This offseason feels good. Sure we improvements we need to make on the player front BUT the coaching situation feels good (with the info we have as of now). DA running his solid good defense and an actual OC that can run the offense. If Clint is even have decent this year I'm happy. In reality its going to take more than 1 year to really mesh.
Finally an optimistic offseason for once

This is where carr earns his bucks. A transition to a new offense but now he has the bugs with his recievers worked out. And a whole off-season. A couple of passes to olave last year were a little off. Couple of long tds, just one of the few gms I watched. But carr was on them dudes @$$. As long as they have the rout tree down they should be swell
I look forward to seeing how Klint throw his own style into the mix and if he can distinguish himself from the others who run similar offenses.⚜️💯

If Carr plays like he did the last 4 weeks, then you add on Kamara, Hill, Olave, Shaheed, Perry, Means, Johnson, maybe Holker? Even if we don’t make the playoffs, I’m very excited to see what Kubiak does with our weapons
He has a plan for the Saints offense which is great news, when I actually look at the Saints roster top to bottom has as much talent as anyone. Fix the offensive line and watch how their skill players excel.

Honestly, this was probably filmed the same day as the interview on the radio station lmao... pretty sure he had an assigned media day and dressed for it :P
I was a Saints fan way back. Pat Swelling and Iron head days. So when they are on tv I watch. I watched the Rams game and saw Carr go toe to toe with Stafford and was really impressed. And who was this shaheed guy. Then I saw the last two games, crushing the falcons and go in to Tampa and beat them again impressed by Carr. So I looked into his numbers for the season 3800 yard 25 touchdowns with a 3-1 touchdown interception rate. All with Thomas not showing up. If the line can protect Carr he is a top 7 quarterback.
Told myself to not get excited about this team during the offseason, but man I can’t wait…

You can really be a visionary if you say Carr will flourish under this new system. He basically carried the Saints offense and probably did most of the coaching because PC had no clue. Just think of what he can do in his second year with these receivers and a real OC.
And why when you list the Saints offensive weapons you never mention Carr? That’s the second time I heard you do that. Maybe you don’t realize it? Maybe it’s your subconscious doing that so you won’t upset the silly Carr hating fans?
Offensive weapons and playmakers are mostly skill position players. That’s why I list Olave and Kamara. Same when I compare with the Falcons, the playmakers I use as examples are Bijan and Drake London.
I stay where I’ve been with Carr. I think he’s somewhere between the 8th and 12th best QB in the NFL. That’s good enough to win.
@@JamesSkrmetta Fair enough. But I say he’s better than that. If given what every other “elite” QB has like at least a decent offensive line, good OC and good skilled players, Carr can be elite too. Carr has given receivers like Zay Jones career years. Just think what he can do in this second year with these receivers and a decent OL.
Just look at what Carr accomplished working for the dumpster fire Raider organization. He’s never had stability. In 2016, he has a MVP type season before breaking his leg, then in the offseason they fire his OC and the next year his coach. Then Gruden comes in with a complete rebuild. His #1 receiver in 2018 was the almost 40 year old Jordy Nelson. The defense was bad in 2019 and historically bad in 2020. In 2021, after 5 games they were a top 3 offense. Then Ruggs and Gruden happened. But he still rallied the team to win the last 4 games and make the playoffs. McDaniels was a disaster, and the first year of the Saints was basically a disaster with the worst OC and worst offensive line for the first 6 weeks in NFL history.
And through it all Carr is still the consummate pro and still slinging it with the most comeback victories and best record in OT.
Just think what he can do this year now that he finally may have some stability and a team that comes close to matching his talent. A real visionary would be able to see that.

Mahomes, Burrow, Lamar, Allen, Stroud, is kinda wild. That’s not being a visionary, that’s being delusional.
@@JamesSkrmetta I agree that you can win with a good QB. The fact that Marino has no SB’s and others do proves that. And I’ve said that in the past that all you need is a good QB and stable team to win.
But let’s look at the QB’s you mentioned. Stroud? What has he done? Why are we so quick to crown the next “great” QB? Let’s see what he does in his second year of starting when defenses have some film on him and know his tendencies. That second year of starting didn’t work too well for Hurts, who people were saying was the next “great” QB. Allen has the closest arm talent to Carr but he is an interception machine. Burrow struggled this year even before his injury. Mahomes struggled at times this year also. There is no perfect QB. They all mess up and make mistakes at times.
But when Carr messes up it seems to be magnified by the simple minded fans. Saying Carr is trash or even mid like some do proves they know little about football.
What has Carr done that makes you so adamant about defending him??

Like you James, Klint is a young man and was only 17/18 years old in 2006 when Brees and Payton came to Nola. That said, he’s a bright young mind and I expect our players to thrive in his offense.

i dont know james, i hope klint can get er done and probably couldnt do any worst that pete car but i see his sort of an introvert. i was hoping for a hoorah type of guy but right now, im sort of excited and sort of reserved on this season. we need a new qb and i hope klint could make that move if carr is not pulling his weight.

I think we're good. Carmichael was with out a doubt the weakest link on the team. Is there a way to get stats on his play calling in games?
We had a few videos with analytics on his play calling this year. He was routinely ranked last in the league.

i think the saints offense is going to be better. but i just still dont see the saints offense being a wrecking ball in the NFC. its kubiaks first year and derek carr is just derek carr. if i had to bet its going to be better than last year, but not leaps and bounds better.
