Awesome build. Looks amazing. i do believe you have your Ignition switch set up backward. The safety cover should be down when it's in the off position. It prevents the switch from being activated accidently. Not a big deal. Just my observation. Good job none the less.
Thank you for your comment and suggestions :) If you like it you can check how it looks with fan and bias encoder. All in all I changed this yellow beauty to raw 991.1 version and I think it was good move.

Additional i use a fanatec sq1.5 shifter. i like my meta quest 2 vr headset or my fullHD Monitor , running at a 12400f with a 3060ti on the highest resulution with only 16gb ram ddr4. so, i am pretty happy right now, but this diy button box will be adding much more opportunities in either way. have a great day and feel free to leave a comment with tips and tricks.
Once I agreed to build one piece for someone, but finally this person left me with the box 😅 Currently, I produce only for my own needs and sometimes I get rid of what I have left over.

@@MR.EVERLOST shouldn't be hard then, just route the +12V form the power unit powering the wind sim to this switch. that's how i did it 😊 On mine it's GX16 female for USB GX16-male for SQ Shifter 2 din for wind sim
@@gdarazi I also believe it will be easy. Using the poka-yoke ideology, I used a 3-pin connector instead of another 2-pin one. Now no one will get confused when connecting :)

Last connection (one wire) for start engine button needs to be soldered to Main switch pins (two position on/off switch). It means if you set switch to „off” position you break connection to start engine button and you can’t use it. Matrix layout in the video as I remember is correct so this layout should be all what you need :) Please share your results when its done 👍💪

@@davchartof3450 I've never used backlit buttons so I don't know how to help you 😩 But for Ign you can do it like I described for Main switch. You can use switch to connect or disconnect comunication to start button
This model is no longer available as it has been replaced by the V3 version - link in the video description. Unfortunately, the V3 version will not be available in digital distribution. It is not 3x4 pin out. It is 1x4pin usb, 1x2pin external start engine button, 1x3pin for external fan connector. For fan I should use 2pin out but I picked 3pin because of poka yoke. In my last box I used 5pin for external Bias encoder and start engine button 4pin for usb and 2pin for external fan.

I certainly don't have this model anymore. The newer model that I have created will probably be produced and sold as a complete box or parts for self-assembly. I just don't know when I will find the time for it. I am a simple hobbyist :) About 3D files… for some reasons I made a decision to not share them. I'm just having a bad experience.

I am using Ender 5 plus. Stickers I also made myself. If you watch carefully you can see that its two layers, first 2d carbon texture with yellow markings and second layer with 3D transparent carbon vinyl 🙃 In my latest boxes I used only Black carbon vinyl wrap but as I noticed people like more this yellow version.
I never try connect this bbox to console but Im pretty sure it is not compatibile with Xbox. Maybe with drive hub you can use more hardware but you need to read about it. Consoles are very restricted devices 😞.

The layer with a carbon texture and markings was designed by me and printed on a special sticker. A transparent vinyl with a carbon pattern has been glued to this print - watch it again, you will see it for sure.

Hey, what a great built and great video. I'd just like to learn that you used both momentary switches and toggle switches, is it necessary to make a change on the software to use toggle switches ? I'm wondering this because I'd like to build a button box which contains toggle switches with led.
If you will use same arduino board and sketch you don’t need to change anything. In this video you can find matrix connection table. For momentary switches you need to solder center pin with value from column, and outside pins to values from two different rows. Probably it should works well with matrix pcbs from bodnar. In my boxes I can allways unplug board and replace it by something „more proffesional” but in this case arduino is all I need :)

@@GevezeMotorcu if you want to use on/off switch as momentary you need to try use it as encoder (but I never checked this method). For example in my bbox ignition switch after turn on is pressed utill I turn it off.

The third connector is for the airflow system. The idea is that the "fan" switch should run the fans, but I'm just starting this project.

This is PC version recognized as joystick controller. Xbox or PS4 has very bad support for simracing hardware.

very nice but the sounds of you making it would've been better than the music. not that the music was wrong, it's that it was pretty tiresome, heavy
