Anyway, this is how I was feeling in the moment I shot this video. Not long after, a help truck did stop behind me along with the owner of the company I drive for. Story goes I was getting ready for a trip and before I even get onto the highway, the MIL and check engine lights come on. Then the stop engine light began to flash so I pulled over immediately and contacted dispatch. I then screwed up by turning onto I-294 instead of where I needed to go and overheated the motor. Eventually after several rolling restarts in neutral, it would no longer start so I stopped on the shoulder and informed dispatch. I then decided to call 911 since being stuck on the side of the highway is considerably dangerous without a police officer's presence. The 911 center that answered my call transferred me to the Illinois State Police. ISP dispatched a help truck who showed up 45 minutes after the 911 call was made. The bus ultimately had to be towed back to our workshop since it once again refused to start when we got it off the highway and into a gas station. The bus has since been fixed and I'm relieved that I didn't just grenade a Cummins B6.7.
If you are ever in this situation, do not be afraid to call 911. Being stuck in a dangerous position is a legitemate emergency and should be treated as such.

Shouldn't this be regularly maintained?
It usually is. I did kinda fuck up by taking a wrong turn onto the highway instead of 43 South. Muscle memory screwed me over there.
