The way I managed to get out of my filthy home when I was depressed, was to do a little at a time. I didn't always have the energy to wash all the dishes, but the cups and plates were easy so I would put a timer for 10 minutes and only do the easy dishes. At some point, it became easier to also wash the pans, which made it easier to cook for myself more often. Thanks to my therapist and my own blood, sweat and tears, the downward spiral turned into an upward one 😊💛

From how you described the oldest boy asking you a bunch of times if you were okay or needed anything, I get the feeling that he's sort of the caretaker in the family. He must be so happy and surprised to see how organized his space can be. He's probably got a big burden on his shoulders, and I was really pleased to see his reaction, as well as those of his mom and little brother. My heart really goes out to the oldest boy, though; he's got a lot on his plate.

@kastanie7445 We can't even get appointments without paying for them first. And now we have to pay in full for medical treatments. Full is nearly half a million dollars for something as small as a CT scan.
And nurses have the audacity to say they're underpaid when they throw people out after they've paid for needing treatment before they even received anything because they were in pain.
Most nurses today are just the mean girls in high school who enjoy being in charge of someone else's pain.
The US is so messed up. Our American dream is just the ability to live.

I grew up like this. It was so embarrassing. My parents were depressed, divorced (but still lived together), struggled financially, and really needed HELP. I am happy this family got help. No judgement against the mom- I can’t imagine what she goes through.
I hope this can be her fresh start to keep it up. They all deserve a clean environment.
My tip to mom… make sure the house is always safe and functional. It doesn’t have to be sparkling all the time, but clean clothes, dishes, clear walkways, and a clean place to sleep and eat should be daily goals.
Best of luck to you family ❤

@Trea-pl4xr I used to keep a clean home, then one day, I started getting memories back from childhood, DV, SA, and I just broke. Then when I confronted my family about it, they abandoned me. It was so hard to deal with I couldn’t clean anything.
Cat soiled my bed, then my couch cushions, and I slept on a couch in a sleeping bag with no cushions for months. I couldn’t even find the energy to sweep and months. Or even within a year... With therapy I’ve gotten better, but still struggle with total collapse in energy from sudden depressive episodes.
Their mom may be struggling with something like that and never showed the boys how to clean. Plus, he’s probably in his senior year in high school and needs to focus on schoolwork. It’s nice to see the family react to the home though! We rarely get to.

The shower alone makes me sad for those kids. I grew up having to take showers in a shower like that. It has led to severe issues with being able to take baths because I can’t step on the shower floor without thinking my feet are touching grime and mildew. Even if the shower floor is pristine, I have to shower with the lights off so I can’t see the floor. Hair, fuzz, or anything that can get stuck on the shower floor makes it 10x worse and I will straight up not shower for days until I can get the courage up to get in even if it’s not there anymore. I’m the same way about dishes because I grew up with no one cleaning the dishwasher, and they would put “clean” dishes away with food still on them. I would have to hunt for a clean dish or a cup in the cabinets. I can’t use actual cups because of it. I use solo cups or I don’t drink anything that has to be poured. I also can’t put my dishes in cabinets and leave them on a drying rack. I actually have dreams that I’m back in that house looking for a clean dish, or that I’m stuck in a corner of the shower and can’t get out because I’m surrounded by black mold.
I understand PTSD, trauma, and depression is very real and valid reasons for not cleaning. I suffer from PTSD from multiple different traumas and have chronic depression….but kids living like that causes trauma too. It’s not fair to put your kids through that.

Awe. It's always great to see how little children react. Even better when a teenager is blown away. The whole family is amazed and thankful for your kindness by cleaning their home.
The holes in the floor are common in trailers. Mom can hire someone to repair it or throw sheets of wood down. That will fix the problem temporarily. That is her childhood home so I am not surprised at the holes. She can have one hole at a time fixed. Plus Florida has resources available to help single moms. Now that the house is clean, people can come in. She might even qualify for free home repairs.

I got nice couches and he lets the dogs pee on them. He allows them to pee on the porch and everything and I am beyond fed up🤬... He has 2 houses and it's winter almost and I sleep outside in my truck. My poor dogs are all alone and I'm trying my best to get them in a better environment. But its really hard when only half the dogs get along and he thinks my dogs need to be in a cage 24/7 when I rescued 2 of them from cages but because he allows them to pee on everything the 2 males stay in the cages😢. In regards to American stoves, everything comes off. I would spray oven cleaner OR dawn power spray on the drip pans and put them in a ziploc bag overnight. Everything melts off!!! Also, the top usually pops up like the hood of a car on these models. That way, the underneath can be cleaned as well. It helps eliminate odors and grease to also prevent pest issues!

And you always give such uplifting words and advice to all of us. The way that you said in this video just because you're a house is messy does not make you a bad person. In other videos you have said that you struggle with your English but we can understand you clearly. Plus you use big English words so you really do just such an amazing job with your voiceovers. You said that it takes you a long time just to do a 15-minute video but I just want to tell you that we can understand you clearly and I love the stories that you tell about the home or apartment owner and I love the cleaning tips like I said and your words of advice.
