I Get it saving can be tough but if you can manage to save whatever you can whether it $5 $10 whatever per month that builds up to help in a emergency not sure why he said to save it but save what you can if you can for help when you need it
@@RWayneCumberland I think we should all be cutting to the bone right now unless we are well off and don't care how we waste our money. But when we are just scraping the guardrail every week/month or even flying through it, putting away a few dollars each month barely competes with the prices of a real emergency. Have we priced the cost of a rebuilt transmission/install? An emergency trip to the vet and maybe surgery? How about a blown central h/a conditioner system, or too many holes in the roof to patch any more? Our little savings of $100 or $200 isn't a sneeze worth when the you-know-what hits us broadside. Saving every dime can help keep us mindful of not spending, but it doesn't buy too much any more in a real emergency.

I actually paid for commentary because I needed to detox from CNBC pumping, but it's on the same lines as I knew wars were coming over 2 years before they happened because I watched JoB's whole campaign and saw how weak he was, knew bad actors were going to take advantage, and while I knew it would happen, it took way longer then expected

I got out 60% but I’m slowly buying back in based on risk metric. Not going to sit on the sidelines. Small purchases as risk is high, larger purchases as it decreases.

Do not underestimate the carry trade with Japan !! Imagine the trillions of dollars of borrowing by hedge funds that then bought US stocks that have now dropped in price by 5 to 15 % at a time that Japanese interest rates have gone up with an increasingly stronger Yen !! It mean hundreds of billions of dollars in losses !! 😮

Panic selling works the same way though, how do you know when to sell and where the bottom will be to buy back in, and how will you avoid the market recovering in that time causing you to lock in losses? Long term holding of good stocks and educated guesses about where to take some profit/add to a position is about all a retail investor can do.
I sold most of my positions 2-3 weeks ago (locking in good gains for the year) and bought short term T-bills. I did keep some oil stocks (ET, COP, PTEN) because... I think the world is on the brink of WW3.

Dont get out now. Most stocks are down to lows and if you havent gotten out yet, dont. If you missed something like 7 days out of the last 20 years your returns would be halved. This is for long term holders. You cant treat the market as a whole if youre trading. If you sre, Get long dated calls for 2026 of your fav picks. Most times the premium is less than a stop loss on equal shares. Less capital exposure

So...given the HUGE FINANCIAL INCENTIVE FOR RUSSIAN ENERGY EXPORTS: I blv the odds of the Iranians' Military actions impending and therefore the closing down the STRAIGHT OF HORMUZ (SOON) - both are VERY HIGH! 1/3 of global LNG and 1/4 of global oil go through that choke point! What happens to the US Consumer, when that Straight is shut down? What happens to US Equities when that Straight is shut down?
