I wasn't sure you were still running the Arc Sarah, it's great that you're coming down for the race 😊 Hope training has gone well and it's awesome that you're getting excited, you'll love it! See you soon 👍
I'm glad you're enjoying the Content on the channel. Hope you feel better soon and you can get back to training! Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment it's appreciated 🙏😊
That's very kind Michael 👍 The Arc is definitely a bucket list race and sure you'd love it, well most of it anyway! 😉 Thanks for watching and supporting the channel its really appreciated 🙏
Thanks Tim, glad you enjoyed the video. The atmosphere is already starting to build here in Cornwall! It's looking like it's going to be some race that's for sure 🏃♂️🏃♀️ Catch up soon and thanks for watching 🙏
In February I run Prague 100. 140km with finish in Prague. It has been postponed from December due Covid. Fingers crossed it will happen. These advices are valid for every winter ultra.👍
I cycled 100 miles once, from London to New Forest and felt pretty beaten up. I've run a few marathons. I cannot begin to imagine how demanding The Arc would be. Good luck everyone that is competing 💪
See you down there mate… I’m doing exactly what you said not to do… will be on the start line undertrained and possibly carry niggles (fingers crossed they don’t pop back up). Regardless I’m looking forwards to some quality time with the SW coast path. Nice vid mate… I’m hyped :D
It is a shame Robert but I have to be sensible for once 👍 We'll definitely see you at the Serpent trail, I'm looking forward to it. Thanks for watching and supporting the channel 🙏
No problem George, I'm glad you enjoyed the video. Best of luck for the 50, youll love it! Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment it's appreciated 🙏😊
That's me at 9:13 lol one of the best days of my life. Two DNF's (including an ambulance at lands end) one finish then Six months of sacrifice and finishing in the light and sub 29 hours :)
Wow, it sounds like you had some Journey getting your hands on that Arc buckle! 👏👏👏 Well done for going back and getting the job done, I bet it made the finish feel even sweeter! Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment it's appreciated 🙏😊
Great tips Loyd. Sorry to hear you may not be there. I've had to pull out of numerous races of the years but I think having to pull out of this year's Arc is perhaps the most disappointing (maybe equal with having to pul out of Challenge Roth one year). I wish everyone the very bust of luck. 👍✌
Thanks Ian, I'm glad you think so. It's definitely a shame but it's also the right thing to do. Going into a race like the Arc, unfit or carrying some niggles is a recipe for disaster! 👍 The race isn't going anywhere mate so hopefully we can both be towing the start line next year 🏃♂️🏃♂️ Thanks for watching and supporting, as always its appreciated 🙏
Some really good tips here Loyd and I would add that its not one for beginners to 100 milers at all. Ive done plenty of ultras and 100 milers now but am yet to finish the Arc and because of where it is geographically its very hard for me to recce and run the trails and coastpath regularly and for me thats the key to success on this one, knowing the course and its pitfalls and never more so than any other course except perhaps the UTMB and the likes. Could I also add that i have had plenty of time in the bag in that first two phases up to Lands End but all goes to waste over the that section from Pendeen to St Ives.
You're right Phil, it's definitely not a 100 miler for first timers. I do spend a lot of time saying that but no one seems to listen to me 😂 I suppose sometimes as runners we have to learn things the hard way. I personally think it's a lot more sensible to put your body and mind through 100 miles for the first time on a less challenging route and maybe not it winter 😊 As you know you learn so much when you complete that kind of distance for the first time and I'm not sure the Arc route is the place to do that. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment it's appreciated 🙏😊
To me, AoA seems like a mad adventure where the weather would be an integral part of it and you could test yourself over a day and a half. I was dot watching the Spine Race last week and those people doing it over 5/6 days. Utter madness.😱
The weather can definitely play a massive factor in the race Ian. The first time I ran the Arc it was bright blue sky's and sunshine! The second time it wasn't as friendly, we had 70mph gusting winds and heavy rain for the whole of the race 🌧️ However the Spine Race is a completely different kind of beast all together, definitely not a race for me! 😲 Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment it's appreciated 🙏
Like you I'm quite familiar with the area, my ultimate aim is to enter this, but I've been told I'll need a teammate who will act as support and be in the right place at the right time, to supply water and other bits. I can manage a marathon, but burned out just short as it seems I go through double the calories most do.
You don't have to have crew, you can run the Arc unsupported Darren. I think it's a much tougher race if you do choose to be unsupported though. I've always had support when I've run it 👍 Are you thinking of entering the 100 or the 50 and have you run anything like this before? 🤔
Thanks and you should definitely enter the race one year 👍 Shoe choice is tough for this race and it really depends on weather conditions on the day. It's also a very varied route so it's good to have several shoes with your crew 😊 Hope this helps and thanks for watching the channel it's really appreciated 🙏
Definitely no sleep! 👍 There's 3 check points on route but that's just to top up your bottles, get some hot food or a quick kit change. Thanks for watching 🙏
wahhhh i am so stoked for this now!!! see you down there loyd!
I wasn't sure you were still running the Arc Sarah, it's great that you're coming down for the race 😊
Hope training has gone well and it's awesome that you're getting excited, you'll love it! See you soon 👍
Really useful video, got the 100 in 6 weeks. Bring it on!
that'd be a lifetime dream to be at the start of this one. surely one of _the_ top 100milers in the old world.
It's an amazing race Ozenfant, definitely one for the bucket list! Thanks for watching and hopefully you make it to the start line in the future 🙏😊
Good luck to anyone entering. Some great tips in here, Loyd.
Thanks Mark I'm glad you think so! Thanks for watching and supporting the channel 🙏😊
Me, sitting here, currently thrown off of training for my first halfmarathon because I got really sick, still enjoying these videos - makes me dream 😂
I'm glad you're enjoying the Content on the channel. Hope you feel better soon and you can get back to training! Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment it's appreciated 🙏😊
Thanks Lloyd, great advice as ever. I’ll be down there supporting 2 great lads, Matt and Stephen. Hopefully I’ll see you out there.

Hope your race happens Thomas and I'm glad our videos are helping! Thanks so much for watching 🙏😊
Tip number 6, enjoy it because one day you'll be to old to do it, see you there buddy 😉
You definitely have to enjoy it Sean, well most of it! 😂
See you there mate 🙏
I cycled 100 miles once, from London to New Forest and felt pretty beaten up. I've run a few marathons. I cannot begin to imagine how demanding The Arc would be. Good luck everyone that is competing 💪
It's definitely a challenging race, especially because it takes place in winter conditions! 🥶
Thanks for watching and the good luck 🙏😊

Definitely mate 👍
I've got my fingers crossed for you that things hold up Dan! Thanks for watching and I'm glad you're excited about the race 🏃♂️
Good luck to everyone lining up on the AoA. Shame you are not going to make it Loyd, hopefully I'll catch you at the Serpent 100k Trail in July.
It is a shame Robert but I have to be sensible for once 👍
We'll definitely see you at the Serpent trail, I'm looking forward to it. Thanks for watching and supporting the channel 🙏
Thanks for the video, I am doing Arc50, can't wait 😀😬

Thanks sorry missed this reply. Will be back again next year but for fun this time :)

After all the years I lived in Cornwall I never ran the Arc's 50/100 adventures.... but hey.... lives not over yet...
They are both fantastic races Stephen, definitely worth thinking about. Thanks for watching 🙏😊

Thanks Roland but I think I need to be sensible this time round 👍
Said it before and I'll say it again, nope. 😂 Great tips for anyone brave enough to toe that start line though. 👏
Never say never Stu! 🤔
You'll run the SWT and the you'll run the Plague and then you'll run....?
It's the natural progression 😉
Great video. Super tempted to do this one day. What shoes would you recommend for it?
Thanks and you should definitely enter the race one year 👍

Hope this helps and thanks for watching the channel it's really appreciated 🙏
When / where do you sleep? Between stages or camp on route, or no sleep if you can?
Definitely no sleep! 👍

👍🏻👍🏻
Someone else is in your account on strava from yesterday,,,,
I know Antonios, someone hacked my account yesterday 😠
I've contacted Strava but I still haven't heard back 🤔
👍
Cheers Neil 👍
