I am wondering if there is an option you can add comments section to a pivot table other way then actually have special 'comments' column in the original data tab. I need to update my pivot with comments, but I couldn't find the option to do so. Please let me know if there is such option. Thank you
Is there a way to extract data from one table and insert in another? I have a table with internal invoice numbers that repeat multiple times to show sub contractor invoices. I like to extract each internal invoice and have them in a separate table where each will be unique. I hope this makes sense. As you can probably tell, I’m a novice.
Hi Leila, I download a bank statement daily and add information to it. With the information I have created an Analysis field so as to be able to identify types of expenditure and receipts during the year for each month. I created a pivot table that has the receipt and expenditure type in each row in one column, and Years in one row and Months in another in each column from left to right to the end of the data. With total for each were the intercept. I have been trying to add an opening and closing balance rows just below the Grand Totals in my Pivot Table. I ideally wanted it all auto update when I hit the refresh on the Pivot Table. I cannot get it to work unless I do it manually by pulling a column of data from left to right to reference the new data in the Pivot Table. I cannot seem to get the GETPIVOTDATA to work with the Receipt/Expenditure type with the Years and Months. Do you have any suggestions. I was hoping to reference the first one (the header "title" with a cell reference ($A5 instead of "Sum of Revenue") Is this possible somehow??? Hi Leila,when using GETPIVOTDATA inside SUM to get sum of all row items it gives #REF! error if any of the row item is Null.is there a workaround for this(for eg:=SUM(GETPIVOTDATA("Qty",A3,"Product",{"Apple","Orange","Pineapple"},"Month","Jan")) here if for month Jan there is no value for Orange and Pineapple it gives #REF.
I am having trouble understanding the GETPIVOTDATA function. I just want the calculated sales total from my pivot table to display at the bottom so I can do My own formulas with it, however - my sheet is set like horizontally. I am probably missing a simple step- but I am not sure.
Hey, I have the data for which I wanted to create a inforgraphics.. In the data I have three columns:- area, No of days, total customer met. For example: New Delhi, 12, 50 It means in new Delhi in 12 days I met 50 people.. And my data goes on like this.. So how can I create a Inforgraph for this.. So that it is better understanding through chart. Pls help
You know what's sad? You can get 1080p videos from Udemy on UA-cam but rarely on Udemy. You can choose 720p and lower on Udemy. If you want 1080p you need to choose AUTO and pray that Udemy website will be kind to you.
You don't need to convert your data set to a Table using CTRL+T, you can just set the data source of the pivot table to be $A$D (all data in columns A through D)

Yes, but why? I rejected GETPIVOTDATA function as unnecessary (compared to the SUMIFS function).

Pemba, move the chart you want to show as part of a dashboard to a new sheet with the slicer.

Can you focus ONLY on the GET DATA function? A simple how-to is all that's needed.

I think you'll end up having blank values, which in some cases would need to be removed by deselecting "blank" in your pivot table filters.
