This was the most visually stimulating (and accurate) video I've ever seen of traffic in African cities. You caught more of the city's culture and life than any other documentary I've seen.
Wow, just amazing. Now I understand what you meant by the traffic. Your friend did a very good job. Please keep up with the wonderful videos. Keep safe.
I'd say close to 90% of all those cars were Mercedes, not surprised considering those vehicles run forever. Would probably be an ideal overlanding vehicle when travelling Africa, except the Jeep of course! ;)
About 4 minutes into the video there is a parking lot between both sides of the road. There are a ton of cars with car covers on, any idea why? Is it to protect them from the dust and sun? Do folks drive into work and put the covers on, or is that a residential area?
no, he wasn't up to anything, he just said hello to him, that is the culture in Mali.i am not there but i can tell, people are very nice in Mali, very friendly,

I love how the camera follows the Land Cruiser on the bridge at 2:53. :)
Interesting vid. I was in Mali 40 years ago....its hardly changed at all!!
I enjoyed this. Great to see how it is in other countries without all the "fluff"...
Very
C'est mon pays, et merci pour le partage

Good eyes. Yep, Merc sedans are everywhere in this part of West Africa, though the 4x4 G-Wagen is extremely rare.
Same in Gambia.

Very nice Bamako mali
Ah ma ville natale tu me manques énormément 🇲🇱
Almost every Mercedes crossing the bridge, and some elsewhere, are yellow 190s: taxis?
Yep
Taxis in Bamako are 190s mercedes
What languages did you learn/know enough to get by on before going to Africa? I'd assume French and maybe Arabic, but anything else?
I'll do a video about languages soon!
Very interesting! Would love to see more!
1:11 Orange!
Why so many Mercedes 190E's? Do they still make them in Africa?
They've all been imported from Europe because they're indestructible.

Huh. I never noticed that. I honestly don't know, but I suspect it's for the dust, which is severe!
In hindsight, are you able to recall whether or not car covers where common throughout Africa?
From memory, I would say no... but remember you're talking about 54 separate countries and well over a billion people!
The Road Chose Me, only a billion? India with its 28 states has the whole continent of Africa beat 🤪. It is fitting that is was continent wide.
I thought you were about to get mugged@ 4:30. That guy looked like he was up to something.

he could probably do better than robbing people on the middle of the street broad daylight
He just looked like he was trying to figure out what the go pro was, then waved when he realized it was filming.
Love this!
Amazing!!!
Amazing!
Can you Do ......drive around Banjul (central African republic)
Nice city but you have to understand either French or Bambara to find your way out. Bambara is spoken all over
Maybe it can be better without your music, but I liked it by the way
Super
