My dad passway June 1 2010 .and my stepfather passway in May 31 2008. Last year lost my mom March 1 2019 .now I whole family now only 57 . but see one day in heaven again. Love how said that
I love my grandfather and father. I miss them very much. My grandfather/ father has taught me a lot about life. I just wish they were here today.
The history my grandfather passed on to me, never in a history book.

My Dad passed away March 30th, 2020 at 76 yrs old. He was a good man.
My father and I were bonded. He "bonded" me with the leather of his belt! We was WELL bonded....LOL. I loved my dad and a few years ago he passed...and I still love him. I expect Jesus is gonna be here very soon so I'm really looking forward to seeing my dad again. : )

For 12+ years my wife and I drove 2 hour round trip to work every day from Pungo Creek NC to Greenville NC, and EVERY morning we listened to John Boy and Billy... One morning, on the air, John Boy read a letter he had gotten from you. That letter was one you gave to John Boy; a letter I had written to you! John Boy even mentioned my name... I cannot tell you how proud that made us; to this day it was one of the high points of my life...and YES, you really are the funniest man in America; and also a wonderful person, and a wonderful patriot....

I love this man. When ever I am feeling down I pop in one of his tapes, makes me laugh again. Yes, my dad and I bonded. Mostly with a belt across my butt. He is gone now but I still respect him for what he tried to teach me. Unfortunately he could have done it in different ways. Keep it up James, fan for life.

If a son called up his Daddy to get him out of jail and to retrieve Daddy's car Daddy would probably let his son stay in jail for a while or overnight and let the son think and imagine how mad Daddy would be when he got to the jail. Imagining your punishment is often times as bad or worse than the punishment itself. You feared your Daddy, but he was also the most loving, caring and loyal person in your life and you wanted to grow up to be just like your Daddy.

Integrity . A word not used much anymore. It seems a man's word isn't supposed to be taken for or said as the truth or held accountable as a reliable judge of a person's self respect and honor. Somehow from our grandparents time to present we lost the importance of this trait.

Kids. Now have to many Toys. And no. Responsibilities. You know. Feed chickens. Mow lawn. Work in garden. Take out trash.

I love liatening to James & I understand what he means about the difference in kids behavior from past generation . Yet I have to say physical whipping of an offspring is not right & not needed .I never did with my kids .If kids know you truly love them , your disapointment of bad behavior goes a long way . There are other ways to punish bad behavior . No one of my generation that I grew up with ever did any shootings & we grew up with guns in the home .We never messed with nasty drugs either . Occasional alcohol caused enough trouble.
THAT generation saddled us with social security numbers, driver's licenses, income taxes and a host of OTHER problems
