7! ❤ and honestly the "leaving my phone in another room (even with the alarm!) made it so much easier! I was snoozing and scrolling for so long in the morning before that!
I like waking up earlier because it makes me feel like I have more control over my day. Waking up right before work just made me feel like the only point of my life is live to work, not work to live. Love this video Zoe! ❤
As a sleep scientist, don't beat yourself up if you can't reach the goal of waking up early. If you have an evening chronotype (you are a night owl) then it might even be harmful to do so. Don't worry tho, half of the human population is an in-between type- it's relatively easy for them to switch. Please, please, please check which chronotype you are before trying to do something that's very much against your nature!
I've been waking up at 5am (ish) lately and have been loving how much I'm able to accomplish in the mornings. I have never been a morning person, so waking up at 5 is a STRUGGLE. Love these tips. PS - appreciate you being vulnerable about your story, a lot of people have been struggling with anxiety and depression especially through COVID. Sending you all the love! 💕
Going to take this opportunity to say that waking up early but more importantly going to bed early has changed my life. I had a horrible sleeping schedule, where I would stay awake all night long, go to bed at around 6AM, wake up at 9 to start working from home, then nap from 6PM to 7PM to go to gym and then do it over again. Not only was I not seeing results at the gym but I was completely miserable both mentally and physically. What made me get control of my sleep is that I started to feel my brain literally on fire. I was truly killing myself from the immense sleep deprivation I had. My brain felt hot and with so much pressure. I was also extremely depressed and (trigger warning) was becoming suicidal. My sleep deprivation was so severe that every aspect of my life was out of control. Getting in a good sleeping schedule was a lot of work and I required medication but ultimately it has been the best thing I have ever done for myself. A lot of people underestimate the value of not just a lot of sleep but good quality sleep.
I can say this vey confidently that you really really hit the bulls eye on this one. honestly, well done, I think you've just conducted this whole video perfectly, something that a lot of UA-camrs just can't seem to do. I've just found your channel and think ill be watching more :)
I wake up at about 5:15 every day and by the time 9:30 rolls around I am exhausted haha! I have a computer/desk job but I find that filling my non computer time with walks, being outside, a workout, cooking a fun meal, spending time on my hobbies leaves me not only fulfilled but tired! And going to bed early means waking up early!
dang Zoe I've been watching your videos for a while but put this one off for some reason, maybe because I'm a little turned off by aesthetic morning routines- just overplayed to me personally. or maybe I put it off because I wasn't ready to commit to waking up earlier.. but I really enjoyed this! I feel inspired to get up at 5(ish) tomorrow- I already get up at 7 but my workday starts at 8 so I kinda need more time for myself. you're especially well-spoken in this vid too and you made me think outside the alarm-in-another-room box. (and the jellybean thing made me lol for real)
Thanks for the super helpful video Zoe! I think anxiety about the day is a major barrier to my waking up early - something i now realise i need to work on 😅
My favorite line from this video is “I’m a jelly bean at night” 😂 In all seriousness, thank you for being vulnerable and sharing why you started waking up early. Loved the tips you shared!
I am a morning person and I naturally wake up around 5:30am every morning full of energy and I don't drink caffeine/sugar to keep me going in the morning but then I am not as productive in the afternoon as my body start to slow down at around 2 - 3pm. We are all different. Some people like to sleep in but then they are more productive in the evening than I am. Being a morning person is not something ''superior''. I became a breakfast chef because I wanted to do something productive early in the morning and it works great for me but I don't think it's bad waking up at 8am or even 10am as long as you get your stuff done. My twin brother usually wakes up at 10 -11am but he likes to do thing in the evening/late night so it works for him and it's great. I don't think we should be trying to become a ''morning person'' if we are naturally not like that. I've tried to become a nigh owl and it left me depressed...not worth it
Great tips Zoe and different than what I've heard before! One of my goals for May is to wake up earlier more often and go to bed earlier. When i do that i feel way better the next day, more energized. Becca has such good videos! I'm definitely going to follow your tips ❤
This video was right on time for me. Last week, I chose to start getting up at 6am. I used to set my alarm at 7am & roll out of bed around 7:50am (10 mins before work lol). I feel better getting up earlier. I can take my time & ease into the day with working out & eating breakfast. Thanks for the tips!
Thanks Zoe, very timely video! I was doing amazing waking up early and going to hiit classes but covid ruined the habit. Starting getting back into it in 2022, but moved to Brussels from Amsterdam this year and the fitness scene is practically non existent here 😢 trying to replace it with a home workout at 06:30 but that’s a real struggle
I definitely need to change my language…. And I just did it again 😂… I AM changing my language, lol. It is very powerful, I totally agree! Our mind is listening to us. Talking positive to ourselves goes along way. Thanks for sharing Zoe!❤
i cant tell you how happy this makes me, thank you Mary ❤️❤️❤️ you have the same name as my best friend hehe! the sweater is from Garage! here is the link if you are interested: groupedynamite.pxf.io/varsitysweater
@@ZoePritchard Of course! I'm 24 and started consulting in Big 4 in 2020 (during the pandemic). I 10000% relate to waking up just before my first meetings and barely having time for myself from M-F - I created a lot of unhealthy habits that amplified my anxiety/depression by a mile (my therapist agreed that my job was not healthy) - not waking up early, revenge scrolling at night, not working out, etc.. Sorry I didn't specify - the sweater from the video, not the thumbnail (that sweater's cute too). Also I love Garage, I discovered them when I did my French study abroad in Quebec!
Oh myyy Zoe! I do sometimes some scrolling on TikTok on cell before going to sleep. Such a bad habit! When I do so, I don't sleep well at night. It's like my mind gets stuck in there and I cannot sleep. I am 42 and I do such thing...
Thanks for sharing! I’ve been trying to wake up earlier. It’s difficult when the bed is cozy and warm and it’s still dark out 😅 I have to start using my therapy SAD LAMO more
What time do you wake up in the morning? ⏰☀️
8:00 am ☀️
Watching this as soon as I wake up at 5.45 in Australia!
7! ❤ and honestly the "leaving my phone in another room (even with the alarm!) made it so much easier! I was snoozing and scrolling for so long in the morning before that!
6:30am during the week to get my kids to school and I start work at 8:30am, but on the weekend I sleep in until 9am 😊
6:30! It gives me time to go to the gym, get ready, walk my dog, and eat breakfast before work at 9 ☺
I like waking up earlier because it makes me feel like I have more control over my day. Waking up right before work just made me feel like the only point of my life is live to work, not work to live.

those lamps help so much!! but i feel you, the bed in the morning is the best thing 🙈
Love it! Maybe creating a challenge for yourself for a video of "going to bed every night at 9:30 for 10 days" will help you to get into the habit!
omg this is such a good idea 😍😍😍😍
Love your tips! It helps to be a morning person
thank you!!
You need a serious mukbang video to pump up the number of your subscribers ! I really mean it !!!❤
