Most of the video was shot in my hometown Chengdu. Yes, many of them are influencers rather than random people, but there is a vibrant fashion scene as younger people are really willing to push the limit. As a Chinese living in the US, it has been a difficult time. I never think politics influences me too much, but it’s not joyful seeing so much negative energy towards Chinese and Chinese culture. So, I really appreciate this reaction video, which makes today less toxic for me. Hope you’ll have a chance to visit China one day. It’s a fun place with a lot of things happening.
Most rational people don't dislike China, the Chinese people or Chinese culture, the dislike is more towards the politics and the communist party. But of course, not everyone is rational unfortunately. China's history and culture are very fascinating, I would love to visit some day! Hope we see better days soon!

After living in both China and the US, I find the coverage of China in western media is often full of bias and double standard due to its own political agenda, which is sad. Hope you will visit. @Slakers That is only the good side. On the other side the government is increasingly hostile. It's has systematically eradicated ethnic minorities in the western china. It has annexed Tibet and continues to threaten countries in South China sea as well as India. It surveys every move of every individual and takes action if anyone crosses it. Money and technology are not everything. There's a reason China always comes under fire for human rights violations. Had I said any of this from within China, I'd be locked up or worse.
@Slakers Nobody claimed the US was the pinnacle of human civilisation. And I never said India was doing well either (besides, I live in Sweden). And sure, I will give you the fact that western media is biased against China, but there is some truth to it all. China has more mosques because it is in Asia and has historically had a much greater connect with the Muslim world, the US didn't until fairly recently. And Tibet certainly never was ethnically Chinese, it's a strategically important region for China. And same with South China sea. I'm not saying it's any worse than the US, I'm saying its most definitely not a friendly government.

Yeah I agree! The international kids from China at my Uni dress like this, or they dress very well. I visited China once a few years ago and I noticed the is as well. Except it’s usually in the large cities like Beijing. In more rural areas I notice they don’t dress this way. I guess it’s the same with anywhere in the world really LOL. In the US I notice in cities like LA or New York they dress interestingly too whereas in smaller rural areas they dress more casual.

When I was living in Beijing, there is an area called Sanlitun, stuff like this was normal, alot people with big cameras camp there taking street snaps.

I’m from Chengdu. If you come to Taikoo Li in Chengdu, it’s a very common thing. Young people and passersby wear very fashionable clothes. Then there are luxury goods and luxury cars everywhere. (There are still many photographers taking pictures over there, you can feel the feeling of being a big star )😂

It hugely depends on which part of China it is in. If it’s more of the city side you would see a lot of young adults wearing diff styles from cutesy to just cool. Theres this local shopping centre which I go to. This was a few years ago now but there was a group of Asian Men I’d say ages 17-25 but anyway I only saw them on two occasions and never saw them again, and their style was similar to ones shown here. Just so unique and out there, ever since then I’ve been inloveee with their fashion.

Theres this local shopping centre which I go to. This was a few years ago now but there was a group of Asian Men I’d say ages 17-25 but anyway I only saw them on two occasions and never saw them again, and their style was similar to ones shown here. Just so unique and out there, ever since then I’ve been inloveee with their fashion.
They just dress good. They're probably.local to the area and people who dress consistently good get featured again. And those accounts all stole from an original series of videos so of course they're almost all the same.
