I clicked on your video because I'm always curious what people put in their travel art kits. I also bought one of those wonderful Lihit lab cases. Mine is a beautiful olivey green and much thinner than yours, cause I wanted to be able to keep it in my purse all the time. I just love it. I found a great YT video from a while back where some smart person used an empty clamshell that a set of a dozen Tim Holtz gears came in to construct a watercolor palette. It is the neatest thing. The little indentions hold a surprising amount of artist's grade tube paints, and because it is only about 1/4' thick and weighs pretty much nothing, I can get an amazing amount of other supplies in my little case. I really enjoyed getting a glimpse of Margate Beach. I grew up very close to the Gulf of Mexico, and spent a lot of time at the beach growing up. It's been quite a while since I've been to the shore, and I especially liked your little gull friend! I was #986 subscriber. Congrats, you should be at 1000 subscribers any day!

A lovely sketch. Great colours, and I dont think perspective makes any difference in most cases. The eye sorts it out for itself, somehow. I'm off to do do some plein air with a group of sketchers in a town, Alnwick, close to home. I've sketched on my local beach and enjoyed the various people coming up to me, even small kids. Every one of them was very kind and complimentary, the kids asked question. I love it. I hope youll do it again. Thanks for sharing your process.

I love painting on the beach but I did enjoy that it was quiet that day and there wasn’t anyone to really come up and see what I was doing. I got all involved with coloring which lead me to you which brought me back to what I have been searching for. I am not really sure what that is but I can tell you how it feels. Thrilling and colorful and joyful!! I started Skillshare following Denise Love which you mentioned!! I cant wait to make a sketchbook of my own. I just ordered a Talens sketchbook from Blicks which is an art store here in California. I also ordered some of the DR pearlesence pink ink!!! I have a good collection of watercolors from a before art journey as well as a half finished Graphic Design attempt, but I enjoyed the drawing and painting not the computer stuff...so one reason I quit was that. This feels different...thank you. I will be here listening in California...and will take a sketchbook to the beach or even into my small town!!!!!

No need to snap those Neocolors! The water soluble Swisscolor crayons are from the same manufacturer and perform identically to Neocolors. They're shorter than Neocolors, so they're essentially pre-snapped for you. The color range is somewhat smaller, but I they'd be right up your alley. If you'd like to see them compared to Neocolor II, check out Frugal Crafter's video from earlier this week.
Awesome thanks for the recommendation! I also love the frugal crafters videos so I’ll take a look! But I do have this Neocolor collection that will probably last me a lifetime, I’m not sure if I need more water soluble crayons…. Or maybe I do 🙈😆

I use this wee pencil case too, it's surprising how much u can get in it! Where u put ur hankies (the "flappy" centre bit) I put an A6 watercolour book too. I have everything in it! Lol 🎉 I also keep it packed so I can pick up and go 😅
It’s such a perfect little pencil case to grab and go isn’t it! 😍 I did try to fit my little sketchbook in here but it was not to be 😢 I did pack it to the brim though!
Oh can you imagine how cute that would be 🥹 showing all his little seagull friends!! Next time I go there will be seagull graffiti all over the walls 😂

I'm in a experimental phase lately, deliberately breaking most of the rules I learned about painting, and it's been liberating, joyful, and best of all not stressful! I love the wonky work I do now!

I have been trying to ‘un learn’ all the rules I learned about art from my coloured pencil realism days for a while now and still on that journey struggling to let go of details 😂 But the unpredictability and excitement of my work now makes me happy every single day! seagull friend is most likely trying to learn how to paint like you!! maybe he goes on to arrange rocks & twigs in an artistic fashion 🐦 🥺
