- Pt. Raghunandan Panshikar was the headlining artiste on Day 1 of the popular Khayal Rang concert series curated by FEA. The second piece of his recital at the event was in Raag Nayaki Kanada.
He was accompanied by Bharat Kamat on tabla and Niranjan Lele on harmonium. Tanpura support was provided by Akshay Vardhave.
One of the most underrated powerful Classical Vocalists of India!!
Not under rated but upper rated singer. I am from Dharwad Karnataka.
I wish Kishori Tai was alive to see this. She must have been proud.
I had first heard Pandit Raghunandan Panshikar at Dover Lane, Kolkata. The main performance was Shuddha Malkauns (Baraj Rahi). The caress in his sound, the swarakshep, the taanas - I have been a fan of his enthralling voice from that first interaction.
Superb rendition.... Usually I am addicted to pt Venkatesh Kumar jis music.... gone through whole performance of Pt panshikarji... Enjoyed
Palsikar is singing or teaching? He looks like eternal teacher down400 yrs. Absolutely rare!

Very nice rendition of the raga. Tabla and Harmonium support is of highest order. Beautiful recording.

Harmonium is a bit loud in otherwise excellent recording. See if this can be adjusted.
Why Harmonium? He is a good singer, doesn’t need it. Harmonium
is usually for weaker singers whose voice cracks a bit and has breathing problems
during Alap and Tan. Tanpura is the way to go 🙏🙏
Sarangi, Violin make the concert more full. Harmonium has limitations but it can make the Whole experience more interesting. Also it is now accepted alternative to strings.This H.player is limited but many others play wonderfully well.Almost all our Top artists have supported Harmonium Saath.
Are vo sab jante hai ki ajo gaa rahe hai vo vilakshan hai.. aur jaha tak harmonium ki baat hai to gour kare harmonium gayak ko followe kar raha hai.. naki gayak harmonium ko.
Deveji. , Do u think Kishori, Bhimsen and many other A list Classical Singers have accepted Right hand. Position of Harmonium without evaluating merits and limitations of it.
@@swarmagna In the old days, Bhimsen and Kishori would have been considered 2nd tier artists at best. The artists of today would be considered amateur night artists. Throat singers, not diaphragm singers.
Please let us not kid ourselves, this tradition is a corpse in rigor mortis.
Isaiah Sellassie you’re completely wrong sir....even Ustad Amir Khan along with many gharana elders incorporated harmonium.....especially Bengali artists have popularised it....and to your kind information Pandit Bhimsen Joshi and Kishori ji have never been 2nd tier artists.....during 50s 60s and 70s they were in their heydays , in their best form and held in high esteem.....they were dominating the music arena along with the hearts of many connoisseurs.....such statements and remarks are gravely in poor taste
