I don’t know why it should amaze me at how much thought you put into every step of each project. Given the unusual situation we’re in right now with supply shortages and high prices, you don’t comprise on style, quality and getting what you envision done and done well. I think this house will be your most epic of all your homes I’ve watched you guys transforms.

The unique thing about u guys is u can start with a plan then change gears as necessary and still come out with the finish product u wanted. The steps r great and unique. And I just want to say the music in the last few videos u have played some of my favorite arias and movements. I had to fight the urge to stand up and conduct the orchestra so I could watch the video. Keep sticking to “originality you”.

It took me 4 years to get my husband to build me a back porch on our mobile home (and another 2 months before he put the roof on it). It’s only an 8 x 8, but I’m very pleased with it. ☺️

In my experience the key to getting rock solid posts is to lock it in on two axis with joists or framing members. For example, some 2x6s going perpendicular (left to right as you face them) to your stringer to secure the post on another face. I did this two weeks ago on some steps at my brother's place and it made them rock solid all around. His steps were similar to yours -- attached to the home, and resting on a concrete pad.

Nice job! I like how the posts come up through the steps. I agree with you on the gaps. I built my first deck here on the house 40 years ago and did a gap. A year later when the wood completely dried the gaps were way too big. I think one really needs to look at how wet their decking wood is and make a judgement call. No hard fast rule works for every situation

stairs look awsome, pocket holes were a good idea, water like to sit in the screw holes and causes premature rot. I always skirt the stringers so you can't see the step cuts from sides. think it gives it a cleaner look. but look great.

I am really looking forward to your next video because I really love seeing all the things you are doing on this home of yours, things are really coming together and I am so happy for all of you. An interesting part of your project, with a few careful twists to make it a personal achievement project. It looks good and should do everything that all of you want it to do. The problem with a project like this is however much you try to do, at each step you can stand back and think, 'What if I added this or changed that?', you have to be strong and decide when enough is enough. That said, I like the result of the thought and effort you have put into this mini-project.

Again, you did a beautiful job! Everything you do, no matter how functional it is becomes a work of art. A job that any carpenter would be proud of. I am so glad that you are going to put hand rails on it. Recently it has been the fashion to not do so. I have been concerned, partly because of my age and difficulty in climbing stairs, and partly due to the possibility of accidents happening. I am looking forward to the rest of the porch being done. I am sure it will be first class. I also appreciate the gaps in the porch floor that you pointed out. With all the rain you get they are important to let the water drain away and minimize rotting. (Loved the music.) Have a great day. Love ya
