    Hard work (and the knowledge of how to use that hard work, the connections to use that hard work, and the money to use that hard work, all of which is 98% from circumstances one is born into)

    Hard work tends to pay off more when you're working hard on something that can directly benefit you.

    I feel like there should be a distinction between work as in means of making money and work as in working on yourself and self-improvement. Fitness is obviously the best example of this. Working hard (going to the gym very regularly without distraction, making sure you got the right diet, etc) WILL ALWAYS pay off in that regard.
    It’s an important distinction because no one should stop self-improving

    i really liked this video & i can relate :/ i'm a harvard student rn and the culture around academics & overworking yourself is so toxic especially bc everyone here cured cancer or something in high school and wants to be president or whatever. i just wanna relax and make art and stuff! is that too much to ask!

    • @introvertedmadness
      @introvertedmadness  2 роки тому +19

      ayy glad you can relate! same thing over here, im always seeing everyone talking about how their lives are perfect and exactly on track on social media and im like dang im falling behind and not doing working hard enough. but it is toxic as heck and not indicative of reality yo. def make that art, one regret i have is not starting this youtube channel sooner and doing more creative stuff in college. but even in the artistic pursuits, relaxing is also hella important, like im trying not to stress too much about getting subscribers lol. anyway that was a big ass rant but i hope your journey goes well friend! thanks for watching and have a fantastic night :)

    The ironic thing is according to "efficiency theory".. is less work pays off.
    Only fools run themselves into the ground to make someone else rich.

    OMG I was literally just talking to my sister about this topic. I'm so glad you made a video about it and shared with us your thought on the toxic work-hard culture in the US. I'd love to see more videos like these in the future. Since I am a junior in hs, I'd like it if you could do some Stanford-related vids or college apps-related ones. (tips and stuff) I hope you have a terrific day today!!

      frick YEAH glad to see the vid topic is relevant. junior year of high school was kinda one of the years I worked the hardest in life lmao, but honestly looking back, i wish i would’ve chilled and enjoyed life a bit more. the toxic work hard culture seems to permeate everywhere in america unfortunately.
      looks like from the poll on my channel ill be doin a parties @ stanford vid (lmfao) this week but i shall also for sure do some college app related ones (eventually lol). thanks for watching homie and hope u ALSO have a terrific day :)

    Really appreciated this talk. Background music was soothing too haha. I agree with the whole luck idea. And I would like to think nowadays most people realize how important luck is in success

    Work = Force x Displacement. It doesn't matter how hard you push if you make no progress.

    can you speak about how hard it is to not only work hard but staying inform and knowledgeable so that even if you don't work , you still need to keep knowing new stuff , especially in the field of cyber security where you really cant do anything except studying at home and go to work , there is no life balance in these kind of field as well

    Hey I'm really struggling with getting rejected from Stanford. Can you make a video about whether your Stanford experience significantly shaped who you are?

    • @introvertedmadness
      @introvertedmadness  2 роки тому +27

      ay for sure i can make a vid on that topic. sorry to hear you didn’t get in, but as i literally said to someone irl yesterday, don’t worry, stanford isn’t even that good and you’re not missing out on much lol. it shaped who i am for sure, but im not entirely sure in positive ways? no matter where you go to college you’ll grow and learn and develop into the person you’re meant to me, so don’t stress it too much. have fun and enjoy becoming who you’re supposed to be :) Dm me if anything and good luck! you got this

    Also idk if you want to talk about this or not but if you could talk about the differences in living on the west coast vs East and what you prefer and why that would be interesting to see

    • @introvertedmadness
      @introvertedmadness  2 роки тому +5

      hell yeah!! i was gonna make a video describing the good and bad of living in the Bay Area, and comparing it to New York/the east coast is a really good idea that I didn’t think of. thanks for the suggestion, big appreciate it!!!
