Kaden….I couldn’t agree more. I’m still ‘transitioning’ into true minimalist-zero drop. I’m mid-60s male…my real running days are over, but I backpack, bikepack, kayak, train my dog and hike daily 4-9 miles 5-6 days a week. I have that exact Prio….I also have the Xero Z-Trail sandals that I carry when backpacking as my evening “in camp shoe”. While actually backpacking, I wear Altra Lone Peaks or my Lems (depending on the altitude or mountains of the trail. Funny that you mention Brooks, as when I did run, I was a religious Brooks devotee. I can’t fathom why the big name brand athletic shoe companies don’t at least adopt a more natural toe box, regardless of whether they adopt true zero drop. Another good review of a great shoe from a company that “gets it”.

I love the Prio, they're probably the most comfortable shoes i've ever worn but they have terrible durability in my experience. The sole has torn from the upper in many places and cracks on the upper. I've worn the HFS alot as well and that one has minor damages but not too bad. Have worn them for a year now interchangeably

I've been using some pair of flat puma retro style shoe for like 3 years. First as an everyday shoe then exclusively for exercise. The first 6 months was a little rough walking around as my foot muscles acclimated to supporting themselves. But in the end it solved the knee pain I was getting from wearing arch supporting shoes.
I can't get the puma variety I like anymore, and the ones I got have chunks of the rubber sole missing, so I've been looking at these online.

Thanks for talking about this one! Been needing to replace my old mat flex shoes for lifting and my other workouts, and I've been on the fence on which type of zero drop shoes to get, since they're all so pricey! But this one in particular in the men's sizing is the most reasonable price I've seen. I'm a woman with wide and thick feet, so I do often find that women's shoes are too narrow and/or shallow. I'm gonna give these a try!

Hey man, I just found the video and thanks for putting this together! I got the shoes today- I'm usually EUR 45 and got the Xero prio in EUR 45 as they advised true to size for this one but they felt kinda bigger than i'm used to at first. I mostly plan to use those around the gym so no running , maybe some walks etc. In your experience of using them would something like a regular 45 , true to size actually be Ok , OR its just I'm not used to the wider toe box etc. from my years of using conventional sneakers and that's actually how they should feel? What's your recommendation/opinion?

  • @BetsyDudash

I got a pair of these recently and really like them. I haven't been a sneaker wearer in decades, but I started with Cariumas and was amazed how good my feet felt without too much cushioning/arch support. I like to go barefoot, but our floors are too cold right now. I have Achilles issues and arthritic toes so am hoping barefoot shoes will be a positive change. (My physical therapist recommended Hokas but I absolutely hate them and have only wore them a few times, mostly when I had to wear a boot for Achilles tendonitis because they were high enough.)

I realllly liked how it felt because it felt like I was so stable. I've done some running too and it feels so natural. I do have to admit I experimented with vibrams five fingers for a while because I was one of the very few that though they actually looked cool lol. I had those for 2 years but I left them out in the sun with salt water and it ruined them unforutnately. So now I'm expecting my Xero Prios soon and I'm excited to start working out in them! • @Goku-qn5vx

Vans and chucks typically are a more narrow shoe. The zero shoes give your toes room to spread. Thus giving you better balance and power production from the feet up since your gripped to the ground

@@docksloan zero drop puts the Achilles in a more stretched position than one with drop. • @docksloan

@@adimperial Maybe stretched relative to a shortened position because of elevated footwear, but overall restoring neutral. The achilles pain relative to running in five fingers may have more to do with the running itself rather than the shoe as the "sole" cause. Generally, I have found that tissue integrity is a little better off with prolonged use of natural footwear.
