catching up on some older videos (hope you got the cupholders, lol) I always had Paul Harvey on and especially Friday mornings. "Good morning Americans, it's Friday!" what a great american!
Easiest way to get backed in an impossible position is to tell a veteran truck driver, " I don't think you can get it in there, but you can give it a try? " Thumbs up, nice job.
School's in session on this one and thanks for the lesson. That is a nice trailer you have. Very well equipped with what the world has to offer in hydraulics. On both your driveway back ins, I'm so glad that when you drove back out, no one was flying over the hill at you. Looked like a blind area from here. Anyway, for all you've given us this year, we want you to take the next day or so off to enjoy a great meal with your super family; you earned it! Happy Thanksgiving from our house to yours and God bless! Sonny (CT)
Genius idea with the trailer guides. Once in Okinawa I almost slid off sideways with D7 during a rain storm. Yep no traction at all. Track caught up on tie down shackle that saved me.
Having driven a lot of trucks since 1968 I listened to a lot of Paul Harvey storys while hauling equipment. If I may offer a couple of suggestions I was always taught to bring a chain out of the bottom of a stake pocket up behind the rub rail and back into the state pocket so that in the chance of a side swipe incident your hook and chain are given some protection . The other thing I was taught is it if I was far enough away from the truck door that I could not touch it I was too close it. On several occasions that did save me a door .. and a lot of explaining. I have been laughed at for giving these suggestions two new drivers and watched a couple of them pay the price. Just suggestions to you as you seem to be pretty savvy. By the way thank you for the videos I watch them as often as I can and enjoy them.
like them safety rails, I have slipped around on the deck while loading my dozer, appreciate you taking the time to show those, I've also seen someone slipping around on a trailer right after coming off the wet grass.
Paul Harvey was a regular program on the radio when we only had a single AM radio station in town. Great lesson on securing a load. The ratchet binders are way better than bear traps. Certainly would prevent launching a cheater bar over top of the skid steer into the bosses brand new F-350 when you slip. 😬
Dirt Perfect I......um.......saw it too. At least until I lost sight of it going over the skid steer. I would’ve felt real bad if the boss drove a Chevy or GMC. 😉
i drove flatbed for a few years. i was taught you always put one chain and binder for every 10,000 then add 1 extra. i was hauling steel coils from the mills.pretty much what you was saying.love the vids
Imagine tying down a full sized Abrams Tank on a C17!!!!!! The web of chains to secure that thing would make any spider bow in defeat!!!! The math, angles, various sizes and lengths of chains, and order of chains/tie downs placement (don't want any chains interfering with others) is insane! I participated in an exercise and assisted with the installation of chains. If one chain was off, the entire process was a no go and the plane could not fly until it was 100% correct!!!!!!! When load planning the actual weight of the vehicle and center of gravity has to include ALL tie down items and shoring (wood/composite blocks/panels to protect aircraft flooring). That was just for one item! Imagine having to calculate placement, weight, and everything else for multiple items on an aircraft!!!!!! Seeing what Aircraft Load Planners and Aircraft Load Masters have to do made me appreciate them. As a vehicle maintainer, I had it easy!
I've heard "And now you know the rest of the story" and "Good Day" many times. Another radio man of that era always ended with "Pitts Off", Earl Pitts was always fun to listen to as well.
Great video, Thanks for showing us how your ramp works. Maybe some day you can show us how you shift gears in your Mack. Most of us are unfamiliar shifting gears without using the clutch.
Paul Harvey was great! I really like Mike Rowe's podcast, basically following in Paul's footsteps. Sometimes equipment does unload as fast as a snap of the fingers, but that's usually not on purpose! Thanks for the explanation of the trailer too! Great video! Thanks for sharing. Good day! Hope y'all had a good Thanksgiving!
I just watched a Captain kleeman's video last night of him talking about frame lock and the right tail light being out on the puppy dog ( deja vu) I do remember Paul Harvey
Love the track guides’. Unless you have ever loaded or unloaded a track machine on an frosty deck you wouldn’t appreciate these. I have never seen this idea before but think it’s great
I really like the slide rails. I lost my dad when I was 11 because he was unloading a backhoe and it slid off the side on him........I too, remember the rest of the story also.
Thanks again for the video. Always nice to hear the explanation behind the actions. Always in amazement watching anyone back up trucks that big. I guess the real unanswerable question is did you do anything different than you would have if you didn’t know of the captain’s experience. I never really gave much thought to things falling off of trucks other than to worry about the paint or glass on my car, until a close friends sister almost lost her life to a crescent wrench that came off the back of a truck, through her front windshield and hit her in the arm shattering the bone almost beyond repair. Be safe out there, have a great thanksgiving.
Wow jack baker certainly had a lot to say about chaining down equipment, when I worked in the oilfield we chained down like you do, didn’t seem to have any problems, pretty good driving mike nice video
That was Some damn good backing up my friend you can drive a truck good you are just like me tell me it can’t be done but you prove them wrong again good good backing up
That horn button not being square would drive me knuts. It's good that you can deal with it. Loved the track views. And how have I missed the extra counterweight on the 120? It's certainly needed with the super stick.
Well I like checking my fluids.. but awesome Volvo good latches don’t help my matters any. Oh yeah and there is a digical meter on the dash to check oil levels before you start it. I don’t trust anything more than a metal dipstick.
5/16 GR 70 chain has a WLL of 4700 lbs . In that configuration you need to switch to 3/8 GR 43 at minimum with has a WLL of 5400 lbs or better use 3/8 gr 100 still light weight but gives you a 8800 lbs WLL and a huge safety factor.
Great job on the photo views. Wouldn’t a sliding 5th wheel be handy to prevent frame lock? (Although, it would increase your turn radius.) No cameras were buried in the making of this video... for a change!😁
Well done video Mike! That lowboy trailer is a beautiful piece of equipment, your safety bars are genius too. Do you have names for your camera "angels"? They do a fine job of capturing the action in every vid....lol Serious question, Does Indiana not require you to run backup alarms on your heavy equipment, road tractor, and dump truck? I noticed 1 on the Mack, but haven't heard 'em in your videos. Great commentary on load securement, DOT guidelines, and common-sense practices. 5 stars BOSS. Some fine driving of the mighty MACK in those tight spots too! Have a great Thanksgiving with your family, work safe, and stay warm. Doug@ the "ranch"
First issue I seen, mailbox in the way. Second, driveway apron wider from the way you did it. Third, you have to use the curve in the road to your advantage. From the other way the curve in the road made it impossible.
There is actually a UA-cam channel by a farm boy in Wisconsin called the rest of the story in memory of Paul Harvey. I'm old enough that I got to listen to him for a few years before he went off air
Fortunately I just watched Officer HOOVER critique Logger Wade just a couple of days ago and he described the proper tie down method. Wade had 2 chains loose so that was a violation. It seems that you had a proper tie down performed. Don't rub your backing skills into Captain too much, next week you might go in the ditch or something. But you did a great job backing today.
Backing skills I'll give you a 9.5. It would be a 10 however a little excessive steering. Kleenman gets to go back to truck driving school. Lol God bless
Not that it matters on a short haul, but I think grade 70 in 5/16 has a working load of either 4500 or 5400 pounds, can't remember which, sometimes I get dyslexic, but anyway, great video, they just keep getting better and better.
5/16 chain is 5,600# .3/8 is 6,600 you use witch ever is the lighter in weight capacity for the equations. Good job on backing just poor Kleeman has back luck backing I guess. But do it loaded once might change you're mind lol
Captain Kleeman’s video

Absolutely loved Paul Harvey and The Rest of The Story. My mom and I listened to it every morning as she was driving me to junior high school.
Paul Harvey,,, yeppers, got the reference. He had some great stories in his time,,, so God Made a Farmer is my favorite.
Yes remember the one
My favorite is "Fireman"
Surprise surprise.
catching up on some older videos (hope you got the cupholders, lol) I always had Paul Harvey on and especially Friday mornings. "Good morning Americans, it's Friday!" what a great american!
This pipes are cool, Love the sound of that engine.
Love the in cab view from the passenger side
Hell yes I remember Paul Harvey........."GOOD DAY"
Yes 😁

Thanks sonny have a great thanksgiving with your family as well
Nice that you used mounts on the bed of the lowboy to prevent sliding sideways!
Yup better safe the sorry some times
Yesss! I loved listening to Paul Harvey during the work week. Great stories! Todd the retired trucker.
Yes he did have some awesome stories
Totally legal to chain to the track here in Ga.. I chain my 130 the exact same way you chain the 120. .. Thanks for sharing Mike !
Awesome thanks buddy
Genius idea with the trailer guides. Once in Okinawa I almost slid off sideways with D7 during a rain storm. Yep no traction at all. Track caught up on tie down shackle that saved me.
Yes have seen it happen very scary
Glade your truck caught something before you went off 😬
Once again a good honest video, some great camera angles for a different view of things.👍👍👍🇬🇧
Thanks

Thanks Fred agree with the suggestions and appreciate the feedback
like them safety rails, I have slipped around on the deck while loading my dozer, appreciate you taking the time to show those, I've also seen someone slipping around on a trailer right after coming off the wet grass.
Yes they have worked well for me
Paul Harvey was a regular program on the radio when we only had a single AM radio station in town.
Great lesson on securing a load. The ratchet binders are way better than bear traps. Certainly would prevent launching a cheater bar over top of the skid steer into the bosses brand new F-350 when you slip. 😬

I very much remember Paul Harvey. Always a cool show. will keep a eye out for Kleemans video.
Always enjoyed Paul Harvey. Thanks for the video
Thanks for watching Chris
I loved listening to Paul Harvey, and I also love a clean windshield. "Hint, Hint"
lol and sorry got the hint 😁
Great camera shots .... Looking good . Thanks for the ride along .
Thanks for watching
I've heard "And now you know the rest of the story" and "Good Day" many times. Another radio man of that era always ended with "Pitts Off", Earl Pitts was always fun to listen to as well.
Yes remember him as well
That was hella good. And ya I have listened to Paul Harvey with my dad in his 18 Wheeler and at home with family. Thanks so much.
Thanks for watching mike
Drone shot was cool. Have a great Thanksgiving with your family.
Looks like you have a Tail Light/Brake Light out at 7:10. Your back up lights on the tractor appear to be out also. Stay Safe.
10 4. I'm old enough to have listened.
And that is the rest of the story.
Good day.
Great video, Thanks for showing us how your ramp works. Maybe some day you can show us how you shift gears in your Mack. Most of us are unfamiliar shifting gears without using the clutch.
Thanks and another possible video idea 😁
3.59 a gallon 😭😭 that's robbery.
Another excellent video. Thanks so much for sharing this. On a side note, thanks for not running us over like your last video. Ha ha ha
Lol thanks for watching
Paul Harvey was great! I really like Mike Rowe's podcast, basically following in Paul's footsteps. Sometimes equipment does unload as fast as a snap of the fingers, but that's usually not on purpose! Thanks will have to check out Mike s pod cast 😁
I just watched a Captain kleeman's video last night of him talking about frame lock and the right tail light being out on the puppy dog ( deja vu) I do remember Paul Harvey
Ah yes, Friday with Paul Harvey!
Love the track guides’. Unless you have ever loaded or unloaded a track machine on an frosty deck you wouldn’t appreciate these. I have never seen this idea before but think it’s great
Yup saves my ass a few times
I really like the slide rails. I lost my dad when I was 11 because he was unloading a backhoe and it slid off the side on him........I too, remember the rest of the story also.
Man hate to hear that lost my dad in a accident as well 😐
Thanks again for the video. Always nice to hear the explanation behind the actions. Always in amazement watching anyone back up trucks that big. Love the sound of that puppy dog
Thanks
The track shovel saved the day.
Yup
Thanks for the tutorial, and the best thing about it was no mirrors were broken during the making of this film. Lol.
Lol yup thanks for watching
Paul Harvey was great...good day!
Yes he was
Yo - DP. Hey - i sure appreciate your efforts in setting up the neat camera angles. Thanks, andGOOD DAY !!!
Thanks appreciate the feedback
Can you do a little video on your over head lights. Videos are very helpful, thanks.
Yes will try to cover that at some point
Paul Harvey...good day!
With backing this good you should be a loading king
Thanks
Love the Jake Brake 👍🏻
Thanks
Need filming with that drone footage of the reversing manoeuvre 👍🏻

Wow jack baker certainly had a lot to say about chaining down equipment, when I worked in the oilfield we chained down like you do, didn’t seem to have any problems, pretty good driving mike nice video

Great job on expectations of things and laws .. and how to’s
Thanks
Just watched the video 😁😝🤬
Yes, I do remember Paul Harvey, my dad had it on every day of the work week.
Awesome
The beautiful sound of a Jake.
Thanks
@@DirtPerfect I'll TAKE a Jake over a rat trap exhaust anyday. Just something soothing of a Jake brake or exhaust brake from a Dodge.
I am old enough fortunately to know who Paul Harvey is and to have listened to him on the radio.
Awesome good stories he had
Yes he did have awesome stories
That was Some damn good backing up my friend you can drive a truck good you are just like me tell me it can’t be done but you prove them wrong again good good backing up
lol thanks Glenn
Great camera work Mike
Thanks
Paul harvy was the man ,loved the jb weld info he did,,,,America's finest cold weld recomend by me Paul Harvey lol
Yup lot of good stories
That horn button not being square would drive me knuts. It's good that you can deal with it.
Loved the track views.
And how have I missed the extra counterweight on the 120? It's certainly needed with the super stick.
Lol thanks
Finally someone that uses good binders
😁
Man I love your truck .
Thanks
I Loved the track shot Wow!
Thanks ted
Yes got the Paul Harvey mey rip good video Mike
Thanks Richard
Yes...I love the story
Thanks
Great backing job! You didn't get the mailbox
lol nope and thanks
Well I like checking my fluids.. but awesome Volvo good latches don’t help my matters any. Oh yeah and there is a digical meter on the dash to check oil levels before you start it. I don’t trust anything more than a metal dipstick.
The local radio station had Paul Harvey come on at noon and he would say stand by for the news, and my boss would say standing by Paul.
Awesome
Used to love listening to “The rest of the story” I once heard his family was releasing them on podcasts but not sure if it ever happened
That would be awesome if they did
5/16 GR 70 chain has a WLL of 4700 lbs . In that configuration you need to switch to 3/8 GR 43 at minimum with has a WLL of 5400 lbs or better use 3/8 gr 100 still light weight but gives you a 8800 lbs WLL and a huge safety factor.
👍
That one slide guard is stubborn like Kleeman, but when you take a shovel to it, it changes its attitude lol
lol exactly
I have a feeling Team Kleeman is going to call illegal use of sorcery, or at least clever editing.
Great job on the photo views.
Wouldn’t a sliding 5th wheel be handy to prevent frame lock? (Although, it would increase your turn radius.)
No cameras were buried in the making of this video... for a change!😁
Lol have one helps some
We chain our tracked machines the same way. The Commercial Enforcement guys perfect it that way
Yup 👍
Mount a 6 pack cooler where that box is on the dash.
Well done video Mike!
That lowboy trailer is a beautiful piece of equipment, your safety bars are genius too. Do you have names for your camera "angels"? They do a fine job of capturing the action in every vid....lol

Doug@ the "ranch"
I see where Wade's muddy flaps went. Lol
Lol 😆
Love the Jake’s 👍
Thanks
Paul Harvey! 👍
Always nice to see some dryish Mack rear ends
😁
Can you not weld a big plate on the bottom of the trailer or on the frame of the truck frame to stop the frame locking up
Could. But not really that big of issue
another option with the driveway would have been to turnaround and back it in from the other direction?
Guessing you didn’t watch Kleeman s video not a option at all
rey arteb not an option....definitely NOT an option 😂
I've found with day cabs its almost easier to back in blind side instead of driver side.
First issue I seen, mailbox in the way.
Second, driveway apron wider from the way you did it.
Third, you have to use the curve in the road to your advantage.
From the other way the curve in the road made it impossible.
Very much agree on backing from the drivers side!😄 It's much easier.
Thank you for this video sir, it was a little informative 😎
Thanks for watching
There is actually a UA-cam channel by a farm boy in Wisconsin called the rest of the story in memory of Paul Harvey. I'm old enough that I got to listen to him for a few years before he went off air

Wade appreciates the advertising lol
looks like a bad ground with a tail light,,good job getting the trailer in that yard
Yeah, something funky was going on there and my rule on electrical stuff is that when you say, "How the heck can that happen?" it's a bad ground.
Yes seen that and got it fixed thanks
Happy thanksgiving man
Thanks same to you
Love the mud flap@ logger wade
Lol thanks
Understand using family business for over the road fuel, but do you use the same for equipment too?
Depends
👍I remember Paul Harvey!👍
Awesome
When you backed in the second time and the fuel truck was waiting. Do you think he realized he just had a brush with greatness ?
Lol guessing no 😜
Here in Pennsylvania, hooking the binders on the tracks gets you an insecure load fine, per binder at the tune of $750.
Good thing I am in Indiana approved here federal reg does not state you can’t somebody may have feed you a line of crap
I have never had an issue in PA hooking to the track pads or any other state I haul equipment in.
Not to bad!!!
😬😁
Backing skills I'll give you a 9.5. It would be a 10 however a little excessive steering. Kleenman gets to go back to truck driving school. Lol God bless
Don’t kick those tires, you’re gonna find a flat one! lol that was a really fast pretrip!
lol true
I got the Paul Harvey joke. That's is what those things are for. I was wondering

I used to listen to Paul Harvey,, The Son and the bird
Yup awesome stories
SOL that mean “short on luck “ correct. 🤔
Just needs a bigger entrance for such maneuvers.
My girl keeps telling me that !!
Yes I got the Paul Harvey joke!
Awesome
Training video for Kleeman.... LOL!! Just kidding, Captain!!!
😂😂
