- Most American cruise ships have an Italian night. Here is my experience with Italian night in the main dining room and pizza from the Pizza Pirate on the Carnival Pride.

"Why not just go to Bonsai sushi?" Because the friends that you cruised with don't like sushi, but you still like them and want to spend time with them. Hence, Bonsai Sushi in the main dining room.
Being a “world traveler” I’ve had Chinese, Mexican, Italian, etc in many different parts of the world and everyone puts their own flavor to it. Since the “chefs” on a cruise ship come from all parts of the world, you get their twists as well, some good, some not so good. Either way, it’s a vacation! I’m on a cruise and lovin it!
Never been to France nor do I regularly eat that kind of food, but I’ve had French food in the Windjammer on Royal Caribbean and thought to myself…”this can’t be real French food.” It was bad!
Thanks Tony! I really like the shows where you walk around the ships and give your commentary. It is so fun, like being there.
I come from a long line of Italians, but NO eyetalians. On another note, I noticed the same thing in the MDR on my last cruise. The wait staff is called away to do a show, and I'm still waiting for my dinner. I'd rather have the dinner so I can get to the theater on time for the show. Not to mention that the wait staff works hard enough already. Finally, people waiving around napkins that they have been using to wipe food off their faces cannot be the most sanitary thing.
Italian!
😂
Oh my, a long list of grievances. I enjoy it all.
She's a classic, beautiful Carnival Ship. Glad to see her still in good shape.
Thank you for sharing. And, enjoy Italian Dinner Night!! 🇮🇹
When you were trying the appetizers, that was the best Jack Black face impersonation ever😂
In Italy, ask for Spaghetti Alfredo, the waiter will ask "who's Alfredo?" If they accept, your in a tourist place. Italiano. Matto. 😂
Chef Alfredo Di Lelio started two different restaurants in Rome. Both are known for their Fettucine Alfredo.
Thanks Tony! We truly enjoy your cruise vlogs.
Chocolate Melting Cake is my fav. I love how the Pride looks.
Same with a side of peanut butter 😋
Those old ships look like they were designed by Jules Vern...
I think you are getting why we love the Pride ❤ It's just the small details..even the non David ones 🤣 It's just the perfect size ship with an easy layout. Enjoy!
"Stop horsing around" LOL! I love it, hehehe🤣😂🤣
Sometimes, your facial expressions are priceless. Thank you for sharing.
The ship’s style seems it would be a good fit for their “Fun Italian Style” ships that came from the Costa brand.
Thanks Tony, it feels like we have just been on board with you. A nice escape from the sometimes humdrum of live.
Thx for sharing something more than cruise news for my face
Ya this isn’t as popular as the regular show but it’s fun to make. :)
@@LaLidoLoca and I really enjoyed it. Hope more is to come. Thx T
I just got off of The Sunshine out of Charleston and they had no Italian wedding soup on Italian night. I did have some good soups but i missed that.
The melting cake is the best ❤
There is no debate about the pronunciation of Italian.
The chocolate melting cake is my favorite!!!!
Enjoy Tony and keep the great videos coming
We really enjoyed the Spirit in January. Never waited for elevators and easily to get around. ( the 3 pools we also great)!
We cruised on the Spirit for the Halloween cruise! It was a great cruise!
When I'm on a ship, in the main Dining room, and I order 2 appetizers, I ask that they bring 1 at a time. I HATE having to move my place settings to accommodate them. I was on the Disney Magic and our table mate ordered 5 apps, they brought them all at once. I was moving stuff to accommodate him. I love veal Marsala.
One of the reason I despise Carnival is your diner sits in a stack getting cold while the waiters dance. When you complain and say you want hot food, they don’t understand why.
Only Eyetalians in Eyetaly, so chalk one up for Don. "Intro, intro, intro is starting." Time for a Pacific cruise.
Tony, you have to eat breakfast in the MDR at least once on this cruise. I recommend the Vanilla French Toast with caramelized bananas. It is absolutely amazing!!! Your videos are making me miss the Pride. We were just on there a few weeks ago. We had table 144 in Normandie Dining Room. In this video, at the beginning of Showtime, the lady who is in front of the line and the guy behind her, were our MDR servers every night.
Sea day Brunch: steak & eggs!
Vanilla French Toast with caramelized bananas 😮 ?? Wow that sounds good! I will be on the Celebration this coming Nov and have to try that. Is that only served for sea day brunch?
Sailed the Pride when she just started. Thinking it's time to re- visit. Thanks Tony! Big 👍!!!
Show us more of your meals on your cruises.😊
Tony, I must say that you are looking really healthy since your surgery! That monster must have been wreaking havoc in your system!! Glad you got it out!!
Fun video today. Thanks. Getting my cruise fix vicariously here.
Food looked good! That was American Italian, real Italian is different...
The Pride is our go-to ship; at least is was pre-pandemic. Maybe the best ship overall. We always had a good time!
Wow, that Joe Farcus ship decor is a throwback! I need to get on that ship again.
Enjoy Tony!
Dinner time for me, now!
Thank you, Tony😊
Thanks Tony! Great Italian night vlog. Nice to see all the art around the ship.
Great video ❤❤❤❤
Been on the Pride several times. Thanks for the nostalgic (for me) tour.
Now That's my type of Video...
Fast and fun Thanks Mate
I love the Pride. Sailed on her for my first 3 cruises from Baltimore. Less than an hour from my house and I'm on board and on vacation. Happy she's coming back.
Love the food videos.
Like I said it's One of my favorite Carnival.ships
Thanks for showing Italian night. Like the ship too.
Ship looks really nice, food looked good too. Enjoy your cruise Tony.
Love the Carnival Pride, it is beautiful!
Happy hump day Tony & Jenny!!!
That ship interior is amazing!!!! I would be hard pressed to get off. So many items to see.
Saw your pics of your shore excursion there in Montigo Bay. Can't wait to hear what you thought of the place. 👍👍
Costa is my favorite for Italian food. It's more traditional Italian, than Americanized Italian, though.
I love that ship. The carnival pride was the ship I took my first cruise on.
I've always said Italian pronouncing the i as in hit. I love seeing your video of the Pride. It brings back memories. I especially just like watching the sea go by.
I love this ship soooo much. I'll be boarding the Pride this May for a Journey cruise to Greenland. I cannot wait!
great video,
Just noticed you're over 250K subscribers, way to go!
I love all the food on a cruise :) Wish I was on there too. We don't go again until Dec so a long wait. We are going to Aruba too on the Magic.
I love the ship, but I miss the tablecloths in the MDR.
I was also shocked to see no tablecloths. They are part of the cruising experience in the dining room, even on Carnival.
Yes I expect cloth tablecloths for a fine dining experience in the MDR.
Missed the cruise news, but enjoyed live Cruise action. Just stop horsing around 😅
We spent 30 days on Venezia and loved the new menus. Enjoy your cruise and we'd love to see you dance with the wait staff in the MDR❤️🛳️
Linguine Vongole (linguine with clams) is my favorite Italian dish to order.
Love the secret garden
The Pride gives off okd world cruising vibes. We will have to try that ship sometime!
That food sure looked good,, all of it.. - Mmmmm,, Italian food never disappoints.. - Loved the decor and unusual paintings on the walls.. - What a neat video,, thanks Tony.. - Take care.. 🌷
We were on that ship last month. Great ship
It looks like a better menu for Italian night than what Royal offers!
HAHA - another great video!
We are used to Italian/American food, but when you go to Italy, it’s different! Everything tastes so much better!
I think most Americans don't know Italian food, just Italian American food.
Meh, it all depends on where you are both in the US/Canada and Italy. I grew up in Chicago that has the second largest Italian American population behind NYC and the food in Little Italy is some of the best you'll find. However I've also lived in six other states and spent time in several others and the Italian food is hit or miss. For example there's a place in Vegas (if it's till there) that is some of the best Italian food I've ever had but where I live at in Virginia it's meh. I've also been to Italy several times (mostly southern Italy) and the food was hit or miss. I wouldn't say it was nasty but a lot of it was just meh.
I'd rather eat at Olive Garden than what's on that crappy Carnival menu. Seriously!!!
@@stevemcgowen speak for yourself. I was raised right (and not even Italian lol). BUT my parents had Italian friends, as did I, and I learned young that Olive Garden crap is NOT Italian food. Not even sure it's real food lol. Then I hit the lottery. I lived in a high rise Boston apt directly across from a couple from Italy. We became dear friends. It was like living across from the best Italian restaurant, in Italy. Except it was free and always open!! If they heard me come in, they would make sure I ate, and usually had a plate of some treat waiting. I had dinner there at least 2 or 3 times a week. They would literally get offended if I got full LOL.
That ruined me for less than the best Italian food on the planet!! I would try to make it up to them, but they wouldn't eat anything American, except for the occasional Birthday Cake (even then they wanted me to get it at the Italian bakery LOLOL and I was always a damn good cook in my own right, esp for cakes. Good times, for many years.
@@kenyattaclay7666 I think part of the problem is EVERY state AND Country have tourist traps, that will give the lowest quality often at the highest prices. When I first moved to Boston, some (not all) of the food in the North End was amazing. Now the rents are so high that you need a 2nd mortgage to go to the best places. And the bad places, still expensive, are less than mediocre. Plus the internet has been a great tool and also ruined some of the best hole in the wall restaurants arounds. Now there are lines at the door at spots you had to be in the know about not all that many years ago.
I'll be here all week! Try the Veal!
David? Dave's not here man. - Chong
I love...all food. Not too picky, but I do love it when something surprises me on a cruise. You are inspiring me to do a solo cruise Tony! I would love to be on my own for a trip.
Walls remind me of the decor in The Pancake Parlour.
The Italian menu looks good. My husband was Italian American and so often the Italian menu was strange on ships. The best time we had on cruises were the people at our table
The Carnival Pride looks a lot like a Costa ship. I wonder if they used the same art vendors. I worked on the Costa Atlantica and the decor looks very similar. Lots of glass art and very lush looking,
I in Italy is an e. Eetailian
I've had the Nonna's meatball at the Cucina del Capitano, and it's like the size of a baseball. Evidently they don't supersize in the main dining room. I like the Chicken Parm in the Cucina also.
Has that ship changed on last refurbished from when I was on it for a repositioning from Rome to Ft Lauderdale in 2013....thxs for sharing.
Dutch
I know that you know it’s not pronounced I-talian!! Enjoy your cruise and have fun can’t wait for the next video.
I like the secret spot..
You crack me up. Love your faces….for our face! Ha. Food looked great.
I love veal Marsala!
Everything looked delicious.
Love veal.. piccata, marsala and parmigiana…mmmm, glad you enjoyed your dinner🚢🙂
Good to see you back on a ship, giving a tour! Love your blogs 😊 And, it’s not I-talin
Food aside, I have never been on a Carnival ship. After watching this video I will never ever cruise on one.
Good Afternoon Tony
Your facial expressions are killin me! Need to know where to get some good authentic Jamaican food in Mo Bay! Enjoy❤❤❤.
Anyone know this movie quote and here is a hint, it’s an 80’s film…”what is he? I - talian?”
I’d rather eat Italian on an American cruise ship than anything (except the pizza) on an Italian cruise ship.
If you know, you know.
yuck.
Yum!
It is …It Talian! My husband is Italian and gets after me every time I mispronounce it!! 30 years you think I’d get it right lol
Your expressions are priceless😅
What have the Roman's ever done for US .... NO BLOOD WINE 🍷
On Carnival, it's EYEtalian. Anywhere else, Italian has a short sound for the I.
The blue mermaids are still there WOW thanks Tony I do love the old pride ship and she hasn't changed a bit
I'm going on the Pride in January! 🎉
Second, I love Italian food.
Will the waiters be wearing spaghetti hats as they dance at dinner? Yeah, the statue is gone but the weird layout remains. lol Just got back from the NCL Dawn. That's a story that needs to be told.
"Come-on-a my house and l'm gonna give you everything "..l'll make you my famous chicken parmigiana. Love from Canada 🇨🇦
Meeting new people always good, chocolate melting cake always good, showtime always good. 😊
Going on the Firenze Aug. Hope the Italian food is good.
I'll. be on the Pride in September ! I've been on her before .
I'm glad they didn't trash the statue of Tony and have moved him to the Firenze instead. lol
Not anything like my grandmother’s meatballs! Also the I in Italian is the short I sound.
I would probably get the meatball, arancini, wedding soup, and chicken parm.
Tony, talk to us about the watches you wear, I love the colors.
There's a place in Las Vegas called Eat-Aly. Kind of a cute name and I think the pronunciation is spot -on😊.
