I remember the first or second fight with my son when we were discovering the game, and he played a Not This Time. I said there's no way it does what we think it does, it's way too powerful. Well, two years later, we always hope it'll be in our hand!
great video, just recently participated in my first tourney and love seeing more strategic diagnosis of the game, one thing i think is worth mentioning is that there is a lot of value in try, try again on roll to resolve status effects (evasive, agility, time bomb, flight, etc) having that card when you only have one evasive essentially gives you 3 evasive for the cost of 1CP, and greatly increases the success of these effects
Hey Build Phase really love your videos. I am also new to dice throne and out of all the guides on youtube I've found that yours are by far the best because you are explaining the rational behind your decisions, it makes it so much easier to understand. It's great to hear the passion in you when you talk about the Shadow Thief, the video of you playing against a Pyromancer was just amazing where you waited for the opponent to have 0 CP and no cards left to then just jump into shadows and negate all their damage was just phenomenal I'll never forget it lol. I hope in the future you plan on doing a review on the Cursed Pirate, seems to be alot of peoples favourite but I can't find a single guide on it haha! Keep up the amazing work, all the best!
You're so kind! Thank you. Yes. My goal is to have a full video on every hero. Cursed Pirate is one of my favorites in s2, so she's definitly on my list of priorities!
Great analysis! I'm newer to Dice Throne so I've started picking up some strategic elements, but I've barely scratched the surface of the mind games and using die cards to mess up opponents more than ultimate chase (the new player mentality is ALWAYS to ultimate chase). And you confirmed my suspicion that the two "reroll your own dice" cards are pretty crap lol. One point at 4:15, I believe against the Barbarian you can't even touch concussion (with any of the main phase action removal cards) because the upkeep when it triggers happens before main phase! So status removal cards against barbarian are almost entirely useless... Only Buh Bye can be played against concussion and the 3 point swing of selling it rather than playing is probably never worth vs the CP and card that you'd lose? Unless you are swimming in CP... Anyways thanks for the great analysis, keep it up!
Oh! good catch. I was actually thinking about Concus like it was a Knockdown. But that's just wrong. Glad there was some useful stuff in there alongside that mistake. Heheh. As a new player, what hero(s) are you learning with?
Just getting into this game and I love your content. The way you explain your thought process is a huge help to me as a new player because developing questions to be asking myself during play is probably the most crucial step to improving. Thank you so much!
