This is one of the best explanations of the Calendar issue that I have every seen. It is not at all polemical against the New Calendar, but makes a very good case as to why the Orthodox Church needs to follow the same ecclesiastical calendar that it has been using all along. As a member of a New Calendar jurisdiction, I totally agree. These holy words of St. Papa Nicholas Planas of Athens (+1930) describe how I fee:
"By obedience, the New; by conviction, the Old."

Over an hour on this subject, it's very simple. A calendar is just a measurement of "time" and has no Orthodox theological significance. At one time, the world followed the "old calendar," but it was inaccurate. Today, the "new calendar" is far more accurate. Without having any THEOLOGICAL impact, there is no reason to not to follow the new calendar. Keeping an archaic calendar is silly. Pascha needs to be a fixed date; closest Sunday to April 14th for all Christians. "Ecumenism" is also silly.
