This music and dance is probably over 2000 years old. As Balkans we can all keep our own language and traditions. What's important is where we come together in food, drink, music and dance. And that's all that really matters. I hope we can overcome.
First time seeing this as a German and I can feel the positive energy, insane. I was clapping along because it just sparks joy. Very interesting culture. I need to get to know you more.
Хей, момчета, живи и здрави да сте, напълнихте ми душата с радост и гордост, а очите - със сълзи! Да живее нашата България и особено традициите на Северозапада! Много щастие на новото семейство, Господ да ги пази!
Am I right in assuming Bulgarians learn these dances as children? Please forgive me if I come across as ignorant, I'm English so I dont know much about the culture but I love the music
Yes, when they are in kinder garden or first grade they have been sign up by their parents in folklore dance clubs and they play and learn there if they like it and want it.
Yes, it is a good exercise, fun and friendship. They sign as children and some continue as adults. They also participate in many festivals and competitions. They travel abroad and stay close all their lives.
Nope, these guys are just proffessional dancers ;). Basically, non professionals can not dance like that in Bulgaria. At 90% of the weddings, the normal people can dance couple of simple dances and that is it. The boys here clearly know what they are doing and it is nice when you have such friends at your wedding, but it is not a common thing.
@@genadidimov5206 Speak of yourself. No one can help you if you are a couch potato. Those are clearly NOT professionals but amateurs doing it as a hobby. Many Bulgarians are part of folk clubs. Personally I first learned my first dances at home or at weddings with grandma then with my friends who were part of a folk dancing ensemble, so yes on my own. We also learn folk dancing as part of the PE curriculum. Of course, these days there are many couch potatoes in Bulgarian schools, so they cannot move their feet.
Wasn't this wedding in Serbia featuring a Bulgarian dance? There is a another identical video, and it says that the wedding is in Serbia. Pozdrav. Super kolo.
+Цар Самуил That is very, very subjective considering that Serbians (people from Serbia, including Serbs) have a large variety of dances, just like their neighbors Bulgarians and Greeks. Nevertheless, the dance in the video is fantastic. Someone was mentioning that the dancers are ethnic Bulgarians, but that the wedding took place in Serbia. Rakija brate, samo rakija.
@@gensunasumus101 not really. Plenty of Serbs like to claim thar things Bulgarian are Serbian...from our dances to our foid and are territory.I have even seen claims that Sofia is a Serbian city.
They don't just casually know the dance. They are a trained ensemble of dancers that you can see several videos of who are all friends and go to each others weddings. This particular dance is one of the most difficult Bulgarian dances not to mention the fastest. My mom was a professional folklore dancer and on several competitions throughout Europe they forbade them to dance this because it was too fast and it was not fair to others. I myself was in Bulgarian Folklore Dance class for several years and not even the most advanced students were expected to dance at this level. Most Bulgarians know how to dance some of the more simple dances like Pravo Horo, Ruchenitza, Djangurica and Dunavsko Horo. This particular dance takes a long time and loads of practice to perform like that. These guys are pros and they are awesome at what they do but anybody who says that they know this dance since a child and it comes from inside i dare them to shoot a video of themselves dancing like that and post it
ArseneLupinX they forbade them because it wouldn't be fair to the others? well that just speaks for itself 😁 i loved dancing when i still lived in bulgaria, it was my passion, but then i moved to england and stopped dancing, ive been here for 5 years and dancing is the one thing i miss most about bulgaria! so much effort and its a skill for a lifetime full of weddings😂
Категорически непрофесиональные. Видно что аматеры. В Болгарии есть много клубов непрофесиональных на очень хорошем уровне. У професионалов манера другая. Они ошибок почти не делают!
Please can someone explain how they all knew the dance? Is this something they would have prepared especially for this occasion? Or is it just something they would have know growing up and dancing in these sorts of environments?
If you would visit this nordwest region of Bulgaria, you would enjoy these dances you would see every week-end in restaurants. Thus, you would understand that the dance is in the soul and the heart of every Bulgarian....
Yes, all Bulgarians are taught traditional folklore dancing from a young age. Some become professional dancers others can still dance all dances without professional training.
When there is a wedding in amy other country, a bunch of guys get drunk and thats it. When there is a balkan wedding, the men, women, children, elders and cops that came to arrest you for giving alcohol to children get drunk.
Why, just because they do not look like Penguins in the same suits. What is the fun by dressing the same and looking boring, it is a wedding not a funeral. That is just snobbery.
@@genadidimov5206 its because ye couldn't be bothered and are not bought up with the same manners as the west also you dont know what and how people dress at a wedding if you think all the men only wear black suits. Its a very important day in a couples life, its called respect.
