    The video indicates that West Coast time is 2 hrs before East Coast time. Is this correct? Shouldn't the West Coast peak viewing time be 11:00pm - 1:00am? The video also shows all time zones as EDT.

      The West Coast is 3 hours before the East Coast because of Daylight Savings Time from April to November and 2 hours from November to April.

      Go out on the night of 23rd - 24th. The peak is predicted for 0700 - 0900 CET on the 24th, so from Central Europe you should see more meteors in the early hours of the morning before dawn.

      The peak is obviously in daylight for Germany, but you may see something in the early morning hours building up to it.

      How did you get on? I saw one meteor in 15 minutes before it got cloudy. But I'm in England and it was a few hours earlier than the predicted peak.

      Same here, and they were strays. We did some good observing with telescopes and binoculars, so it was not a total waste but the pro's laid an egg on this one. We had three Astronomy clubs observing from sundown till 4:00AM.

    • @CanadianRose
      @CanadianRose 10 років тому

      John Sparks That is crazy. You know it's bad when three Astronomy clubs can't see anything. It's like they dangled something cool in front of us and then took it away and said "Just kidding".

    • @compman67

      More like earth with run into the path of dust left behind by the comet that passed the earth back in the 1800's... We move through all kinds of things in space... Most likely it will just be a pretty show..... We are in no more or no less danger than we are at any other point in time.. Most events like this have happened in the past without humans knowing they are coming. .... It just seems more scary because we can see some of this stuff coming now.... Just like getting a shot.. you worry more when you know its coming.. Should be a fun show :D

    • @ishaniayoutubefanpage7316
      @ishaniayoutubefanpage7316 10 років тому
