I actually liked the differences in age. I think this would have been more complete with someone who is in college. You'd have middle school, high school, college, and independent adult. I think it's totally relevant to have someone as young as Reese Hatala. Middle School is where we develop many of our strong beliefs, habits, and personality. It's also during a period where people are going through puberty, experiencing emotional connections with friends and crushes. Pre-teens and teens aren't stupid, they are just young. Many are highly intelligent and can hold their own in a conversation.

In my opinion, “best friend” is a level of friendship that can be achieved. I have three people that I consider my best friends - each meet different needs I have in friendships, and I know that I am safe and can be myself around them.
That's a really good point. One person doesn't usually fulfill everything you're looking for or need socially. That's why we have multiple friends. Even in long term relationships, people have other couples they spend time with or friends they spend time with outside of the relationship. We all need multiple types of social interaction .
About Telling your friends when someone says something sh*tty behind their backs, i absolutly would and i would defend my friend to the bone if that happened. I just recently was hanging out with a few friends and there was this guy whom we are pretty close to but he's not in our closest friend group, if you get what i mean. So we were sitting there and the guy sat next to me. We were just talking and laughing about pictures on our phones when he suddenly turned to me and literally started insulting my friend, saying she looked fat on the pictures and just plainly trying to bad mouth her to me, while she was just sitting a few meters beside us. I think on the friends ex question then it again depends on the breakup. Did they have a nasty heartbreaking breakup? Then he’ll no. Did they realize they were just better as friends or it just didn’t work out and they are completely cool with eachother and still friends? My brother dated one of my friends who goes to my school for about a year. After they broke up, a couple months later she started going out with my brothers BEST FRIEND. And my brother didn't even hear it from them, he found out through someone else. A bunch of my friends defended my other friend who dated my brother, saying that once they broke up it didn't matter if he knew or not.... But if you want to retain any sort of friendship, all parties have to be honest, or else those people are going to completely block you out of their life. Anyway, those two ended up breaking up anyway. I don't really consider myself her friend anymore since she's been involved in some pretty messy relationships. I mean, I don't know why she expected me to be okay with all of that. In the end my brother and his friend eventually made up since they've known each other for so long, but that girl has a lot of drama circulating her name now.

We stopped being best buds and just were civil to each other. They're still together to this day and it pisses me off that she did that to me.
I sabotaged a friend once when she liked this boy but I knew he wasn’t a good person so when he asked me out I was going to say no but she was going to continue to keep liking this disgusting boy so I went out with him but broke it off quickly because I knew she wouldn’t like him anymore if I did go out with him. The first time I moved out I was 19 and moved in to a now ex-friends place, we had only been friends for about 4 years and me moving in with her lasted 2 months. My friend (who I've known for over 14 years) is dating my ex. It's been over 7 years since we dated, I don't have a problem with that but I warned her about him so if she gets hurt that's her own fault.

In my opinion, “best friend” is a level of friendship that can be achieved. I have three people that I consider my best friends - each meet different needs I have in friendships, and I know that I am safe and can be myself around them.
That's a really good point. One person doesn't usually fulfill everything you're looking for or need socially. That's why we have multiple friends. Even in long term relationships, people have other couples they spend time with or friends they spend time with outside of the relationship. We all need multiple types of social interaction .
About Telling your friends when someone says something sh*tty behind their backs, i absolutly would and i would defend my friend to the bone if that happened. I just recently was hanging out with a few friends and there was this guy whom we are pretty close to but he's not in our closest friend group, if you get what i mean.
So we were sitting there and the guy sat next to me. We were just talking and laughing about pictures on our phones when he suddenly turned to me and literally started insulting my friend, saying she looked fat on the pictures and just plainly trying to bad mouth her to me, while she was just sitting a few meters beside us. I got so angry that i started yelling at him. My friends turned around and asked us what was wrong but i just stood up, said i didn't wanna have to sit next to this idiot any longer, grabbed my friend and left with her. I told her what had happened and she thanked me for telling her. That was one of those moments that i realized how sh*tty some people actually can be...
I think on the friends ex question then it again depends on the breakup. Did they have a nasty heartbreaking breakup? Then he’ll no. Did they realize they were just better as friends or it just didn’t work out and they are completely cool with eachother and still friends? I say ask your friend first but I don’t see any real issue with that. Cause like I’m a lesbian and I dated this girl a while back but then he came out as a trans guy and we broke up cause I’m not into dudes. He is literally one of my best friends and we support eachother in new relationships and even try to set eachother up with our friends! And this other guy I dated before I came out. Again one of my best friends to this day. He thinks me and my current partner are adorable and I’m trying to help him find a girl. If any of my friends dated one of these two people I would have absolutely no issues whatsoever and in fact I would be happy for everyone involved. But let’s say that my friend wanted to date an ex that broke my heart, that would be a big no no.

I'm 28 and I don't care if you date my ex or not, been that way since high school. The way I see it, I don't own them and if we broke up then who they date is none of my business. I don't want to stand in the way of love. My friends at the time however disagreed with me completely, it was almost blasphemous that I thought that..."It's against girl code!" Haha. Listen. Anyway, they weren't ever interested in any of my exes anyway at least as far as I know. But if they were, they're free to date whomever they want.

My sister was with an ex of mine, my cousin was with another ex of mine, and my brother became such good friends with another ex of mine that, that ex was a groomsman at my brother's wedding. Who am I to say that someone can't have a relationhip with another human just because I did? Who knows maybe the reason my exes and I met was to bring them together? I think it would be pretty selfish of me to demand that one person forgo something that makes them happy just because I was in the mix for a brief moment in a very long life. Dating a friends ex is completely circumstantial. You don’t own a person after you break up and they aren’t “off limits” as long as you’re honest and open with your friend and explain your feelings there’s nothing wrong with it. My brother dated one of my friends who goes to my school for about a year. After they broke up, a couple months later she started going out with my brothers BEST FRIEND. And my brother didn't even hear it from them, he found out through someone else. A bunch of my friends defended my other friend who dated my brother, saying that once they broke up it didn't matter if he knew or not.... But if you want to retain any sort of friendship, all parties have to be honest, or else those people are going to completely block you out of their life. Anyway, those two ended up breaking up anyway. I don't really consider myself her friend anymore since she's been involved in some pretty messy relationships. I mean, I don't know why she expected me to be okay with all of that. In the end my brother and his friend eventually made up since they've known each other for so long, but that girl has a lot of drama circulating her name now.

I had a boyfriend a while back and we broke up because he was trying to pressure me into stuff he knew I wasnt okay with. My then best friend decided literally that next couple months to go ahead and date him. I wasnt okay with it. She didn't care about my feelings. We stopped being best buds and just were civil to each other. They're still together to this day and it pisses me off that she did that to me.
I sabotaged a friend once when she liked this boy but I knew he wasn’t a good person so when he asked me out I was going to say no but she was going to continue to keep liking this disgusting boy so I went out with him but broke it off quickly because I knew she wouldn’t like him anymore if I did go out with him. I still feel bad to this day and I guess this is my way of venting.

The first time I moved out I was 19 and moved in to a now ex-friends place, we had only been friends for about 4 years and me moving in with her lasted 2 months. So that didn't end well but even though we don't talk at all now I still wish her nothing but the best because i'm not as petty as I used to be. and 3 years ago (now almost 25 for reference) I lived with my best primary school friend which was awesome and then I moved in with a close high school friend both for a year each, the high school friend. her and I had one argument but we managed to sort it and still really great friends today and I am now living by myself for almost 3 years and I love it even more :)
