Good informative, i am holding since it was IDFC, Dr.Rajiv Lal phase leads to V V Phase, then V V phase leads to VV bank phase. High Risk, high reward. Time only answers.
I have learned about Banking in this one video, more than all I knew ever before , which means I knew nothing ( haha ). Thanks a lot for making this video and telling what to look out for. This was wonderful!
Just one small comment on Vodafone exposure: they switched to 25% provisions because the voda bonds were trading at 76% of their value. Meaning idfc first bank can dispose off of them today at 0% extra credit costs. If voda bonds trade at lower valuations then they would create more provisions I think.

@@SOICfinance Yes as far my understanding goes actually the bonds now have enough liquidity, which is why they reduced the provisions
Would still be tricky, any further deterioration in finances of vi will actually freeze the bond again. Thus, we see haircuts etc happening as India doesn't have a liquid bond market. Irrespective, thanks for watching 😁🙏
A week ago i tried to find the reason for underperformance of its stock price , and i am happy that i found the same resons .

One thing that is missed is the fact that Capital first's cost of liabilities is greater than IDFC first bank's and the fact the bank has been reducing the rate of interest on the liabilities recently(similar strategy followed by Kotak). So ROE for IDFC first bank can be substantially more than Capital first

A lot of things have changed now in IDFC First Bank..
1. Vodafone Loan threat is away.
2. NIM is good at 6.30%
3. 40% of the book is home loan.
4. 70% of total book is retail.
5. Legacy loan book is cleaned up.
6. C/I is still high but expect operating leverage to play out soon.
7. Credit cost is guided at only 1.50%
