Wii U and 3DS eShop stuff to get before they're gone
I'm so glad this popped up in my recommended, this is exactly the in-depth video I've been looking for! I watched this with my 3ds in hand ready to type in any games that caught my interest, and now my wishlist is nice and full again. Looks like I'm gonna need some more eShop cards.
I'm also glad this included details about each game, I almost ended up buying Warioware Snapped on my original 3DS that has a broken camera.
One more game I want to recommend is Inazuma Eleven. Its a Soccer RPG series made by Level 5(yes the Professor Layton and Yokai Watch guys) that was popular in Japan. The PAL regions got the 3rd, 4th, and 5th games in the series on 3DS(1 and 2 were on DS). The US only got the 1st Game. But it has some amazing gameplay, tons of replayability, and its a shame they won't be available outside physical releases in the PAL regions
Level 5 also did fantasy life and my god
Underappreciated gem
I've been curious about that actually, how does it play? Is it like a sports-rpg thing?
@@svenbtb Yes it's a Sports-RPG mix, with some "Monster" Collection elements. Each Battle you control your team with the Stylus and you play Soccer, but each character has special moves like Pyro-Kinesis, Creating Natural Disasters, Summoning God and Satan, etc. It's really fun!
Gotta Protectors and Sakura Samurai are two more 3DS eShop exclusives that didn't make the cut for this video but are absolutely worth a look at before the service shuts down. Legendary VGM composer Yuzo Koshiro's studio made Gotta Protectors and he even composed the music for it!
Gotta Protectors intrigues me. Gotta do more research on it.
Edit: Oh wow I just saw this trailer for it:
ua-cam.com/video/b6Apnsrwotc/v-deo.html
I think I'm sold! There's so much here for game I've heard relatively nothing about!
Thanks for pointing out Dragon Quest Wars. I would have missed that one! I just need SMTIV, Pocket Card Jockey, Dillon Last Ranger and some of the 3D Classics and I should be good. Everything else I like is either physical or elsewhere. I’m also going to need a new battery. Mines got a case of the swells😕. As usual you’ve done a sterling job of letting us know what’s worth it. Thanks Jon.
OKay, I'm subbing to you purely because you are the FIRST PERSON so far (I've been looking at *a lot* of 3DS eshop games videos to influence my own recommendations list to friends) to mention Weapon Shop de Omasse and Hotel Dusk and Another Code. Kudos to you and your good taste, and now I've learned about Chase - Cold Case Investigations. Thank you.
[edit] I also just noticed the Panel de Pon/Tetris Attack music in the background. My guy. **chef kiss**
The whole reason I got a 3DS was to play all the Zelda games. I have very fond memories of hunting down an Ambassador 3DS that wasn't linked to a NNID so I could transfer The Minish Cap over.
I got lucky with Four Swords Anniversary Edition. My manager gave me her old 3DS because she didn't play it anymore, and there the game was in all it's glory! Since I ordered a DSI the night before I immediately went to go cancel the order.
Good times.
Jon... thank you for this. I had my eye on many of these games, but had NEVER heard of fluidity and that seems like one I will have to pick up.
Pyoro is thankfully available physically on the 3DS through Warioware Gold. But... you have to unlock it, so.. 20 hrs or so.
Pocket Card Jockey is a really fun game and i highly recommend checking it out before the eShop closes since i highly doubt it will or can get a Re-Release
So much Jon today. Just finished the Spawn Wave video where you all discussed the latest direct and then I find this in my subscription box!
I'm glad I found this channel! I've been looking for a new video game review place and this one makes me very happy, great video too! good vibes all around, just like the name says.
Europeans should definitely be aware that Shin Megami Tensei IV is digital only here. One of the best JRPG's on the 3DS, so if you're interested get it now. Americans don't need to panic though since it has a physical release there.
Edit: Okay this is basically what Jon said in the video, I just made this comment before getting to that part of the video. Still though, play SMT IV if you haven't already!
I was thinking of getting it, since there are no other ways. I also got Soul Hackers dirt cheap and I like it.
I'll add it to the list alongside the persona q games.
@@Lightspeeds That and the other Shin Megami Tensei games tends to get price drop.
Definitely think I'm gonna browse the E-Shop for some of these. Been loving these vids
Thank you for this video 🙂
Before I watched this, I had no idea how engaging, rich, diverse and fun to explore the 3DS eshop was.
I think I previously thought it was mostly SNES and GB games - which are great in and of themselves - but this video showed me it's so, so much more than that.
I wouldn't have known about DSi-ware, 3DS eshop exclusives and a range of interesting, unique or fabulously niché titles that offer a unique gaming experience.
I also wouldn't have found out about DLC I would need for games I just recently purchased such as the 3DS Fire Emblem games.
Lucky that I discovered this gaming treasure trove just in time...
I had just liked the video right as I thought it was wrapping up, but the rap at the end was incredible Jon. Your stuff is amazing and I'm stoked you're back with the old crew :)
This is legit one of the very best videos I’ve ever seen on UA-cam. Killer walk down memory lane and I found some new game to download. Thank You!!
Which game did you discover?
Does this mean we’re going to lose our chance to get any more dlc for 3ds games?
This is huge!! Thanks so much for putting the time and hard work into this!
Thank you for highlighting these Jon! I’m currently on a spending spree on the eshop, picking up attack of the Friday monsters, virtual console titles I’ve missed out on and some of the Atlus titles on sale like persona Q Labyrinth.

Rusty's Real Deal Baseball
Hey Jon, I thought you'd never ask.
When Rustys Real Deal Baseball came out, it was the start of my final season of travel baseball and final year before high school (2013.) I remember getting this game because they emphasized the feel and stuff, and there were some cool mini games with catching grounders and feeling it in the glove and hitting home runs feeling the ting and rattle of the bat and stuff. The coolest part was trying to haggle lower prices for the mini game and unraveling pieces of a story learning about rustys past and the other side characters weird quirks. im guessing once the eshops down though all that haggling will not work as i think it sent you to a quick confirmation on the eshop before buying. You'd get a coupon from a 3D dog and use it on the real eshop. Good stuff. - Boompa World
I highly recommend Sakura Samurai. It’s a 1st party digital exclusive Nintendo game on the 3DS eShop and it’s fantastic!! It’s soundtrack is also amazing
Thanks dude! Great video! So many great game to have a look at before they are gone.
I definitely looked up on that fire emblem Fates collector's edition I remember when it was first and announced I went straight to Amazon pre-ordered that it was sold out under an hour but I didn't know it would go for that much now.
One game franchise I highly recommend people buy because the physical copies are hella expensive are the Shin Megami Tensei games and the Persona Q games.
great list. wish you could put the whole list in the description though
I only found out about Pocket Card Jockey the other day. And I've been ADDICTED. It's so much fun. I wish there were more guides and playthroughs on UA-cam, though. I am kind of confused about the Gidyap Button and when is a good or bad time to suck all the points out of it with rubbing.
first, great video! the rap near the end had me in stitches especially the last line. second fluidity was amazing on wii ware and it stinks we are losing the series as a whole to these closures. third slightly off topic but I wish Nintendo would bring back fossil fighters those games were simple snd wonderful. finally kudos to the gvg crew for there hard work and consistent effort to bring us all A+ content every week. can't wait for what's ahead
Really good content Jon! One thing you should do is write the name of the game in the bottom of the screen. It helps to remember what games to look for
Excellent video, very informative and the rap at the end - particularly the line about Radiant Historia - made me laugh!
Scrolled through a few comments, but couldn't find anything so just thought I'd add that the 'Fantasy Life' DLC is well worth picking up due to the amount of content it adds to the base game.
Also some other games that didn't get mentioned here that will be lost forever are Heavy Fire: Special Operations 3D, Heavy Fire: Black Arms and Dementium Remastered.
Can't speak for the quality of ANY of those I've mentioned as I don't have them myself. Just found them from my own research and just thought I'd share in case someone finds it useful.
Thank you so much for this. Going to make some notes before the eShop closes. Take care 👋
I can't believe it's been so long since the 3DS came out. I got it day one...mostly for KH DDD...but I ended up absolutely loving the system. I got a New 3DS XL as soon as they came out too. I still play regularly.
I was waiting on this video, thanks a lot, Jon. There were a lot of games you reminded me to try and make sure I grab if I haven't already, as well as a few I was unaware of that I'm glad I still have a chance to go and get.
The most frustrating one to me here is Fire Emblem Fates: Revelations. I hate that the physical copy with all 3 routes was special edition only and so rare and expensive. And also, I just simply haven't bought Fates yet, so because of the way the DLC is set up I can't just buy a digital Revelations to have at the ready for when I get a physical Birthright or Conquest, now I have to seek out one of those games, start it, and progress far enough to buy DLC (if it's set up like Echoes). It's not the hugest hassle, but an inconvenience that needs taken care of soon before it's too late and potentially gone forever if it never gets ported.
I know I’m late but you can buy the dlc rite away. Like you don’t have to get to a certain chapter just boot it up and you can get it
@@zwillscoopchannel9689 I just got the DLC today actually. I was able to buy Revelations right away, but you have to get to Chapter 6 to buy other DLCs.
I've been looking for a comprehensive list like this thank you
Thanks for info mate. Definitely learned about some awesome games that I needed to buy, and now have. Great video. Two thumbs up.
It would be nice if nintendo repaid peoples loyalty like they did with the nes/gba games that were made available with the 3ds ambassador programme. Make them available for those staying with the 3ds until the end.
Pocket Card Jockeys was a really good game. I do wish they'd bring it to Switch.
And I do wish Nintendo would do something with the Dillion series, but the series is very touch screen based, so I'm not sure how good it will be if you were just using buttons & stick control to play it.
The switch has a touchscreen, so if it can work with only one screen it could probably work for switch handheld mode
So I think I just heard a rap that finally tops to DK rap.
This video was super informative and had a lot of different games from your usual lists. I’m definitely going to pick up some of these gems
Thanks for this video! I am LITERALLY downloading/updating games across all my 2DS/3DSs as I watch this video.
I'm glad you mentioned Dillons Rolling Western here, I totally forgot about it. It was that one 3ds game I always wanted but never got, now I have to.
Also you can still get TP Picross and Flipnote 3D (at least here in the states, not sure about other regions), I got them both recently after I spent way too long grinding up Platinum points.
It's a shame we're losing so much, but the 3ds definitely made its mark on the gaming world. Hopefully more games 3ds exclusive are ported to future consoles.
Noice it was the game that made me even consider the eshop in the first place and I was not disappointed. I have all three games on my 3DS pretty much
I got zelda picross yesterday in a couple of hours by just hunting poochy on the yoshi crafter world website and then playing like 5 chapters of fire emblem heroes (which was stupidly fast given they just gift you 5 star heroes at the start) so yeah it is absolutely possible to still get it.
There is a video showing how to complete all of the levels in the game.
yoo photo dojo was sick back in the days, it even has a 2p VS mode where both players hold the same DS each with one hand!
Dude I loved harmoknight and I'm so glad you put it on this video!! We definitely need a port or sequel!
Holy Shit! I uninstalled Four Swords when I was a kid and thought that I had lost the game forever, I had no idea you could redownload it. Thank you for this information, I still have a piece of gaming history on my 3DS.
Don't forget to grab a few DSi games
So glad to see someone mention The Denpa Men! Genuinely one of the most underrated series of all time.
The Denpa Men are amazing RPGs
Yea!
If anyone is watching this in the future where the 3ds eshop doesn’t allow to download games, all these games, updates and DLC are archived on the internet.
Excitebike was one of the first 3d games I played on 3DS (Street Fighter was the very first for me). It blew me away. 3DS was truly an incredible experience.
I feel that someday soon they’ll make the original Pokémon games accessible again, whether it’ll be a part of the Nintendo Switch online or maybe even a similar NSO app but only for Pokémon where you can play older Pokémon games. The old games won’t be gone forever
The original pokemon games are already available to play on select Google Play apps pre-installed as well. I cannot find a single version of either pokemon red and blue, though. I also did not try to find Pokemon Gold and Silver through this method either. I just sort of recently found Pokemon Crystal. The game progress takes up storage on your phone though, just to be warned ahead of time. Maybe it is possible to transfer them to your real pokemon game, but you will most likely be needing a video that shows you how to successfully trade a pokemon from Gen 2 to Gen 3 despite Nintendo saying that is not possible to found somewhere on UA-cam, along with the devices mentioned inside of the video as well.
4:05 i actually do have parties with 8 people with a 3ds each. In fact, we played 8-player MK7 last saturday.
You live the dream. I envy you.
Great video, so much fun stuff I didn't know about!
I'm glad you brought X-Scape to my attention. I have never heard if that game before, although I have struggled to play a Japanese ROM of the Gameboy game.
The four swords one looked really cool, I was hoping for an eventual remake for it but if they put that on the switch that would be great.
To get that game, you'd have to have Club Nintendo which really isn't a thing anymore.
It's kind of bizarre that such a multiplayer-centric game that requires every player to have it downloaded would be kept so inaccessible.
@@wesnohathas1993 for real, when I looked it up I say articles saying it was up for 4 days. I get it's 4 swords but it just feels weird.
@@Hauntaku I miss club nintendo, it wasn't perfect but it felt better then my nintendo
And if you haven't yet: it's a good idea to also download game updates even for games you dont own right now. For example: you can't no longer buy Metal Gear Solid 3D but the update is still up and takes about 30 blocks or something. Just like it there are many updates that are very small and would be useful to have in the future
Jon also made a great video on this topic on this new channel he's part of.
Don't forget the definitive versions of Moon and Dementium were remade for the 3ds. Both originally Ds games. Thanks so much Jon!
You seem to be enjoying yourself more here in GVG more! That's great!
The effort... the quality... very well done content!
Pssssst everyone, Pocket Card Jockey 👍
The only bad thing about DSi ware is that for some reason it retains the feature of only being able to launch from the internal memory so you can't bot them from the SD card limiting the amount you can realistically have.
luckly i only want 2
3DS eShop closing is painful. I'll try to pick these up ASAP, but my 3DS just doesn't have enough storage and I don't have a screwdriver to take off the backplate to get the microSD (seriously, why did they put the microSD INSIDE the system?) and so I'm stuck with no storage right now. I'll have to try to do that soon, and grab a massive amount of storage while I'm at it. I believe blocks were closer as an equivalent of megabytes?
Thanks for this video, I needed this either way so I could know what to grab.
Thanks for mentioning Rhythm Thief!
Seriously I can not recommend Pocket Card Jockey enough. I was addicted to that game for MONTHS. I got the Citra emulator on my phone solely to play it on the go at work where I can't bring my 3ds
Did anyone else have the urge to watch Scott the Woz after listening to Jon talk about stupid Nintendo games?
My Nintendo actually still distributes FlipNote 3D and Legend of Zelda Picross. There are also a bunch of exclusive 3DS themes. All you need is a ton platinum coins and a My Nintendo account. The one that was shut down was Club Nintendo.
This is the first video of yours that I have seen, and I have to say: your voice has a very satisfying bass tone to it. Can you do an e-book series where you read Good Night Moon?
