    GREAT VIDEO! I have been suffering from occasional unsteadiness, caused by tight neck muscles for 20 years. No medical professional could find a cause. Finally, I found a wonderful, gentle PT in Stillwater, Minnesota (OSI Physical Therapy) who applied this technique. WOW, thanks to her, I am feeling 100% better. I now have neck strengthening exercises to keep my neck strong and relax my sub occipitals. After years of going to MD’s, chiropractors, massage therapists, enduring vestibular rehabilitation therapy - 12 weeks of that nonsense - even an MRI, with NO help, I finally found a PT who applied this exact method. It works! Phew. So thankful!

    If you don’t have a second person to help then you can also try this (finally fixed my occipital neuralgia/pinched nerve)- I sat on the floor, crossed my legs, sat with good posture, took my palm and gently pressed my forehead back while applying opposing pressure from the back of my head. I did 3-4 reps of 10 seconds each. Here’s where it gets a little hokie I talked to my nerves and while doing this exercise I said “my nerves are releasing”. I felt the nerve release from under my skull. I’d definitely try if you feel your pinched nerve is trapped under your skull like mine was. Pulling on the back of my head never helped me, only aggravated the burning pain.

    Great job of instructing with this technique. I've used this many times in massage, but had forgotten what it was called. I learned it from the PT's I worked with for a number of years. Only think I do different is have them breath deeply, and exhale slowly as if blowing up a balloon, all the while consciously focusing on relaxing their neck and shoulders. Thank you for sharing.

Had my husband do this for 2 mintues and I feel such a relief 😌...can't imagine once he can last longer for the treatment!!! You know it's funny but I used to do something kind of like this by resting my neck on something and it would make it feel better. I never knew why it worked just that it did. Now I see why! Of course it doesn't work as well as a trained person doing it, but sometimes it's a good backup for when pain is bad and I can't get to a therapist do have it worked on.

    I had this done a few years ago by a chiropractor and 15 seconds in I fainted for about 20 seconds. I had weakness for a couple days after that and was scared to drive. Recently I did this on myself just lightly with my fingertips, enough pressure to lightly bruise an apple, and I held for a minute. My limbs weakened and I couldn’t sleep that night. I kept getting sharp pains around my brain in random spots but they didn’t hurt and lasted 2 seconds at most. It’s now 2 days since I did this and I’m doing better but still feel a sense of dizziness. I tried lying my neck on a rolled towel but it made the issue worse and made me dizzier. Where can I go to address this? Obviously something is wrong but I’m only 23! I’ve seen a NUCCA chiropractor before all this too where he only adjusted my C1 vertebrae and fixed my spinal tilt in 6 months from a 12.6° degree tilt to now a 6.2° tilt. But I don’t see how that would affect me to this degree… I would love for this technique in the video to help me! 😢

    My wife has Chiari type with a decompression surgery and still has insane muscle tightness and blinding headaches.
    I actually do this for her and it helps somewhat. Never saw this technique anywhere but the idea made sense for me for some reason.
    I even use some slight traction. But her relief is just enough to relax and sometimes the pain comes right back.
    The waiting up to 8 min or more makes so much sense and the slow release to eliminate rebound is mind blowing for me right now. I knew nothing about that happening.
    Also the arm resting on the table for fatigue is brilliant. My hands hurt so much doing this.
    I appreciate the tips and explanation so much! I really feel this will help me in helping her going forward.

    • @sdsures

    • @kennyLLC
      @kennyLLC 6 років тому +1

      Stephanie Briggs I am sure that is true but the cop-out doesn't help us get our massive bills paid when your own doctor refuses to acknowledge the cause of such nerve damage.
      My guess is that they don't want to be subpoena'd into a courtroom as an expert witness for the victim. That would be a waste of their precious time and money as they have a line of rescriptors coming into their office every day for controlled substances. The DEA requires ridiculous visitations every 6 months for even the safest schedule 4 drug, and insurance companies can require them every month.
      No time to represent victims in court when there is money to be made.
      My experience with my traumatic brain injury has left me sour toward even keeping a primary physician. It is a treadmill of corruption and pain.

    This technique is being used for stress related headaches, or muscle relax therapy. Migraine is being considered (only theories no evidence for..) as a vascular problem so, obviously this won't work.

    • @sdsures
      @sdsures 6 років тому +1

      Migraines have more than one cause, so depending on what type you have, certain therapies may not work. Causes for migraine include muscle tension, food triggers and pre-existing neurological damage (which affects how the brain interprets pain).
      The technique in the video works best on migraine that is caused by muscular tension in the head and neck.

      Having the samy symptoms (right side). Also a burning pain from neck to forehead. Even some spots on my cheek are burning. On the beginning it was on my whole head. Since a few weeks its luckily only one sided. My pain got caused since from a bad chiro therapy to release my stiffness from the neck.. i felt a strange pain on my right neck,close to the skull after this. Its chronic since 2 months.. Im so scared it will never go away.. Ibuprofen does help for a few hours, but the side effects are bad.. I hope this treatment can help..

    In Polarity practice there is a remarkably identical protocol. I have also heard of NUCCA chiropractic. Of course the pharmacidical industry would burn you at the stake for actually wanting to heal without their drugs. Problem is, they have been sanctioned to do everything just short of that.
