    These are so gorgeous! It's been fun to watch several videos of people doing these with different techniques. Yours are by far my favorite, but then again, I've done a lot of pour painting so yours are more attractive to me because you are also a pour painter and know what you're doing! You actually used the simplest approach in pouring on the actual ornaments. Other people moved theirs around too much and got more muddy results, plus they didn't use as nice of paints as yours. Yours are simply gorgeous! And, bonus, I have all the supplies I'd need.
    Oh, ALSO! I Love your idea of how to do cabochons. I've never seen anyone else use that technique! And that you used the leftover paint that had dripped. Very resourceful! :)

    Oh wow ... so very pretty. Thanks for a wonderful video. Wonder if you used a smaller diameter stick if it might have been easier to poor from the top. Sort of seemed like the larger diameter was hard to poor around.

    Just gorgeous!! I use the glass ornaments and put them in the inside with the paint. That is a good way to do it if I have old Christmas 🎄 bulbs that need to be updated!!! I make those pendants that is a great 👍 idea so nothing gets wasted use for the pendents and use to make cards really a great 👍 idea 💡 because everything is being used. I may try making that way and look 👀 for some old bulbs that I can redo. Great way to save money using the Christmas bulbs I already have !!! I may try it out a different way. I may make pendents as well. The cool thing about them is no two are alike

    I love it! I’ve tried some for my pink tree in 2020. Yours are way better! You don’t waste much paint but I’m curious how you dispose of any leftovers or paint water. I’m trying to do better for the environment.

    • @McEArt
      @McEArt  4 роки тому

      Personally I use lots of water and wash it down the sink. Not that great I know. A suggestion I heard was to have a bucket of water and wash in that then pour it out onto the ground to let it dissipate like that. For leftovers if you let them dry and put them in the bin is best so scrape out as much as possible before washing and let it dry.

    • @McEArt
      @McEArt  4 роки тому

      Yes they are! Acrylic paint will only soften if wet so as long as they are dry and had at least 2 weeks hardening time they should be fine but I am not going to guarantee that ;)

    Cool, if you would add a longer string and rod higher you could have done the spin better. Long rubber bands would also work. But turned out nice. I take out the top and put on something like when I do vases, works great.

      Hi Michelle, I use a very cheap house paint (Spring from Bunnings in NZ and Australia) that is a semi gloss acrylic/latex indoor outdoor paint mixed with floetrol and pva glue and water. I do have a paint mixing video if you would like more info.

      Thank you for welcoming me to your play space. I bet, I’m going to have fun there. I have yet to do a pour, however, I am fascinated with the variations achieved by different types of pours. Looks like you have tons of videos, to show me how, when I’m ready. In the meantime, I’ll enjoy watching your videos over time.

      The popsicle stick is being held by a blue soft tact style dough called BLUE TACK. You can get it online or at most large box stores in the Office Supplies Department. It is fantastic stuff leaves no marks but holds well temporarily while You work / craft away!!!

    These are gorgeous, I noticed that the colour didn't cover the bauble on the bottom part where all the white is. Was that meant to happen? Also could you please tell me how much Floetrol and silicone you use? Many thanks. Cheryl from Australia.

      @McEArt  4 роки тому

      Hi Cheryl, thank you. Yes it was intentional :) Recipes vary depending on the paint you use, I use Reeves and find that a 50:50 mix of paint and floetrol plus water works great for me.

    Loved those so much I made a few myself! Do you varnish them afterwards? I have some requests from people who want to buy them, but I feel they should be sealed first before they're sold to protect the paint. If you have any advice about that, it would be much appreciated :) Thanks so much for sharing your beautiful art with us!

    • @McEArt
      @McEArt  4 роки тому +4

      Hi Falia, as I said in the video that these are for my own use so I didn't seal them but I would use a spray varnish if I was going to seal them :)

    • @dogmomma4019

      @@McEArt i use krylon clear gloss to seal mine. I usually wait about an hour before I attempt to seal any of my work. ( ornaments, coffee mugs, 4'x4' ceramic tiles, 12'x12' ceramic display plates and solid white marble white wine chillers. I just started working on canvas prepared w kilz primer. They are tuen out great! Just don't learn the hard work from me, make sure that you so. Allow everything to dry completely before sealing and also, hold the sealant away from the items you want to seal, otherwise you will get these strange little dots. Some say the dots add to the homemade charm but as a perfectionist I don't like those dots and it doesn't happen as long as you do allow the ink to dry properly and you hold the sealant far enough away hopefully that helps happy creating it's such a lovely enjoyable thing
