I have a playlist made up of just the instrumental versions of their title tracks. When they put in the vocals the instruments get muted a bit and the beautiful voices really catch your attention, so it's easy to miss things. The music itself is just so frickin good.

I don't know about other fandom but Mayday is the only song that InSomnia and Dreamcatcher sing and play the instrument together in the whole Special Clip, haven't known any other Interaction like this one along my K-pop Stan Life since 2010

The two rapping parts in Scar was actually Gahyeon not Yoohyeon. Dami wrote it and always wanted Gahyeon to rap more.
It was all the members but Yoohyeon said her voice was a little more big
@@alac2566 Yeah, Yoohyeon's voice does come out strongest, but most CCL at the time put it as Gahyeon so that's what most people believe. And since we'll NEVER get a live version it'll just have to be in contention forever.
They are all so talented tbh it could have highlighted any one of them and I would have been like “yup that tracks!” 🤣
When the time comes, you should check out their intro+You&I performance in the rain with their rain outfits.. it's practically legendary.
Also the reason why i love listening to the instrumental versions is due to the different instruments that can be heard that are covered by the vocals

Also from what you said about negative comments, InSomnia never had negative people at the start, but like any other group, the more popular they get, the more them negative people shows up, and I'm glad you don't tolerate that. Much respect ❤

I can't wait for raid of dreams! Speaking of that album, the girls did do a self made MV for the track "curse of the spider" but u won't find it on UA-cam, only off a fancam of it because it was only showed at their first fanmeet concert (if I recalled correctly). I have managed to download that fancam and put eng sub on it and put the original track on it ( cus the fancam had fans laughing so u couldn't really hear the song as clear). Sadly I thought I had it on my Google drive but I can't find it, or else I would link you it for u to watch or react to it 😭. I'll see if I can find it on my hard drive but I might not have it anymore.
Siyeon was actually a vocalist of a rock band when she was a student In fact, she said that her favorite genre is rock and she is a fan of Japanese rock band One Ok Rock, so she went to a concert alone

I'm sorry that some people have been leaving some bad comments. The 7 lovely leaders of our little cult made an entire trilogy to speak against online hate and negative comments, so anyone doing it it's not a true InSomnia. Regarding the album, 'You and I' and 'Mayday' are among my favourite DC songs, they're sooo good, and the intro is amazing, it's a perfect blend of rock and electronic music that I could also see being in a movie trailer or OST. Thanks for another DC reaction!

ohh the intros also set the mood for the tittle track so well, they sometimes do that and i love it but i think all insomnia will agree that "DREAMCATCHER, INTRO+YOU AND I [2018 DREAM CONCERT]" it's such a perfect performance, i hope you can watch it too at any time 🥰 and thanks for keep this place safe for all
I added it to my "Need to watch" doc! I have many Dreamcatcher videos that I won't get to during this deep dive but started a list of ones I still need to watch! Even after this deep dive there will still be more Dreamcatcher videos 😊😊
Thanks for the video. With it being 2018, you can see the start of the experimental sound with EDM. I figured you'd like "INSIDE - OUTSIDE" because of that. "YOU AND I" is probably the song that got me hooked on Dreamcatcher. It was the violins that got to me. Still in my top three title tracks to this day. I legit laughed when you thought "Mayday" was gonna be a ballad. It's my favorite from the album. And a recent live version, either from an online concert or concert footage is a must see. This is usually one of their encore songs. They always sing it with so much energy. And the live vocals on this is just ear candy. Whenever I listen to "Which a star" I always feel like I'm floating in the clouds. "Scar" will always have a special place as being DAMI first written song. The instrumentals are so good and deserve a listen. The violins work so well.
I love that they experiment with different sounds and genres! I think that why I like them so much because I just don't really know what I'm going to get from them! I truly thought Mayday was the ballad! ... nope LOL I didn't realize when I was first listening to Scar that Dami wrote it, and I makes me love it even more now know that was one of her first songs she wrote 🥰
@@roguereacts There's this moment in a variety show where they have to listen to a mix of songs. "Scar" was a part of the mix, but Yoohyeon convinced the members it was another DC song. And then DAMI trolls her for it in a vlive. It was pretty funny.
i love how unprepared you seemed to be for Which a Star. it's my favorite on the album, and one of the many superb synthpop songs they do. 7 or 8 of my top 15 DC songs are some sort of retro 80s/90s callback synthpop, electropop, edm, or similar. this is the most ballad-y of them, and this is the song that first got me into dreamcatcher. my middle daughter knew i'd eventually fall in deep for dreamcatcher, so she kept tossing songs at me until one hit.
i think you've heard most, if not all of these by now, but the synth/electonic songs i love are Which a Star, Can't Get You Out of My Mind, Whistle, Trap, In the Frozen, Silent Night, Poison Love, Starlight. i think that's all the ones i super love. i mean the others are good, too, but those are all always playlisted.
Yeah I was very much not prepared for that type of song! You must thank your daughter for the persistence! 🥰 I would say most of those songs are some of my favs currently, especially Silent Night and In the Frozen... soooo good!

absolutely valid for choosing this one as ur fav intro so far, it’s gotta be one of my all-time favourite intros. honestly the songs in this entire album rank hella high out of their entire discography for me, i’ve listened to mayday and scar especially too many times to count 😭
justice for scar though, dami’s a genius for writing that and song’s so fucking good but they haven’t performed it live ever i don’t think 😔

This album is great, scar chorus melody line hit the sweet spot for me. the only sad thing is that which a star and scar is like never perform and i love these 2 songs so much. And you and i instrumental is my fav instrumental in the nightmare series. There is so much going on but still come together so well. Excited for your next reaction, take care ❤

don't feel sorry for pausing! i don't mind seeing someone fangirl without pausing, but if you have smth to say, say it! otherwise you'll get distracted by whatever comes next. if we didn't have these "talk" times with a pause, we would just be seeing someone jamming out and not getting a sense to their personality/taste/etc. about the reaction, intro is sick af! You & I MV was where Yoohyeon met the Spider Lady and got sucked into the Dreamworld and What was where they try to save her. Don't feel bad for getting it wrong, it's been a lot of reactions and I'm sure you'll revisit these videos in your own time, but right now keep enjoying the Dreamcatcher train! Mayday is gonna be one of your faves during Dreamcatcher concerts, they love singing the pre-choruses with Insomnias, it looks so fun!! "I wasn't expecting this" is something you'll say a lot with their b-sides. you think you've heard all the possible genre bends in the world and they're like, no you havent lololol xD i feel like Scar and Mayday could've been titles tracks EASILY. Scars gives me anime OP vibes haha. The metal-ish post-chorus is so unexpected fr. You & I instrumental is SO GOOD. no wonder they put orchestral bits in the intro. Dreamcatcher are the queens of layers, whether it be their instrumentals, vocal harmonies or genre bends. What an album!

in which a star, the translation is weird. "yeogin eoneu byeol", yeogin actually from yeogi neun. yeogi means here, neun is like particle word. byeol means star, eoneu byeol actually which a star, but in the video translated to "what planet I'm on". yes some words are having different translation (like nun that can be eyes or snow). but from star to planet seems too far away, both literally and scientifically.
in Scar, as others said, that post chorus rap is actually Gahyeon.
the violin in You & I actually really clear, even more clear compared to Fly High. if you didn't hear maybe because you lost into the vibe, like what usually dreamcatcher music do. even me on latest release got lost and didn't realize Yoohyeon's part.
this EP and Dystopia: Road To Utopia don't have actual ballad. Which a Star is the slowest one here but as you said, pop synth. Scar has a bit of ballad vibe but the tempo not really a ballad, so fast pace.
next EP alone in the city, they have another new genre. the spoiler is "coconut trees", doesn't mean included in lyric or special clip visually.

wait, what insomnia... uh... 'fan' left negative remarks? call them out somewhere so we can have a word with them. that's not becoming of insomnias. dreamcatcher has a very diverse discography so not everyone can like every song. I would say nearly all insomnias realize this and should be very accepting when others don't like a particular song. but I honestly can't think of anything you said in any of your dreamcatcher videos that would invoke hate??
anyways back to the album, which a star is arguably their 'ballad' of the album. I would classify it as a synthpop ballad. the bpm for the song is among the slowest within their discography and the lyrics are among the same theme as many of their songs which address insomnias. the lyrics as I interpret them is about wanting to relive a moment(with someone) and feeling lost at which point a bird repeats star star star to indicate the path to follow. most people nowadays equate a ballad to a slow romantic song, but in the traditional sense a ballad is a story in song form. I think I mentioned it in a past comment, many songs that are/for insomnias reference celestial bodies because they are a common point both sides can share despite any geographical difference. the other common ground is within dreams. normally the last song is the ballad but I think the exception in this case is because dami wrote scar so it's considered an album bonus similar to siyeon's paradise which closed out their first full album.

I would agree on the ballad, I noticed a lot of their "ballads" are more like a rock ballad or a synthpop ballad. They remind me a lot of a 70s/80s rock ballads!
no two of their albums sound anything similar to each other. they're so insanely good at switching up the genres they choose to do. scar is one of my favorite b-sides from them, so is mayday. I agree that Siyeon was born to be a rock artist, she's just the embodiment of the genre
100% accurate! Every album so far as been so different! I love that about them! I just never know what I'm going to get with each album I listen to!
If I were to try and define/breakdown DC albums, the intros are kinda like the producer's "show off time" track, also I've come to the conclusion that defining a genre like ballad/rock/EDM/etc is almost impossible when it comes to DC. Essentially all their title tracks have some form of rock/metal influences and their B-sides is a total wildcard. It's just full of hidden gems. They can go from trap/drum N bass/synthpop to rock ballad/raggae/jazz... I think you see where I'm going with this. In the end, all I want to say is, enjoy the ride, lol!

I think "Which a Star" is supposed to be the ballad. Scar was thrown on the end as it was Dami's first stab at writing a full song. Lyrics of singing were wrong on "Scar" it was Gahyeon rapping both sections not Yoohyeon.
