Happy New Year Miss! My parents used to make things like this....Haloumi muffins, cheddar cheese mint and sultana/raisin muffins or black olive and onion muffins. I memorized the recipe when I left home lol still remember it. 3 cups flour, 3 eggs, 1 cup milk, half cup oil, baking powder. Sprinkle sesame seeds on top. I am actually eating plain cheddar cheese muffins I just warmed up in the oven right now! Be interesting to see your recipe now *nom nom* :)
Oh how interesting! Your parents fed you well 💕 those flavour combinations sound amazing! Enjoy your muffins, heated up sounds amazing! I hope your doing well during this lockdown 😊
@@misselz2272 They were really nice thank you ....even if I do say so myself as the cook :-) Ratios look pretty much the same on yours and I also coat the grated cheese in the flour first. If you try the haloumi ones it's good to chop half the pack of cheese up into half inch cubes and grill them until golden and grate the rest with half a small block of cheddar as the 'fresh' haloumi is not as strong in flavour as the "dried" stuff my aunties/grannies used to make . Got used to it now lol it's been lockdown for yonks for me, haven't visited/been visited by my family for months now. Happy New Year tho Miss, hopefully by Summer things will be back to normal when we've had our jabs....perhaps then I can call in a plumber to fix a leaking hidden heating pipe somewhere in the house :)
@@madcommodore yes happy new year to you! I know this lockdown is a bore but is needed. I’m still working and keeping busy which is good. Filming videos for my students (separately to these)! Love the sound of the halloumi ones and great idea to cook some first as I think it enhances the flavour and would add a different texture to the muffins. Tbh I love halloumi on its own and could eat a whole block if I wanted to be unhealthy lol. Oh wow a leak 😩 hope your kitchen is coming along as I remember you saying it needs to be finished!
@@misselz2272 For me the lockdown is not the issue, it's the lethality of it to me due to a health condition. Still I finally caved in and we shall see what all the ordering online from supermarket hubbub is all about later today with my first delivery tonight lol. Luckily going to the pet superstore to stock up on supplies for my horde of cats is not that risky if you keep your wits about you. Can't see any leaky pipes anywhere so it's a bit worrying....just have to keep an eye out on the ceilings in every downstairs room! Kitchen is still in pieces because my Dad managed to break his arm over Xmas so I need to wait until I am vaccinated (summer at this rate!) to get someone in to physically swap over the huge worktop section where the sink will go because it's too heavy for 1 person to do that. Still, I make the most fantastic dinners on a 40x20cm chopping board area to work on all things considered :) Made some yeast-free pizza dough the other day and that turned out as good as my fav' Goodfella's pizza I used to get from the supermarket.
@@madcommodore ahh yes it is a scary time and it is a worry gaping out and getting ingredients or getting someone in to sort out your kitchen! Sorry to hear about your dad and hope it heals well! Kitchen on pause for now but sounds like you got it all under control and at least have some area to do your cooking! Yes you must stock up on cat food 😸 they will be happy! My parents have two cats and they are like having two young kids in the house they keep fighting each other (out of boredom I think) and the. Find them curled up on a chair together 😹 Great to hear about the no yeast dough 👍 take care and hope you get all the foods you wanted with your food delivery and haven’t been replaced by something peculiar (like a lot of my aunties foods were!)
