Awesome job Randy... as an Aussie and from the land of Hilux's and Landcruiser's I would say that the scale between both is pretty reasonable, oh and Dad owned an Fj55 for many years.
Im pretty sure I will be picking one up just for nostalgic reason and paint it the green and white as that's what we had.
    Cheers guys 👍

This is unreal to me. I have a 78 fj55 with 780,000 miles on it. It was my first vehicle, I bought it when I was 17. I’ve driven it for 34 years. I can’t wait for my kit

I really like the body just wish it wasn’t lexan. Randy hit a home run on the paint though!

Awesome build.. love this thank you for sharing .. Learnt to drive in one of these... My first drive was in the Simpson Desert in a brand new 1976 FJ55.. These were seen everywhere in Australia through the '70's... and yes being a full size Landcruiser is bigger than Hilux, the scale looks awesome. Awesome Build... Thanks to RC4wd !!

Randy did an amazing job!!! The lexan body doesn't bother me at and that's a good value kit at that price

Great video. I absolutely love this and have always wanted one... and yes, so glad it’s not a Jeep or a hardbody.
    Definitely on the wish list👍🏻😊

Beautiful truck, I've been painting the inside, and spraying the outside with a clear matte finish to knock down the paint shine, I'll have to try your paint method some day awesome review 🙏😎✝️☮️

LOL!! Iron Pig. Have never heard this name for this vehicle.
Well call me the grand daddy of all liars. As a kid in Goleta California in the 70's there was a Minister of a local church, that had a real one with a Chevy engine and transmission. I saw the thing with the hood up in the parking lot of a local auto parts store right there on the main street of Goleta. The Minister said he got it from one of the members of the church.
NICE looking model!! Randy is an Artist. And thank you for verifying the Rust-Oleum for plastic has flex agent and is suitable for R/C bodies.

Nice! Have always loved the FJ55, but would have preferred a hard body. The Lexan isn't too bad, accept for the mold lines through the fenders & quarters. Great job guys!

This body is simple and it seems to be handled well by lexan. Not sure how much better looking a hardbody would be. All in the finish as this doesn't have complex edges.

Had a 76' pig, it was an amazing(ly) heavy rig ha. Had the bulletproof 2F I-6. It name was Mr. Soul, it spent most of its life as a surf rig in California. Had the fastest rear window in the west. Like an idiot I sold it for 2k but my buddy turned it into a dedicated rock crawler, probably has an LS in it now.

I'm sorry, love your videos but RC4WD and lexan just don't mix, it's about time, about time to drop your quality to 10 percent when you had 100 per cent, this sucks.

Great job! Have always liked the FJ55, although I wish it was a hard body. For Lexan, this isn't too bad. My only complaint are the mold lines running through the fenders & quarters, but the proportions look good. The 2 tone paint is awesome. I'm wondering if there is a way to lower it some.

RC4WD is getting roasted for not making it a hard body. I mean I get why because of weight. Also no inner fenders or sliders was also a bad choice. Your average Joe wont be able to get it looking this nice. I also hate how low the transfer case hangs down. It will get hung up on literally everything. People don't buy a TF2 for performance however.

    • @mypassionrc-studioxd40lous66
      @mypassionrc-studioxd40lous66 2 роки тому +1

Amen agree with your comment. I like hard body for my trail trucks, I'm not looking for performance just a capable trail truck to go hiking with. But for performance crawling I choose lexan every time. I'm not sure I agree with rc4wd on this one the chassis is not necessarily a performance chassis so I would have preferred a hard body. But I like the body I think I'll put it on a gen8 chassis pak. 🙏😎✝️☮️

I just cant get into anything offered from RC4WD. I want to. Like, I really, really want to like them lol. But I have yet to find any product from them that I enjoy. I will say they lead the industry when it comes to scale looks. But thats about all they have going for them. Their tires are suck, their wheels are a pain with any other tire brand out there except for theirs (and even then its still a pain), every truck is leaf spring, which some may love but I just couldnt get into it, every body is some toyota (again a lot may love but just not for me) and they are way over priced in my opinion. The one body I would expect to be a hardbody (this FJ55) they come out with lexan...Like, I just dont know what they are doing over there lol

Amen brother, I don't own anything rc4wd. I can't get my head wrapped around the prices. I bought 2 things from them a long time ago when I first started, crappy internal shocks and crappy wagon wheels there in a tote somewhere. 🙏😎✝️☮️

I bought the RC4WD short wheel base Landrover D90 hard body and mounted it on an SCX10 ii raw builders kit.
Performs well, but that’s th first and last RC4WD hard body I will build.
I’ve bought the FJ55 body kit simply because it IS Lexan and I’m mounting it on an SCX10 ii

FYI MST RC has fantastic bodies they are a Cross between lexan and a hard body, they are lexan but they use high quality and heavier materials. And they offer the FJ body styles 🙏😎✝️☮️I bought the scx10ll kit also I was totally disappointed with materials and design, I don't buy axial either my last truck was a RGT PRO loved it a rtr for the same price as the scx10ll price go figure

What a rip-off. It doesn't even runs in a realistic way. No portal axles, no two speed transmission... The Absima CR 3.4 Khamba and Sherpa are blowing that thing out of the water. Damn, even the other rip-off, the TRX4 runs and looks better.

Please consider choosing some other type of background music other than the " boom , click , boom , click " style that absolutely everywhere these days, and I do mean everywhere. Humans have been enjoying music for thousands of years and it has evolved over all those years as well, that is up until the last couple of years thanks to you tube content creators. Now everything you hear on you tube is all the same basic bass boom/stomp followed by a snare drum/clap/click type of hit and repeat over and over again. This style of "music" has taken us backwards thousands of years in musical evolution. I know there is limited styles of free music out there but the fact remains that it is out there, one just has to look, in fact there is more out there now than ever before. Personally I think you tube is in danger because of the way viewers are being treated, we are now being fed mind numbing music and the rest of the content is just one big ad to sell the viewer stuff, quite a bit different from just a few years ago, now everyone is trying to secure their retirement income using revenue from you tube. Many friends and co-workers have all said the same thing, they are getting tired of the same ole same ole that you tube has become. I enjoy this channel but it is fast becoming the same as thousands out there just like it. Creators want the masses to follow them everywhere and click the bell for notifications and like them, kinda creepy and a bit like stalking someone if ya ask me lol. Anyways I hope you and others can pay more attention to the musical choices being made, music can make or break a video in seconds, heck if a brick and mortar store is playing music that I dont like then I will not shop, who would especially if it's being played quite loud and watching videos is the same. If the intent is to just get the video out there as quick as possible for the sole purpose of sales then you tube is no longer for me. You tube is now full of copycat ideas, dual camera/angle recording for example and when a creator copies a style that has become "popular" then he/she is no different than everyone else. We all have a limited time for viewing this content , if a video opens up with what would be absolutely no thought or regard to the music then im outta there in one click. I only mention this as a way to help the channel and am in no way trying to be a jerk. So many people are afraid to say what is really on there minds or are only in it for the likes that the comment section is now just a means to swell content creators heads by way of thinking all is well in the land of you tube. I regularly see comments like " this video is the best/greatest. Your the best/greatest , Best channel ever, you get the idea, while a person may enjoy those kinds of remarks they in no way help the creator make better videos, that's not my style, I speak my mind because I was brought up in an era where we were encouraged to do so and were not afraid to do so either. Like I said I like this channel and want to see it remain and the best way that I can see that happening is to offer a little constructive criticism, not meant to harm but to help. I talk to lots of people and this is by far one of the biggest issues with people watching videos, they have all become the same, especially the music. This style of music is not just on crawler sites but literally on all the different interests that I view and believe me there are many. On a side note with following people, if I added up all the time it would take to follow everyone on the different platforms that they all ask us to do then I would have absolutely no life or time to run my trucks. I would literally need hundreds of bodies to do the watching for me. Everyone is asking everyone to follow them literally everywhere these days and all I can ask is " What has happened to society "
